"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

We have APs and plan on entering MK earlier than 4pm (most likely for a late lunch/some rides before the party).. will there be a certain area that they will be handing out the wristbands in the park that we can grab, or are there checkpoints or something? This is our first time going! TIA! :)

We are in the same situation--I plan on going to Guest Services to get our bands. We need to go the Firehouse to get our SOTMK party cards/packs of cards anyway. I will be asking a CM when we enter if I can do any of this earlier in the day. I'll be reading answers to your question to see if there is an easier way.

For the Halloween party, bands seem to be given out 10-15 earlier for those who enter at the front around 3:45. In the park they seem to be waiting until exactly 4 based on reports. I assume Christmas parties will be similar.

We are attending the Dec. 18 party, my 2 kids, my mom and me. We are all staying at WL but my mom is using her DVC points and we are not. I bought our party tickets and have her as part of my group on MDE, but how do I attach her ticket to her MB? Do I need to link her DVC reservation to mine?

I also have 1 more question. We're only going to be at WDW for 4 days, so this will be our only park time. My kids only care about going on rides. I've watched the fireworks and parade on YouTube and I have to say I was not that impressed. I love Christmas, but compared to Hallowishes and regular Wishes (I have seen both in person and online), I thought the fireworks were a little lackluster. Same with the parade, I love the Boo to You parade, but the Christmas one looked like it was lacking the originality and "fun" aspect that Boo to You has. Are they both much better in person? I'm torn between making my kids stop to watch both or using that time to see characters or go on rides instead.

We almost skipped WOC at DCA and Paint the Night at Disneyland because I wasn't impressed when I saw them on YouTube, but we gave both a chance anyway and loved them. I've read the 2015 MVMCP thread and the current MNSSHP thread, and I just don't hear people raving about the fireworks and parade during MVMCP like they do for MNSSHP, but yet I don't want to skip them if the YouTube videos don't do them justice. But since this is our only park day, I'm going to have 2 very annoyed kids if I make them stop riding SM to watch an okay fireworks show and parade.

Nothing is "on" a Magic Band - they're just a link to access what's in your MDE account. If her tickets are attached to her profile in your MDE account, then her Magic Band will be able to access them.

I'm hoping to get a green and red magic band this year to match our attire - I'm gonna have to find new outfits for next year as I don't wanna do same all the time

I'm actually looking forward to the new show...

I wonder what like Hocus Pocus can Disney do that draws people...that Hocus Pocus show is amazing.

A Beauty and the Beast Christmas show based off their Christmas special could be very popular, especially with the new movie coming out.

I would love to see something based off Muppet's Christmas Carol, some really great original songs in that one.

Excellent ideas! The soundtrack to my Christmas is home alone but that's without a doubt too violent for Disney to ever adapt.

I have a question! I have my lunch at the crystal palace the night I go to the party and I want to take a snack in the evening. I want to know what is the best snack to take so I can eat it quickly to not lost time

Touring Plans has the Frozen castle lighting listed at 6:15 and 7:30. I believe the 7:30 is only for non-party nights. Someone will correct me if I'm mistaken. There is also a show in Tomorrowland that repeats through the night.
Nope its both times, party nights included

We like to visit in the off season (Jan-feb typically) but this year bought AP. Airfare is pretty low so we were considering switching our long Jan trip into 2 and going in Dec to attend mvmcp and stay for 3 days then head back for 4 days or so in Feb as opposed to a week all at once in Jan. Is the party and Christmas decor worth the extra travel time?
Absolutely!

We stayed at WL last year the week before Thanksgiving and IT IS BEAUTIFUL at Christmas! With that said, I'm not sure what to tell you on the attractions. First of all,I love, loved, LOVED the parade and fireworks. Yes, there is a different "feel" between it and Boo To You (love that one too) but the holidays are "different". The Christmas parade is beautiful and "winter cozy"...I'm trying to find the right words to describe it. :goodvibes And then there's the snow on Main Street :jumping1:! Plus...you have all the different character greetings and shows. I really hate to see you spend the extra money just to spend the evening on the attractions that are always there. Other than Jungle Cruise...which becomes "Jingle Cruise"...the attractions don't change. At last years party, DGD's didn't even request an attraction...way to much new, different things to experience. With that said, IF you must do attractions, I would save them for the end of the evening. Enjoy the early parade (I recommend Frontierland for viewing), the fireworks (the Castle show is AWESOME), the Castle lighting, the shows...character greetings would be the only thing I might skip if your family has no interest in that. Good luck with your decision and enjoy your trip! :tink:
