Hi everyone,

This will be our first trip ever to Disney, not for lack of trying though, but wedding, 3 babies etc delayed it everytime we tried to book.

We're going for 3 weeks staying at Port Orleans Riverside, with free QSDP, booked through Virgin Holidays.

Me Claire 29 DH Tim 31 DD 7 DD 6 DS 3 Family Friend 33

I feel so impatient I soooo wish it was this year, but hey ho, I would like to shift a few stones before then anyway so I guess I have planty of time to do that before hand. Will be coming on here lots over the coming months as I find reading all the posts re trip planning and trip reports ever so slightly addictive lol! I am soooo excited this is our dream come true!

Welcome to the DIS and congratulations on finally getting you vacation booked.

About me: I still don't know that we will make it but I am hoping to add 7 nights before our Back 2 Back cruises. That means we would be at WDW from about the 17through the morning of the 23rd when we get on the Magic. My home away from home. It will be just me and my life mate of 23 years in 2010. I will be sure to let everyone know as soon as we know if I can come up with enough money to add the week. Happy planning. Lois

I have another October question, do you feel guilty pulling the kids out of school, when school just starts? We want to go in October, but, we have never pulled out our son from school for a vacation.

:confused3:):confused3

COUNT ME IN TOO!!!! DH just told me tonight, after I have been bothering him about it for the past week, that we will go either June, August, or October. I chose Oct. so my kids can go to the MNSSHP. NOW... we just have to decide on either CBR or AKL! I love both of them resorts so it's a good thing I have some time to decide :jumping3:

I'm not sure about everyone else, but our schools are on fall break during the time we plan to go.

Thats soooo cool about doing back to back cruises! DF and I have never been on a cruise but are planning on doing one for our wedding anniversary... wishful thinking though. :rotfl2:

I can't wait to hear if you can add another week! popcorn::

I love going in October! I've never done MNSSHP but i think we might do it as a disneymoon extra. :thumbsup2 I've never stayed at CBR but i LOVED AKL! :lovestruc

Okay, I really have a lot to learn :) ! Sorry Disneychard and Figment Fan, but I don't know how to "quote" anything yet. My DD will only be out of school for about 5 days and I am going to plan the trip around her schools P/T Conf. I do know that I would feel really guilty if she struggled in class plus I figured she is still in elementary school so I figured I might as well do it while I can :cool1: . To Figment Fan... congrats on your future wedding! How exciting to celebrate at the happiest place on earth best wishes to you and your DF!! I think a DFTW is awesome and I would LOVE to see my DD experience that, but for now she is only 8 and I don't want to rush those things ;) !

Wow, its nice to see I'm not the only person planning a trip so far in advance! We're planning a trip for Columbus Day Weekend to coincide w/DS's fall break.

It will be nice to follow this thread to see how others are doing in their planning.

I have to make an adjustment to my october trip :upsidedow

Since BLT has opened my DFi was checking it out online and he wasn't impressed... we instead of staying there we contacted out DVC landlords (i dont know what else to call them :rotfl2:) And thankfully they own at AKV so we are going to be there for the wedding weekend and then still moving to BWV for the honeymoon. :thumbsup2

If figure this will be better for our families coming for the wedding since the AKL is the cheapest of the deluxe resorts. Plus i just LOVE AKL!!! I'm super excited!

So glad I found this! I am just starting to plan a trip in Oct 2010. I can't wait to hear more from all of you who have already been there and can help a 1st timer out.

Since labor day marked the "end" of summer... :sad2: so sad... and since i didn't want this thread to disappear... How was everyone's summer? Anyone have any new plans to share?

This time next year we'll only be about a month away! :woohoo:

Hi all! I haven't read thru this thread yet, but our trip is booked and I can't wait!! BBL after I've had time to read thru.

Unfortunately I'm about 2-months away from making my reservations through DVC. I crossed the first hurdle of getting all parties to agree to a stay at the Treehouse Villas. Now I'm working on getting them all interested in attending MNSSHP.

I envy anyone planning a trip for just them and a significant other. Trying to make six people happy in one trip is probably going to kill me! :headache:

Very last minute trip -- Very much needed trip. We own a family business and my brother was in a terrible motorcycle accident at the beginning of the summer, which meant no vacation time for the rest of us so as to cover our store. So now my brother is back to work -- my two boys have time off from school in October -- and we are off to Disney:cool1: Count down is on.

We always go in July to WDW, but my husband wants to go in Oct 10, How is the weather, crowds etc.
:):):)

We went two years ago and the weather was warm, but not uncomfortably so. But it was rainy (drizzly) one day and very overcast to the point that we needed light jackets, so you need to prepare for hot and cool temps. The crowds were light as well. I don't remember there being overly long lines for anything, but we tend to just go with the flow. We also don't do the more popular rides (TOT, Space or Splash Mountains) as I'm a big ride chicken :scared1: :rotfl:.

How much busier is it on columbus day weekend and Columbus day compared to the rest of Oct? I strongly dislike crowds and it was perfect last year when we went-10/18-10/25. But next year, i'd like for my kids not to miss so much school and often in our school district they have columbus day and the day after off, so that would mean the kids only have to miss 3 days of school.

anyone know?

thank you!!!!

I know how you feel! Since we're having our wedding down there i'm not only wedding planning, but i'm also playing TA to both our families :headache: Thankfully my family is into disney and are pretty ok with everything but DF's family isn't...so yea... they're totally clueless on all things disney.

It'll all be worth it though... the more the merrier :dance3: (just as long as you can make it through the planning!!! :rotfl2:)

Dont have specifics down yet by any means... But we are talking about getting married 10-10-10 in disney... So we will be there for at the very least a week.. Hoping for maybe 2!!!!

We'll be taking our first trip home next October. We will be staying 11 nights at THV/SSR. :woohoo:
