OFFICIAL October 2009 thread - LET US KNOW YOUR PTR LINK!

Can I join, too?

We'll be at WDW October 3rd thru 9th staying at AKV - Jambo. We're also attending MNSSHP the evening of the 6th!

This is our second trip to WDW, but the first time the kids were really young, 2 and 5, and DH was working the whole time and didn't get to visit the parks with us. This time we'll get to do everything together as a family and we can't wait!

We are going to the same party and will be at Disney the same time...Hurry Up October!!!:cool1:

We just booked the Pirates and Pals Voyage...can't remember what it is called. Has anyone done this type of thing before? I have it booked for Oct 2.

:woohoo::woohoo:I'm soooo excited!! I got all the ADR's I wanted!! Thanks to all of you expert Dis peeps! I got on line at 4am....my time:eek: I'm going October 16-24 staying at POP, and here's my ADR's:

October 16th: T-Rex Cafe
October 17th: Rain Forest Cafe
October 19th: Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
October 20th: Cinderella's Royal Table :cool1: (most proud of this one)
October 21st: Chef Micky's

The rest of time we'll probably just eat counter service! What do you all think? Do those look good?? It's 4:33am and I knew this was the only place I could go where someone would appreciate my ADR's. I will call my mom this morning and excitedly tell her about this......but she won't get it. She will think "what is wrong with that girl....who get's THAT excited about a reservation?":laughing::laughing: She has no idea!!

So Thanks Disboard.....for letting me do my happy dance at 4:30 in the morning simply for getting my silly, silly reservations!!!!! ;)

SO EXCITED...My DH and I are going Oct. 16 - Oct. 24 for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Staying at WL. We honeymooned at the Poly in 1984. :bride:This will be our first time going in Oct. and doing the MNSSHP, Oct. 20. Looking forward to the Food and Wine Festival. We are empty nesters this year as our oldest DD graduated from college and is on her own and our DS graduated from high school and is off to college. Bitter sweet.
I got up at 4:30 this morning and did our ADR's. I got all we wanted, even LeCellier. :yay:
I am new to all the Boards and hope I do these posts right. Thanks for ALL the info and sharing the excitement.:worship:

Wow! Good for you!!:cool1:

How did you get on at 4 am? I thought the online time was 6 am. What did I miss???:worship: Mine is coming up.:dance3:

Thanks TinkAsh. I went to your thread regarding MNSSHP. Have you been many times before? This will be our first time and we are so excited. Halloween is our favorite holiday. We are one of those families that build a graveyard, etc. for the Halloween trick or treaters. It's so fun. What is your favorite, not to be missed thing at MNSSHP?

Hello everyone! After hours of reading through this entire thread, I'm officially HOOKED! :thumbsup2 I'm so glad I found this site.

Earlier this week I booked our trip to WDW, arriving October 2 and leaving October 8. I have never been there and actually haven't gone on any 'real' vacations like this my entire life that I can think of. (I'm 35.) I'm a single mom to my beautiful little girl who's turning 5 princess: while we're down there so, needless to say, this is a BIG deal for us both. It's kind of the trip of a lifetime and I want to do my best to get it right.

We're staying at AS Movies. Our flight arrives around 2:15 on the 2nd and departs around 5:00 on the 8th. How does this look so far for an itinerary? I could really use any suggestions if our timing is unrealistic or I've left out certain places where we HAVE to eat our first time, etc. (No water parks, no park hopper, no MNSSHP or F&W fest, free dining plan.)

Fri. 2 - Settle in to hotel. Dinner at Boma @ 7:40 PM. Bedtime after.

Sat. 3 - Magic Kingdom. Breakfast at Kona @ 9:20 AM. Try to hit parade at noon and/or 8 PM, fireworks at 9 PM, back to hotel for bed.

Sun. 4 - Hollywood Studios. Block party at 3 PM. Dinner at 50's Prime Time @ 5:30 PM. Fantasmic at 8 PM, then back to hotel for bed.

Mon. 5 - Animal Kingdom. Lunch at Tusker House at 1:40 PM. Parade at 3:45. Back to hotel for swimming and light dinner after park closes at 5 PM.

Tues. 6 - Epcot. Late breakfast at 10:45 at Akershus with princesses. Stay for Illuminations at 9 PM, then back to hotel for bed.

Wed. 7 - Magic Kingdom. Late breakfast at 10:45 at Chef Mickey's. (DD's birthday breakfast!) Possibly any combo of parade at 3 PM or 8 PM and/or fireworks at 9 PM.

Thurs. 8 - I think hotel check-out said 11 AM or noon but I wonder if we could stay longer at the pool until we leave for the airport around 2 PM? Or find something to occupy ourselves and relax before leaving for the airport.

A couple things I'm concerned about are that DD normally goes to bed at 8 PM so I'm not sure how much it's reasonable to push that time later before it could be a disaster. (Heading back to the hotel mid-day for a nap sounds nice but she almost never naps and I'm not sure we want to give up that much time on buses that could be used experiencing the parks instead?)

Also, that 7:40 PM ADR at Boma the night we arrive has me questioning whether it's a good idea. It would make for a late dinner, MAYBE a hassle trying to get from our resort to a theme park to that resort and then all over again to get back to the hotel after dinner. (Since buses don't go from resort to resort I'm told.) Would it be better to cancel that ressie and spend the first night lounging around the pool with an early bedtime, and then use the table service credit for a second meal one of the other days? Like maybe dinner 10/3 or 10/7 or breakfast Sunday 10/4.

I'm so torn! For DD's birthday on the 7th I've already told the reservations person and she added the note to our Chef Mickey's breakfast ADR. I'll be sure to pick up the birthday button and her complimentary gift card (in lieu of the free admission since we've got multi-day tickets). I've also heard to be sure and let all the CMs we talk with know, just in case they can do something special.

How am I doing so far? :confused3

I think you need to add some downtime in your plans. Being a new disney geek you are going to try and do everything but you will wear yourself out including your child. I would suggest taking breaks in the afternoon to go back to your room maybe not to sleep but to relax. It really doesn't take up that much time and isn't that far on the busses. I have been to disney several times and still take a break every day.

Wow! Good for you!!:cool1:

well....4am my time is 6am Eastern time. I live in New Mexico. So I am on Moutain time.....:)

This was the one part of my vacation that was stressing me the most:scared1: Turns out.....no need to worry! :rotfl:

Good luck getting all you ADR's!!! :yay:

Thank you. That's exactly the kind of thing I was wondering. I'll take a look at which days/times would work best for leaving the park mid-day and heading back for a break. I don't want to overdo it if that would mean spoiling the fun.

Hi from a single-mom! I have been taking my boys to WDW since they were each 8 years old (they are 13 and 16 now) and I can't think of a better way to spend time with my boys.

We will be there October 2-11 at the All Star Sports. We check out on the
9th and spend 2 nights off property closer to SeaWorld and Universal...this is the FIRST time we have done the "other" parks :scared1:!

Welcome to our October thread!!
