****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

IS IT TIME TO GO YET???!!!

Sigh. No.
17 more days.

I am sure I will have more than enough to do to keep me busy for the next 2 and half weeks. I just wish it was now.:rolleyes1

Just about there though :) I know because I'm at 17 days too. It's so close I can almost taste it now. HAHAHA - maybe it's b/c we made Dole whips the other day ;)

19 more days for me!!!! I can not wait any longer:goodvibes

yippeeeeee!!! I'm 2 days ahead of you so right there with you on the excitement. It won't be long now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SSooooo,
DD and I have all our clothes set out!!! HAHA. I guess we will be living on a limited wardrobe for the next 2 weeks and 3 days. :lmao:
24 days and I cannot sleep at night! I'm finalizing our itineraries and trying to lose some weight. I know this time is going to fly by but each day seems to be taking forever!
So what's everybody's 1st day plans??
We'll get to POR right before lunchtime and we're planning on hitching a ride on the DTD shuttle boat for lunch at WPE and some shopping and maybe a stop at Giardelli:lovestruc before heading back to the resort and catching YeeHah Bob's show that night. It's just me and DH this trip so we'll have no kids to entertain:thumbsup2
We arrive at MCO at 1:20 so I am planning on getting to the CR by 3:20 (giving a 2 hour window in case of any delays). I'm hoping that we can check in at this time and head to the room. We will probably check out the pool for a few hours and decompress or head to DTD depending on how tired everyone is. We have 6:40pm ADR's over at 'OHana so we can't venture too far!
23 days left!:woohoo:
These next few days should be fun for me since I've reached the point where I can start planning what clothes to pack. (I make this really intricate and detailed spreadsheet. :sad2::rotfl2:) Tomorrow, I'm using a gift card I've been holding on to to buy a few more outfits for the trip. :cool1:
I'm so ready to be in Disney! When I woke up this morning, the first thing I thought was, "In just a few weeks, I'll be waking up and getting ready to head to Rock N Roller Coaster...not waking up to make breakfast for the hubs.":laughing:
Does anybody remember when last year they slightly revised the park hours for May?
I thought I remembered them adding a few more EMH's?
Of course I may be totally crazy.
19 Days = Work days left :)
28 Days = Last day of work :goodvibes
1 Month = till we land in Florida :cool1: :banana: :cool1:
I believe that was to compensate for Grad Night closures?
I'm trying to lose a few more pounds too - it's been VERY hard over Easter though :( Time to pick it up a notch now that the meals and candy are gone!!
Just travel :( Air, car, groceries and to bed early so I'll focus more on our first park day which will be rope drop at MK :)
Have fun shopping!!! and packing too! We have a bunch packed already too - even clothes!!!
When I woke up this morning the first thing I thought was - I have to go turn on Splash Mountain on D-COT to start my day in a happy way. DD thinks that song sounds like a looney bin!:rotfl2: Am I the ONLY person on earth who loves it??? lol
Ya, I'm wondering if there will be some last minute changes too :confused3
I had to post to see my tickers say ONE MONTH!
I'm so focused on this upcoming trip I keep forgetting that I'm graduating in only 3 weeks! Which means finals and massive projects are all underway:headache:...but I just want to think about Disney and nothing else!!
So what's everybody's 1st day plans??
We land in MCO about 5pm, after a 9 hour flight. I'm hoping to be at CSR by 7pm (room or not), then we're going to bus over the DTD for dinner at Raglan Road at 8pm. We'll be feeling it as it'll feel 1am to us, but hopefully this will keep us awake until 10ish when we get back to the rooms so we're not up at 4am the next morning!
Our first real day will be Hollywood Studios followed by dinner at EPCOT.
First day plans are to check in to AKL after moving over from Universal, and head over to DTD to have dinner out of pocket (saving credits for the rest of the week) at none other than Wolfgang Puck Express:thumbsup2
It's become our first night tradition. So far we always sit out on the patio and people watch and soak in our first taste of Disney:)
Last February(2011) we were in line to order and dd who was 14 at the time snapped at me to "Stop rushing me to order!!!!" when I asked her what she wanted. Then she burst into tears.
VERY odd behaviour for her. I spent a few minutes thinking she was tired until I looked at her glassy eyes and felt her forehead and quickly realized she had a raging fever. Turns out after a trip to the walk in clinic she had Strep throat.
So.. not all of our first night at WPE memories are happy ones, but it's tradition anyways.
*BTW, she felt better within a few days and it was a 12 day trip so we still had an awesome time:)
Sounds like an awesome first day for you!! :cool1:
We unfortunately waited too long on getting our airfare and got stuck with an evening flight. Not getting to MCO until around 8pm. But luckily Epcot is having EMH that night and we plan to check in at the BC, throw our bags in the room, and run over to Epcot!!
Well our trip begins in April. April 28-May 6. Last week I went to check on the park hours (I hadn't looked at them in months) and they had added PM EMH for Epcot on the 28th and had also extended AK's hours by an hour on the 28th, 29th, and 30th. No changes to May yet, but it might be coming soon. :)
24 days for us! I am as bad (honestly probably worse) than the kids with the can't we go yet syndrome. I take the link off our countdown chain myself most days! I can't believe they don't do it before they eat breakfast (at 6:30 in the morning)!!!
I am going to go ahead & start packing our clothes too. I had the kids shirts packed (all new Disney shirts) but held off on their shorts and my clothes because we had unseasonably warm weather up here and I didn't want to pack it all up but now it's COLD again.
We are scheduled to arrive at 10 so I figure to resort by 11:30, 12 at the latest. After some lunch we are going to head to MK to see the castle and get our Mickey ears, just take in the atmosphere, and have dinner. There's no way as early as we're getting there and this being our first trip I can do anything else.
Thanks everyone for the prayers... My grandma has beaten the odds! :dance3: She had a 30% survival rate, and made it anyway! We couldn't be more thrilled!
On top of that, I got MICKEY MAIL! :cheer2: I'm adding the luggage tags as soon as I'm done typing!
The first day, we arrive in the afternoon, so we're basically going to meet everyone in our group, go on a few rides, and eat dinner. Nothin' fancy.
We are driving from NC, so we are expecting to get in at about 4-5pm. (hopefully). We will check in at Pop and unload, organize the room. The plan is to hang around the resort and eat there.
Last year, we had an ADR at Raglan Road on our arrival night and it did not go well. We were all so tired and it was so loud. Let's just say, there were tears. :guilty:
We are going to get to bed early, for our first day (at Epcot!!) :woohoo:
I cannot wait.
So what's everybody's 1st day plans??
We land at 11:20am. We'll get our rental vehicle and then head straight to MK!!! Can't wait to see MIL's face when she steps foot on Main Street! We have a 2:45pm lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern and then I booked the Dessert Party for that night (and I'm not telling ANYONE so it'll be a big surprise!)
Since we'll be up from 2am that morning until probably at least midnight when we get to the Red Roof Inn for our one night sleep there.. we will be beat! Then it's back up at 6:30 the next morning to hit up Epcot for an early breakfast. I don't think there's a day in my plans that we sleep past 7:00! Go big or go home! :rotfl2:
We will be arriving around 11 to Wilderness Lodge. Hopefully our room will be ready and we've got a reservation for Whispering Canyon, then it's off to Magic Kingdom!
