***Official November 2022 Thread***

I’ve been telling DH our plans for months. We are leaving the Friday after Thanksgiving until the next Sunday. Are you good with doing to full weekends since some Xmas stuff is only on the weekends?
Sure.. no problem.

He asked for the dates to give the work the other day. Nov. 25-Dec 4.
What!?!? 9 nights! That’s too long.

So our awesome trip needed to be shortened. Instead of 9 nights now it’s 7. We had 2 nights in VGF, 4 in Copper Creek, 2 Hard Rock and 1 at Kindani. I had tons of resort time, off-site Christmas stuff and lots of first in there.

I managed to rearrange some stuff but still missing the fort wilderness carriage ride. We fly in on Sat. and arrive at 3. Two things I had in this trip were Disney Springs to eat at T-rex, shop and see all the Xmas trees. I also wanted to take the kids to Seaworld for the first time and see the Christmas celebration.

Disney Springs or Seaworld? Kids are 5 and 7.

Since I shorted the trip DH agreed to a short Oct. trip next year and I will take DD18 next Dec for a weekend for girls only.
I would have just told him to go home early and stayed with the kids! :rotfl2:Did you have to change your flights also?

Have you done Walmart before? Does bellhop receive it if you're not there? We've always done Garden Grocer but their prices are out of this world!

I’ve done it in other cities while on vacation but not at Disney. I started a thread on the resorts board and it came highly recommended. Bell hop does receive it for you. We arrive late (land around 9 pm) and I scheduled our delivery for 9-10 am at the recommendation of others on the board. Earlier means less likely to run out of items.

We’re now in the single digits! 9 days to go and it sounds like maybe I should look at breaking out some shorts (try em on and pack them). I packed all jeans and a few pairs of shorts. Lol. I don’t think I ever put my plans here but here it goes

11/4- drive stop for the night at a hotel and rest

11/5- wake up, eat and back on the road. We should arrive in Orlando this day. We’ll do a grocery run and maybe visit Disney springs

11/6- magic kingdom we have under the sea and Peter pan booked

11/7- Hollywood studios we have droid
depot for 8:40 am and smugglers run and toy story mania booked

11/8- rest day/ waterpark/Disney springs

11/9-universal

11/10- animal kingdom with Kilimanjaro safaris and na’vi river booked

11/11- rest day/water park/Disney springs

11/12- Hollywood studios mama melrosa for lunch, savis builds around 3:40 pm, some droid builds (may be dropped), and ogas cantina for 4:50 pm. Rides we have slinky dog, tower of terror and rock n rollercoaster

11/13- Epcot (I love Epcot!) we have soarin and test track booked

11/14- last day :( magic kingdom with Peter Pan and thunder mountain booked

11/15- start driving home. Stop at st. Augustine (daughters first time at the beach) drive and then stop for the night

11/16- wake up, eat and drive home

So that’s that. A full trip which my daughter said “this trip will be worth it” she originally thought we were only going 2 days. I think we’ve managed to get something everyone wants to do and a special experience for those who really want (savis and droids).
What do you mean by "booked"? I thought you couldn't buy Genie+ or Lightening Lane until day of.

For all those doing a split stay, remember that Disney no longer transports your food items

As long as they are not refrigerated items, you should be ok. I have sent sodas and shelf stable stuff like instant oatmeal packets, etc.

I made some changes as I forgot one thing we are doing. Also, I decided that we shouldn't have a sit down meal for our arrival day since we have a 9 hour drive over Thanksgiving weekend.

11/26: Drive down to WDW and check into VGF; Kona Cafe reservation for 6:30
11/27: My kids want to do Typhoon Lagoon, but I'm trying to talk them out of this :D , AKL for some shopping & lunch; Grand Floridian cafe for dinner
11/28: AK and will probably park hop to MK for a QS dinner or dessert so we can see the castle
11/29: MK with Crystal Palace for a late lunch; park hop to HS or have relaxing evening at the resort
11/30: Check out of VGF; late breakfast at O'hana for my :stitch2: loving kids; DS for some shopping; check into BWV; Night of a Million Lights for GKTW; Cape May reservation
12/1: HS; Hoop Dee Do Revue for dinner (our first time!)
12/2: Epcot with Via Napoli for lunch.
12/3: check out of BWV and drive home 😢
FYI: Typhoon Lagoon is closing on Nov. 13th for refurbishment, the same day that Blizzard Beach is re-opening. I guess you could just tell your kids the first part of that news :)

We’re 5 days to go. Plans are ever changing and now in order to do blizzard beach everyone wants to move Epcot to the 11th and do blizzard beach on the 13th. We also need to purchase universal tickets. Really down to the wire here lol

I had to laugh in the first few sentences. Sounded just like my husband. Doesn't pay attention to the dates. Glad your getting another vacation in Oct off of it. Did you consider going the whole time and having your husband meet your and DD?

Enjoy your trip. Don't forget to take a day to just relax.

Yeah, we’ve already talked about it and I’ve mostly talked them out of going to a water park.

We have I think 1 day as a rest day…we went from 3 to 2 and now 1 rest day 😂 I’m trying to keep in mind that a few of the parks/ water park days are lighter but I still think we’ll all be exhausted

We take no full rest days but we do have several sleep in days where we start late and it works for us. Some of those days we go into a park at 12 pm and some days we start around 3-4 pm. We’ve done trips with full rest days because that’s what the boards said to do but by 4-5 we were itching to go to a park.

We’re midday breakers. Get off the old feet for while!

We do midday breaks on our RD days. It helps so much. Most days we go to the pool but maybe once a trip we will just rest in the room and nap. For 9 days we RD each park once and sleep in and start late the other days. It works really well for us. We’re still tired but not utterly exhausted.

On our first theme park day, we're moving from OKW to CC. I'm trying to decide if we should leave our bags with bell services for transfer at OKW then ride the bus MK, or take a Lyft to CC with bags, drop them off and take the boat to MK. Thoughts?
