***Official November 2013***

Does anyone have a link to the facebook Group
Hey, there!!! Sent you an email to join the group yesterday morning.

Also....just got my Allears newsletter and I have some disappointing news to impart: the Railroad will be closed from mid-September until Nov 20th. :sad2: I can't tell you how sad and disappointed I am. :sad1: I love, love, love the Railroad and have since I first went.

But, on the bright side: I'll have more time to ride something else: say.....Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. And there's always the TTA for a nice, relaxing ride.

Oh no not the train! The Mickey updates app has the railroad opening back up on the 21st of October.

Bummer! Thanks for the heads up. Note to self...plan Railroad for our second MK day. We planned on doing the railroad on the first day. My son on the autism spectrum loves trains and I thought it would be a good way to introduce him to the park but we'll find another way. I guess I should count myself lucky I should be able to catch the train at all!

A couple of WDW planning sites are saying that the Railroad is only down until 10/20, and a couple more are saying 11/20. I can't get the official site working long enough to find out what it says :badpc:- so there is still hope that the Train might be running in November.

I agree, I'll keep my fingers crossed. It's just something I look forward to each trip (I love trains). And, last trip, we actually saw a real deer in the scene where the fake deer are. We thought that was so funny! I think I have a picture somewhere.....

I'll have to be honest. In all my trips to Disney I never investigated the train part. Can you share details about it for those that don't know?

It's a steam engine train that encircles the Magic Kingdom. It's just a nice, lazy ride in open-air cars. I'm a bit weird....I love all forms of transportation. I love airports, I love trains (and have been on quite a few in my area), and I love boat rides.

For the WDW RR, there are stops in Frontierland, the new Fantasyland and Main Street. After the Frontierland station, you'll see a Native American settlement and, not far after that, are the fake deer (and I think there might be other animals, like bison). But I just love it because it's relaxing and a nice way to get to another point in the parks.

Most of the websites i went on said it will reopen October 21! Lets keep our fingers crossed :)

Hi Guys.
So happy to find your board. We are heading to WDW 11/9-11/17. I'm sooo excited.:woohoo: We are staying at Pop.
We last went to WDW in April 2012. It was DD's (4 at the time) first trip. She loved it and I've been dying to take her back.

We are doing a split reservation checking in 11/9 (Room Only), a second reservation checking in 11/11 to to take advantage of free dining until 11/17. I'm hoping we can pick up our tickets early on 11/10. Anyone else doing a split and picking their tickets up early?

Has anyone used touring plans and had them be close to accurate. I'm trying to map out our days and touring plans is giving me wait times of 0-10 minutes for almost everything. I'm thinking this could not be right?

Is this the train right at front gates?
I never looked into if this was one of the "get on rides" or if it was a special thing. Hubby might actually like the leisure ride part of it. He likes steam engines.
One more new thing looks like to happen. :cool1:

Yes - go up the stairs on Town Square. Btw there is also a behind the scenes tour for the trains at WDW.

That's why I was hoping for it for our first day, a nice, relaxing ride for the kids to accustom themselves to the park without diving in headfirst! Good way to ease any anxieties I was thinking.

Holly, I've used the crowd calendar part of it the past few trips and I've found them to be very accurate. Also, easywdw is a good source for crowd calendar and wait line info.

What days are you there? And what are the crowd levels? Even a crowd level "1" doesn't guarantee 0-10 minute waits. Maybe on the less popular attractions during the morning and evening hours, but the popular attractions can have waits up to an hour in the most busy part of the day, even with low crowd levels.

If you are looking at the touringplans site, they give a good explanation of crowd levels vs. wait times. One a Level 1 day, you can still expect to wait in the standby queue around an hour for Soarin', 40 mins for Peter Pan, and 80 minutes for Toy Story Mania during the busiest part of the day.

Arriving at rope drop, planning FPs, and touring the most popular attractions before noon will significantly cut down on the wait times. Doing some common-sense planning is a great idea, even for less crowded times. The days of being able to visit an almost-empty park are over- you won't get to walk on to everything in the World, but you will have pretty low overall waits if you make at least a rough plan.

I'm going 11/10-11/17 and doing a split stay. Pofq on 11/10 then switching to POR on the 11th. I will be trying to pickup my tickets on the 10th at dtd guest relations. One thing to remember, do NOT do online check-in. If you do they will have your pkg with tickets done before you even arrive which will make it difficult getting your tickets. Make sure you bring your licence, and any paperwork with your ress number and adr ress plus the "early ticket pickup sticky" printed out just in case you get a cm who is not sure of the procedure. This was suggested to me by Cheshire figment.
