OFFICIAL NOVEMBER 2010 THREAD - Let the countdown begin!

:banana::banana::banana: We're going!!:banana::banana::banana:

We'd initially planned to wait until next fall but when free dining got extended I begged the hubby to go this year.

With dd's ballet schedule (she dances with a company that does performances this time of year usually) a little this year we got a week free that co-ordinated with free dining!! :cool1:

Nov. 28-Dec. 2 staying at POP.

Please....someone ease my fears, we're used to Sept. and know what those crowd levels are, compare for me on a 1-10 level? What would you consider the last week of Septmber (we're always there the first day of F&W and plan around that) to this last week of Nov.??? :confused3

WAHOO! Add me to the list! Our trip is still dependent on DH getting a job....BUT I think he's pretty close so prayers & pixie dust still needed....

a little history....We have went to WDW as a family 3 times - the last being in 2003. Then dh decided he didn't really want to go anymore...& the wonderful gig called free dining got rolling in 2005...so my 2 girls & I have went every year since 2005 just for a girls trip...last year we had the trip of a lifetime, oldest dd's marching band was performing so we went for a 16 day trip stayed at AKL and did Discovery Cove. We weren't planning on going in 2010 - we were supposed to be taking a 2 week Europe vacation (with Disney paris of course) ...then the darn volcano in Iceland erupted the DAY we were supposed to leave, our trip got cancelled, immediately after that on May 1st DH got let go from his job....let me say that he's a banker, so we're not in debt, & as long as he has a job within another 30 days we're fine.

BUT I'm now working, & hopefully DH's job prospect is looking up...so I booked a quickie November girls trip...Nove 12-17 Staying at our fav resort POP. I'm not telling the girls (16 & 11) as they are going to flip! My cost for the 3 of us is just a little over $1600 & I'm hoping to catch some good airfares...

SO to make a long story short! I'm GOING in November!!!

:wizard:pixiedust: for your DH and a new banking job! Not having a job does have a nasty way of cutting into those Disney trips :sad2:

We booked a bounceback while vacationing in January for a quickie Food & Wine trip. We'll be at the Boardwalk Villas from November 1st-5th. It's still months away but we've been excited for it ever since we first booked.

We'll be at POP Nov 28-Dec 4! I just subscribed to touring plans today to check out the crowd levels for that week and looks pretty good! The only higher number day (6) is Sunday, probably b/c it's still part of the wkend after Thanksgiving. The rest of the week is all 1's, 2's and 3's!

We've always been in the hot summer months, so this will be a huge change for us!

That sounds good!! I've already been debating which park we want to do on Sunday, figuring it would be the 'busiest' day of our week.

I just figured out all of our park days yesterday and I'm finally done! No more changing here! I feel like my Disney planning has been a 2nd full time job for me. haha With 2 date changes in August and a final date change to November, plus changing park days around and ADR's around each time it's been crazy!

So for us:
Sun-Epcot
Mon-HS
Tues-AK
Wed-MK
Thurs-MK again? Could change! Might be doing MVMCP this night.
Fri-OPEN day, whatever we want to do again.

We don't have park hoppers so I need to figure this all out so far in advance to make ADR's!

We don't do park hoppers either so I always ake some long hard considerations before I determine which park we do on which day.

We almost always do MK two days, but when does the parade filming begin? I was wondering if we'd want to do it again on Thursday before leaving or if the crowd is going to be crazy and we'd be better off somewhere else.

I keep reading that it's usually the first wkend in Dec...the Sat or Sun? Our last park day is Friday, so I'm hoping we'll be out of the clear by then!

Count us in. If all things go well and accordingly, we arrive November 21st and then leave November 27.
Me and my wife will be celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary on the 22nd. [Celebrated our honeymoon at WDW - SSR.] Also, my parents, brother, in-laws and sister in law will be joining us. All of them are first time visitors to the best place on earth. :) Can't wait!

I see you are new to the boards. A tip for you: When responding to a particular post, like I just did for you, click on the button under that post that says Quote. Then the person you're referring to is quoted like your post is quoted here in mine. If you are responding to several people in a single new post, notice that there is a + sign after the word quote. That second button is multi-quote. So if there is two people you're quoting, click the 2nd button (muti quote), and then for each post your quoting, keep clicking that 2nd button until you get to the last button you're quoting. Then click the button that says Quote.. and that will quote that last person and take you to a respond window box. I hope you understand my explanation! :cool2:

Enjoy the Disboards.

Maybe we'll run into each other! What resort are you staying at? And what time is your Akershus ressie? We have a late breakfast at Akershus, I'm thinking around 10 or so? I'm not home, so I'm not 100% sure! We also have an Ohana breakfast ressie, but for Friday morning!

And welcome to the boards!:goodvibes

Doing our first split stay 11/14-11/20 three nights at POP, three at Poly. Taking advantage of free dining for the first half, 40% off for the second. Can't wait!!! Only problem, with most of our ADRs decided, I feel like I'm running out of things to plan...:sad2:

Thank you very much! Hopefully I did this right! Thank you very much for your welcome. I have not posted on here a lot because if i have a question I search for it and voila! Someone has already asked my question at least 20 times already ;) However I lurk ALOT and now even moreso I'm sure that we have actually booked the trip!

That would be something wouldn't it? We are staying at Pop. I haven't been to Disney since I was about 5, so it's a whole wonderful experience for all of us. DH and the girls have never been.

Our Akershus ressie is 8:10. There's 7 of us going total and that's where we were able to fit. We are keeping the whole trip a secret from the girls but I'm bursting with excitement to tell them!
When I began reading the disboards it became very clear that there were 2 things I needed to do at Disney (well many others, but these stood out). One is to have a dole whip and the other is to have breakfast at Ohana. That's the first reservation I made :D

Was the 40% off from a PIN? Because I haven't been able to find that deal past Oct 2. We are currently booked at ASMusic Suite from Nov 12-20, but 40% off sounds interesting, and we have never done a split stay, so it might be fun.

I'm afraid it was...the Monster PIN. It's the first time we've gotten one, and we're splurging with a few days at the Poly. Still a bit expensive IMHO, but it will be fun to try. My AAA agent actually found that we would save money by using free dining while at Pop (this saved us more than the 40%). At the delux, we came out ahead using the 40% (as opposed to FD). In other words, we have two separate reservations, using a different discount for each. Hope that makes sense! :) P.S. The ASM suites sound great! Have fun!:goodvibes

This is going to be an amazing trip for your family! This will be our 3rd family trip, it has become an annual event! We are driving:scared1:...so we are not planning on telling our girls about it because that would make for one LONG drive and lots of "Are we there yet's"! But we do talk about it, so they seem to know that we will be going sometime.

We did an early Akershus ressie last year and enjoyed it. This year I'm letting my husband sleep a little longer as requested. So we have a couple later breakfasts scheduled! Who else besides your family is going?

And I definitely agree to try a dole whip! We tried it for the first time last year and they were amazing! I actually had a pineapple/pineapple dole whip float...sooo good! I have cravings for them no w! And this is our first 'Ohana breakfast...I'm very excited to try it o ut!

awww i'm so excited! That's amazing that you guys have made it an annual trip. I think if I knew we would be going more often, I'd be a little less stressed about making sure we did it all.

We contemplated driving as well, but figured the first time we would fly and then next time (if there is a next time :D) we could take some time and drive it. I heard about a book....driving the I-75 or something like that, that talks about great places to stop along the way.

I haven't decided when exactly to tell the girls we are going. I am really debating packing secretly right up until the morning our flight leaves and waking them up in the morning to "get ready for school" and telling them then...I just don't know if I can hold it in though :cool1:

lol my DH isn't necessarily a "morning person" (even though he leaves for work at 5:30 every morning) and doesn't eat much at breakfast on a normal day, so I don't know how well some of our early breakfasts will go over, but we will see :D The trip isn't about us anyways so I'll likely tell him to suck it up!

We are going to be travelling with friends of ours and their almost 4 year old. We are each planning a date night (something DH and I NEVER do). I just booked Narcoossees for an 8:45 dinner for the two of us so we can eat and enjoy the fireworks one night.

I am soooo excited to try the Ohana's breakfast! Then I read their dinner menu and thought is it too much to have breakfast AND dinner there on the same trip?? lol with so many other places to eat, I thought I should spread it around. My friend really wanted to get into Chef Mickey's, but I'm not having any luck. I'll keep trying though...someone is bound to cancel!

Gotta get headed off to work, but it is great to be able to "meet" someone who will be there when we will. Oh and where are you staying?

Since it wasn't decided that we were going to go for sure til early July, I slept on getting reservations.

Managed to get the Crystal Palace at MK for all 8 of us. I will keep checking maybe I can change to something else since everyone keeps telling me to avoid MK on turkey day.
