***Official November 2013***

Thanks for the tip Babydoll65. I didn't know not to check in!!!

This was suggested by Cheshire figment. I had noticed on other threads that some people were waiting in line at guest services over 30min because the cms were haveing a hard time getting there tickets because there resort had already put together there pkg and tickets due to online check-in so I will forgo this procedure in the hopes there will be little problems.

What days are you there? And what are the crowd levels? Even a crowd level "1" doesn't guarantee 0-10 minute waits. Maybe on the less popular attractions during the morning and evening hours, but the popular attractions can have waits up to an hour in the most busy part of the day, even with low crowd levels.

If you are looking at the touringplans site, they give a good explanation of crowd levels vs. wait times. One a Level 1 day, you can still expect to wait in the standby queue around an hour for Soarin', 40 mins for Peter Pan, and 80 minutes for Toy Story Mania during the busiest part of the day.

Arriving at rope drop, planning FPs, and touring the most popular attractions before noon will significantly cut down on the wait times. Doing some common-sense planning is a great idea, even for less crowded times. The days of being able to visit an almost-empty park are over- you won't get to walk on to everything in the World, but you will have pretty low overall waits if you make at least a rough plan.

we will be there from October 30th-November 5th. we plan on doing rope drop every day and leaving around 1:00pm. I'm not sure about the crowd level but I have been making personalized touring plans on the site where you can put in what and when you want to do something then you can optimize it. then it shows the wait time walking time and free time. I just don't understand how the wait times can be so low. most of them are 3 minute waits small world is 18 and ETWB is 35.:confused3

If you are having this site make individualized touring plans for you, then it is putting attractions in an order that takes advantage of less busy times of the day to get the more popular/slow loading rides out of the way in the morning and/or evening. So, very low wait times are possible- much more so than if you just "wing it" and attempt the most popular rides at the busiest times of the day.

I would still add a bit of time onto these plans- it is very difficult to stay on track and to the minute (bathroom breaks, an attraction not on the list that one of the kids just HAS to do when they walk past it, unexpected ride breakdowns, etc). Overall, though, the wait times can be close to what the site says when you are following a touring plan.

Sounds like you are doing the smart thing and getting your touring done early, then returning in the evening when the big crowds are done. We tour this way, too, mostly. Have a great trip- we have been during the end of October/beginning of November a few times and really enjoy it! pixiedust:

ok thank you! I assumed it wouldn't be spot on but this makes me feel better. I have spent weeks trying to come up with a plan to get us finished around 1 and at the pool hopefully it will work out. Thanks again

My kids (8 & 5) are pretty shy, however, they got excited about the idea of Pin Swapping with CMs. As a way to encourage their adventurous side I would like to buy some but have no idea where to begin. I don't want to go crazy because on the likely chance they decide that there's no way they are going to talk to any CM then we will be keeping them all, if they surprise me, which they do on a lot of occasions I would like to have them on hand. Please provide any information on where to buy the pins and if we should also get lanyards. Thanks for the help.

Hi there! I didn't see any response to ur question. We are also doing this for the first time for our eldest son who will turn 5 by the time we go. I recommend that you go to the Disney Collectors Board under Just For Fun here on DIS. There are 2 threads there of Good Internet/EBay Pin Sellers. Make sure you go into the thread that says CURRENT. You may search there as well on Pin trading tips

Are you coming back to the parks in the evenings? Try to visit each park (except AK, since it closes so early) at least one evening of your trip. There are a lot of great things to do and see after dark- all the nighttime shows (Illuminations, Wishes, Fantasmic), MSEP parade at MK, and the atmosphere is just so different. I love the parks after dark!

We concentrate on rides (commando-style) from rope drop through lunchtime, then back to the resort for swimming, nap, or just hanging out. We hit the parks again around dinnertime, and spend the evenings riding a few things, but mostly just enjoying the atmosphere and doing the evening entertainment.

I am soo excited we just found out we will be going to Disney.
We are doing the trip from Nov 17th to 22nd!
We will be staying off property at Homewood Suites by Hilton Lake Buena Vista-Orlando, since we have enough points for it to be free and it includes free breakfast :cool1:

We will be at mnsshp on the 1st. Then on our first magic kingdom day we have a BOG ADR at 7:30 so we will be in the park but I'm not sure we will be able to do anything. On our second magic kingdom day I was planning on going back to the park after our 5:00 dinner at 1900 PF to see the electrical parade. My 3 year old is afraid of fireworks so was planning on avoiding them in the park as much as possible. Not sure if we will go back to Epcot in the evening or not was looking forward to marshmallows and movie under the stars and Epcot days are the only time we can do it. We will be at Hollywood studios from rope drop until close.

Ok...I think we're all updated. :) And the FaceBook page is going strong. :yay:

If only my ticker were in better shape.... lol It's not counting down. :( It was stuck on 79 days yesterday and today it's stuck on 77. I'll just let it go for a couple of days before I mess with it again.

Ah, well....off to July's financial statements....

Sounds like you are going to have a great time! If your little one is afraid of fireworks, I totally understand that the evening entertainment isn't a priority. And the nighttime open air movies are a lot of fun, too.

Just found this thread, so happy I did!

I'll be there November 11 - 18 at Animal Kingdom Lodge! Just DH and I for the first time in a couple of years. Our first time at AKL!

How do I go about getting into this Facebook group? :)
