OFFICIAL NOVEMBER 2010 THREAD - Let the countdown begin!

Before you head over, you could either call the Grand Floridian yourself, or ask at the front desk of your hotel. They probably would know. Its sort of a big deal and is really popular.

Mindy

Yes, I was thinking and wondering if the front desk might know, I think I will try and check ahead of time, DH won't be a happy camper if I take him on a wild goose chase :rotfl2:

Me, my mom and Josh will be there November 10-14. Not sure where we are staying yet because we are going to be with a BIG group of people. Chldren's Miracle Network has a Champions program. Each year a child is chosen from each state to be the Champion for that year. Josh is the Champion for Missouri this year (we live in Illinois but he is treated at a St. Louis Hospital). We already got to go on a Champions trip to Washington DC and are REALLY looking forward to the WDW trip in November!!!! In Washington the kids had Champion shirts that they wore everywhere. So if you see a huge group of people and the kids have CMN Champion shirts on, come say HI!!!!!

That is so wonderful ! Give your DS Josh a big hug and congratulations , You never know I just might see you there we will be there Nov 8 to 13th

We are going Nov 14-21st staying at Bonnet Creek. My parents are coming with us. We have been down altogether before but my sisters family was with us. So it will be nice to spend the time with just my mom and dad KWIM.

Hi, the photo is from November 2007 when we went down the week of Thanksgiving. I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that with MVMCP going on, they'll have holiday decorations up by then, and that would probably include the gingerbread house. That photo only shows half of it. It was rather large, smelled awesome and they sold refreshments from it with some very lucky cast members getting to work inside it all day.... MMMMmmmmmm:santa:

I am so excited about this!!! I thought we would miss it. I really feels like this trip will be like going for the first time. There will be so many "firsts" for us.:santa:

Time is going by so fast! ADRs are made, itinerary is done now just NEED A GODD CODE!! Here's to hoping for a free dining!!

:yay:

There's a few things that I *miss* about this trip, but am NOT complaining. Since we are going with Children's Miracle Network, I have no idea where we are staying and we don't have the flexibility to make our own ADR's. I think that we are going to be "moving as a group" and most meals are planned for us. Since I really have no idea what the itinerary is, I don't know where we'll be when!! So its a little bit of a different excitement--the "not knowing" excitement. I'm usually the one that does all the planning for our trips, so this is weird for me. But like I said, I'm NOT complaining at all--its just a different sort of adventure!!!!

Count me in guys!!

We are going Nov 23-27 Thanksgiving. We looked at a off site location that we stayed at in 2004

Oooh where did you book your Thanksgiving dinner? Did you get an ADR for that? We've got Chef Mickey!! So excited...:yay:

We finally booked our trip - going Nov 12-20th staying at the Poly. First time visit for all but me, and I haven't been in 24 years. We are SO excited.:cool1:

Haven't made any ADRs yet, but I assume I'd better get going. Which Princess meals are best - any opinions? Cinderella's table, the one at Epcot or 1900 Park Fare?

You can read reviews on dining on wdwinfo.com and on allears.net.com . It really depends what you're looking for in a meal and Princess interaction. I did a breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and there weren't any princesses. Just Pooh, Tigger, Alice (not a princess), Mary Poppins, Mad Hatter.. I think that was it. Review the menus carefully. These meals are too expensive to bother if you're not going to get a meal your child will eat. My daughter had a lovely time meeting Snow White, and she spent a good amount of time with her outside the Germany pavilion. No meal necessary. Jasmine can be found near Morocco and Cinderella near France (that's where we found her). Think about whether buffet or ordering from a menu suits you. I think the castle meal is a plated meal but you don't get to choose (like at a wedding). The reviews can be very helpful, but make sure they're fairly recent.

Thank you so much for your suggestions. It is fun to look at the menus. My daughter is very keen to do a meal with princesses so we will try one, but boy is it tough to choose! I have been trying to go online to check on things but disneyworld.com will NOT accept my password and it's driving me nuts. Anyone else having issues?

Where are you staying this time birthday ladies? My birthday is in November too, but 3 weeks before our trip.

We are going November 7-13!! We took our DD last year for her 2nd birthday and my 36th and this year we're going a week earlier to avoid the Thanksgiving rush. We've become Christmas Disney people. It's so amazing when it's all decorated for Christmas. <3 We can't wait!
We've have our ADR for Cinderella's Castle and Chef Mickey's. We went to Chef Mickey's last year and had such a wonderful time.

We are booked for Nov 18 - Nov 26 and staying at pop. This will be the first trip where we are actually there on a holiday so I'm not all the way ready for the crowds. We are booked for Le Cellier for thanksgiving dinner but we may need to go somewhere else if our party size increases by 2 in-laws. I told them to decided soon We have to make changes.

We went to Disney for Thanksgiving in 2007. That year the crowds were quite manageable, but I"m comparing it to spring break, which was just plain crazy and July 09 which was wild! Early in the week, prior to Thanksgiving day, it really wasn't bad at all. It just got busy on Friday and saturday. That's what I"m hoping for this year. We've got Chef Mickey for Thanksgiving dinner. If your in-laws join you, and you have to switch ADR's, I recommend you give Whispering Canyon a try. We did that one with a party of 8 for 2007's Thanksgiving dinner. We had a nice round table in a private alcove by a fireplace, it was perfect!

We are scheduled to go to Whispering Canyon eariler that week. I'm sure I wouldn't mind going back for a second time. We are going to be in Epcot that day so my thought was to try to stay inside epcot for dinner. That is going to be our 2nd epcot day and slow epcot day where we will be just hanging out mostly in future world. I'm guessing that thanksgiving day should be packed.. We get in the thursday before thanksgiving so our plan is to hit the majority of attractions before tuesday when we think the crowds will come. The take it slow the rest of the week.

We will be there November 28 through December 4th. So excited! It is myself, DH and DS (2). His second trip :) Cannot wait to see his expressions with the Osbourne Lights!!

Nov 7-13 for us at WL. Celebrating our 13th anniv. Time is speeding by.. But RileysMom if I lived in Myrtle Beach I would have a hard time going anywhere..lol We are going there first in Aug to do our annual beach trip

I just returned from a quickie trip where I booked a bounceback. :cool1:

My DD2 and I will be staying at POFQ. This is my first trip during this time frame so I'm looking forward to the holiday feel. :)

Debating doing the MVMCP, but odds are I might.
