"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

It all depends on your preference. Some people like Main St. Some like in front of the Castle. Some like Frontier Land. They all have their benefits.

Main St. - If you get your spot and can have over 50% (my version of a fair courtesy, not a steadfast rule) of your group to set up shop, the rest can go shopping and get snacks. Plus there is the snow(p).

The Castle - Though there are deep lines, it can accommodate a good amount of people. But, because of room, you won't feel too pushed or shoved or have too many people trying to jockey for position on you. Plus, you are at the Hub. You can go anywhere you want afterwards.

Frontier Land - You get to see the parade 1st. It does seem a little tighter than the other 2 spots. But, if you are into photography, it is darker than the other 2 spots and to me, that makes the floats and performers stand out a bit more. Also, if you're lucky, you can get a rocking chair.

Last time we were there for the daytime parade, we had great success watching the parade from upstairs in the train station. Is that a good strategy for the Christmas parade, or would it require spending too much party time holding our spots?

i must be doing something wrong with regard to booking FP. I have party tickets for Dec 6. I see them in the MDE page but when I click on FP reservations I don't see where to make the selections. Any advise?

We did the exact same thing in 2014.
But I remember reading somewhere on hear that that is now a reserved VIP area. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

On iPhone now so I can't see your full Sig. Are you staying onsite at a Disney resort? FP+ booking opens at 60 days for all onsite guests. 30 days for offsite.

oh maybe that's the reason. we are staying onsite starting the 8th (offsite from the 4-8). do you think it will show up on oct 8th?

A rocking chair? That sounds awesome. Where might I find those?

My onsite stay starts Dec. 10 and my FP+ day is Tuesday, Oct 11th. That would mean your FP+ day is Sunday, Oct. 9th. FP+ booking opens up at 7am EST. so you should see your FP+ booking open up then.

Thank you so much for your reply!

That's very helpful!

In the past where have pictures been with:

Mickey and Minnie (together?)
Duffy
Seven Dwarfs

TIA!

I can't wait for the schedule to come out so I can finally get a handle on this! We are going for the first time and I'm a little nervous about waiting in line for unusual characters and catching the shows/attractions bc my kids won't make it until midnight. Maybe 10pm.

I agree. Waiting on that schedule myself. I would think it would be released soon. Does anyone have an idea when the party schedule will be released?

I'm on the fence about buying tickets for either the Thursday, Nov 10 party or the Sunday, Nov 13 party. Initially, my thinking that Thursday will be less crowded than a Sunday night. However, there's Veterans Day on Fri, Nov 11, so maybe the Thursday night would be crowded since the next day is a holiday and start of a 3 day weekend? If you had a choice, which day would you go? :santa:

I intially wanted a Tuesday myself because of the DVC discount but it didn't work out since Tuesday night is evening EMH for EPCOT. I am now doing a Sunday night. That's what we did last time and it wasn't too bad.

How does it work if this is the only event you are going to? Do you get a magic band? I've heard stories of ppl getting fast passes from 4-7? Is that true even if you only have a ticket to the party?

You get Magic Bands for staying on property. You can use your party ticket to get FPs, but they have to be scheduled from 3:30-6:30 - if they're scheduled for after 6:30 they'll get canceled. (You can't get into MK with a party ticket until 4:00 though, so you really only have from 4:00-4:30 to use the first one.)

Quick question - I just bought our tickets and selected will call instead of print at home because it's a surprise trip. Do I HAVE to pick up tickets? Won't they be connected to my magic band?
