We booked directly through Disney and the CM told me to start looking for it about 40 days out. And of course the CM's are NEVER wrong!! :rolleyes1 In years past though, I do remember getting it sometime around 30-40 days out. I think we are just overly excited. When you have been counting down from the high 100's (or MORE) and you are FINALLY within 6 weeks, it seems like it has been an ETERNITY!! :rotfl:

lol don't I know it, we booked our trip way back in mid-December!!

We booked end of December, but it really does seem like years ago!!! I keep finding more things to book (thought I was done months ago!! :lmao:) that I want to do!!! If this doesn't hurry up and get here, I am going to be up to my armpits in ADR's and other fun stuff!!!

Question of the Day:

Tell us your tips and experiences with the "other" parks and attractions at WDW: Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Disney Quest, Golf, Mini Golf, and everything else!

The Water Parks are fabulous!! On a busy day we like to be there as close to opening as possible to avoid long lines at the big slides. I enjoy a half day or so at each one. My husband and my son could go every single day of the trip though!
We love DTD.. and dd and I went to see Cirque on our last trip. My best tip for Cirque is that any seat in the house is a good seat, and you'd probably prefer a higher/less expensive seat because you can see everything a bit better! We were worried about our category 3 seats.. and they were absolutely great!

I have 32 days til I arrive at WDW, however... my holiday/trip actually begins a week before so I have 25 days until I leave merry-old-England , as everyone else says I cant quite believe it! We've been chipping away at booking and paying for different things for about 8 months and it doesnt feel like it's time yet!
I do wish I'd stuck to my diet a lot better but other than that cant complain! :cool1:

Warning: I'm catastrophizing! (psychobabble term for overreacting and going waayyy down the worst-case-scenario route...)

I just went to book our fireworks dessert party which was to be the pinacle of our trip, the last night there, ending with a bang, blah blah... and it is sold out. And since it's June 1, of course all of May is already sold out.

So, I understand logically that I can still hop to MK, we can still buy and eat tons of desserts and watch the fireworks... and DD-turning-five won't know the difference...

But I have been planning this trip for a YEAR, knowing that the actual trip would be nowhere near as much fun as the planning and dreaming and imagining, and here is the first crack in the dream. Boohiss.

So anybody got any suggestions to save the day... or the night, rather? Our plan was to spend the day at Animal Kingdom, then have dinner at Rainforest Cafe when AK closes, and return to MK for the fireworks... if there's no chance for the dessert party now, how to make it as magical as possible?

We leave the next morning, so no chance to go on a different date :(

Zhoen--have you looked at the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Cruise? I'm not sure if it is running that night or not, but it is a lot of fun.

You meet at the Contemporary, where they have tons of snacks and drinks laid out, and you get to meet Captain Hook and Mr Smee.

Then, you board one of two boats and head out. They sing songs, play trivia, and watch the water parade before heading over to MK to watch Wishes.

I've never done the dessert party, so I can't compare, but our girls LOVED the cruise. You don't get fancy desserts, but the snacks are plentiful and you can have as much as you want....we went home from WDW with some of the snacks still!

Hope that helps!!! I know how stressful it can be when you have your heart set on something and it doesn't work.

23 more days for us and we got Mickey Mail on Saturday. I wasn't expecting anything over here in England but we got a little parcel that included our Firework vouchers and a couple of money off vouchers for TS restaurants like Raglan Road and Planet Hollywood
Also included was our 'free' $150 gift card, mum and I can't wait to spend it :)

Yes, try the Pirates and Pals fireworks Cruise. We are doing this on our fist night, since we won't be going to any parks that day! So excited, we are going to just show up at the contemporary and the kids will be surprised.
In addition to all the treats before, there are characters and shhh PeterPan meets you on the dock at the end. :cool1:

We have the Pirates & Pals voyage booked for our final night at the World...I am so excited for the event! My TA showed me pics when she and her sons went and it looked like a lot of fun!

Another option is just to book Crystal Palace about a half hour before Wishes starts and then just step out on to the veranda when the show starts. The dessert party in my experience was a stone ripoff so perhaps you might consider yourself lucky you didn't book it ;)

IS IT TIME TO GO YET???!!!

Sigh. No.
17 more days.
I booked a hotel for the night before we fly today. We have an early a.m. flight so it will be nice to be right near the airport when we wake up instead of the hour long drive and border crossing at 4 or 5 in the morning.

Arranged the cat sitter, refilled prescriptions, and starting the packing lists.

I am sure I will have more than enough to do to keep me busy for the next 2 and half weeks. I just wish it was now.:rolleyes1

35 days! Which seems like a long time, but considering I have to finish my master's degree and graduate in that time period, I'm grateful it's that far away. :thumbsup2

My DBF and I are staying at the All-Star Music from May 14-18, so it's not a long trip, but he's never been, so I'm starting him off slow. He likes Disney, but he's not addicted like me (yet!). I'm so excited and nervous to see his reactions! In my mind, I'm convinced he'll love it, but I'm nervous that I'm building it up too much and he'll expect way more than what we're doing. I told him yesterday that if he felt like I was going off the Disney deep-end, to feel free to let me know to shut up. BUT I'M SO EXCITED!!

Oh, me too! We leave on May 14, but I have one exam, one final, RN pinning ceremony, and graduation before then! When I am stressed with school I tend to go into Disney planning mode...:confused3...must be a coping mechanism.

We will be so excited to be there in 35 days and have all these next few weeks behind us!:)
