OFFICIAL New Animal Kingdom Experiences UPDATE 5/28: Reports from first night in Post #2

I noticed on the website that it says dining plans accepted for the TH Jungle Book packages, but then in my confirmation via email it says this restaurant does not participate in the Disney dining plan. Can anyone clarify? When I got the 5:45pm reso for the Jungle Book package, I cancelled my previous regular reservation that was at 6pm. That one definitely was covered with 1 TS credit. Thanks!
Expect glitches. I'm 99.98% confident that it will be covered by the dining plan.

I'm so excited, just happened to sign on today and see reports that this could be booked. We originally had a Tiffins Dinner Dining Pkg booked, but decided to go FP+ instead....We would end up spending considerably more money than necessary. We are entree only diners so the fixed price would total us far above what we would spend including the kids meals. Not such a bad deal if you prefer to order all three courses. We got a FP+ for the Nightime Safari after the JB show! Cant wait.

i can't find this anywhere... how much additional is the cost for the Tusker House dining package for the Jungle Book show over just a straight dinner?

It's a packaged meal. Here's what it includes
  • Lunch or Dinner: $67 for adults and $32 for children 9 years of age and younger (tax and gratuity not included)
  • Includes your choice of appetizer, entrée, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage
  • Disney Dining Plan eligible
Please note that while Tiffins is available for lunch and dinner with this dinner package, you must dine at this location no later than 2-and-a-half hours prior to your designated performance time.
Any ideas about why they have this statement yet offer an ADR for 7:00, for the first show? It is not 2.5 hours before a 9:00 show

I just wonder if there will be anyone who will ever actually know the answer to this question...lol! Like I have no idea who at Disney to ask! I guess, if no info before our AK day, I could ask the CMs at the ride earlier in the evening. Ugh.

Thanks for the reply!
We've had anytime FP and you can't use them if an attraction is closed. They are only good anytime the ride is operating

Got TH breakfast package reservations for 10:30. I had been considering doing breakfast there even before JB was announced with the package. But now I'm wondering if I can be in AK from 10:30 am to 9:30 pm. Is there enough to do? Every time I've gone it's closed at 5:00. I'm wondering if we'll be ready to leave by 6:30. Anyone thinking something similar?

Animal Kingdom is actually one of my favorite Disney Theme Parks. I can spend quite a while there. I am a huge Lion King fan (if you can't tell by my profile pic), so I love seeing the Festival of the Lion King and usually see that twice in one day. I like looking at the animals. Also, I like all of the rides at the Animal Kingdom. It's not rare for me to go to Animal Kingdom and ride Expedition Everest at least twice. Now that they are adding many experiences at night, this easily can be an all day park for me (some people might disagree with me).

Like Supersnoop said, I think it's a typo. My email days the same thing about "This restaurant does not participate in a Disney Dining Plan."

In that same email under Reminders it says, "This experience requires 1 Table Service Meal when using Disney Dining Plan." Literally every other source says it's dining plan acceptable. All the news sources, bloggers, Disney's own website, and CM's by phone say DDP is good to go. You can always call dining if you have doubts.

Thanks so much! Just booked Tiffin's and JB 1st show for May 30. It's so exciting! I hope the food is good.

Our trip is not til August, and I'm hoping to book FP+ for JB, not tye dinner package. I know a lot of people are currently booking their dinner packages for August. Should I be worried about not being able to get a FP when my 60 day window opens up? Or do they usually reserve X amount for dinner packages, and X amount for FP's?

They should leave a set amount of fastpasses. The show will have three viewing areas (dining, fastpass, standby), so your chances of getting a fastpass should be fine.

Asia is ALL FP+ seating with Dinoland shared by Dining Packages and Standby,so Dining Packages have no effect on FP+ availability.:)

Question I know probably won't be able to be answered (since the restaurant hasn't opened yet) but at Tiffins for the lamb chop entree would I be able to substitute the lentils for say couscous? (Are signature restaurants good at substituting in general) I'm a picky eater and well lentils don't sound very appealing to me...

I've substituted sides at several signature restaurants. Usually they prefer to swap "sets" of sides and not individual items, but if you insist, they'll probably be willing to do just the one item.

We have AK on our plans for 9/8. What will be happening then? Possible ROL? Any idea when they will know? We get to resort on 9/5, and I searched for an ADR for TH or Tiffins that night and nothing. I would buy an extra day in the parks for it :) But there were CRT ones available, so I am assuming it isn't sold out that day? Could it be they have not made solid plans that far? Anyone have an adr for later than 5 on 9/5?
