****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

So I just had to change my dates, so now we get to go a week earlier :cheer2: New dates are April 28 - May 5.

Hello fellow DISers! I have been posting on the April thread but thought I would pop in here since our trip is April 27th to May 4th. It will be myself, DH and DD, age 10 on this trip. We originally booked CSR, then switched to POR. Then last weekend we decided to change our reservation to a royal room and I can't wait! 59 days and counting! :woohoo:

and where would one find this DIS radio??? :confused3 and does it include songs by those teenie boppers that i can't stand?? I would like just songs from the parks if it is possible :thumbsup2

Hello Dis Radio is sponsered by this board and can be found if you scroll down to the bottom of this page on the right side (just click where it says Dis Radio in yellow/red/black)
And NO really teeny boppers - songs from the parks, rides, shows, parades, fireworks and sometimes movies -- it's good!

MY GOD I never even noticed that link for the DIS radio. Now I know what I'll be listening to until May! lol

Wow! Look at all the new May Disers! I will make sure to update the first page at lunch today.

WELCOME! :)

It's official, okay it's been official for two years now, but since I plunked down the credit card to buy park passes today that was the official start to our trip. OUch!!! passes are the largest cost.

We are going to be there about May 1 to 15th, I say about heh, aboot, because we're driving from the Toronto area and we'll either stop for sights along the way, or book it. We have a house rental set up, but have alternative plans if we are there early. We have to leave on the 15th, but again have time for a long drive home.

Some of us are driving, some are flying. The trip has been in the planning based on two kids graduating in the same year, however, one isn't going to graduate on time and thought that was going to affect the trip but they've now realized that the graduation was just a ploy to get to do a Disney trip because I want to go!

I've been to Disney 4 times, the kids when they were little but we haven't been there in 14 years. So much has changed, mostly, in using the internet to plan. I vaguely remember reading a UseNet group to plan the last time, that sound ancient.

The last time we went the Jungle Cruise was closed for refurbishment so it's a Must Do, and also Test track was closed, I guess we'll have to plan a future Disney trip to catch that one.

Oh my GOSH!!! How on earth did I not know that???:confused3 I have searched online a few times for some music to listen to while I plan and could only find stations with teenie bopper music mixed in. LOL Either that or I couldn't get access in Canada - I hope that's not the case with this ne too. I will give it a try today.

Just wanted to pop on and see my ticker that starts with a "1" now!!! :cool1:
LOL - isn't that AWESOME?!?!?!?!

Hello fellow Canadian :) I'm a ways away though in SK. I will be down the same time as you!!! April 26 - May 15 (WDW will be April 27 - May 5 mostly). We'll have to compare park dates soon to see if we have a chance of running into each other :goodvibes
Happy Planning - the new and improved way! ;)

Sunday, 04/29 - Epcot
Monday,04/30 - AK (breaksfast at Tusker House), resort in the evening
Tuesday, 05/01 - MK
Wednesday, 05/02 - HS (lunch at Sci-Fi Dine-in)
Thursday 05/03 - Blizzard Beach - Disney Quest in the evening
Friday, 05/04 - Hotel in the morning until our flight leaves

:cheer2: Yes, finally got our flight tickets! :cheer2: I've been watching the Alaska Air partners for months and the price dropped to the lowest I've seen since I've been tracking for this trip. $350! Not the best price I've ever had but with gas prices going up, I jumped on it! :cheer2:

One more step down to making the trip feel "really real." Next step is to pay off the trip and last step is to pack my suitcase. :woohoo:

All Star Music 28 April - 4 May!! So excited!:banana:

similar days to us!! We'll have to compare park days too :) :)

I can't believe I didn't post on here forever ago. We've had our trip planned for over 6 months now! But now that it's finally getting closer, it feels more real. So I thought I'd join in on the party. :woohoo: We're going May 23-Jun 1 and are staying at Pop. :goodvibes

Originally we were going with our neighbors on their first-ever trip, but it doesn't look like they're going to be able to afford it after all. So now we're down to just the four of us. Unfortunately, that means I have to start all over on my ADRs!! :scared1:

Getting soo excited!!!! Flights are booked and we ended up adding an extra night!!! We'll be arriving on May 22nd instead of the 23rd...need to change my ticker! :cool1:

Getting excited reading all these posts...Here it goes! May 5-12th

What are you Celebrating?
Family Trip! Myself, My BF and his twin boy (2 1/2 :scared1:) , My dad, My mom, and my two sisters! My first time going to Disney with toddlers...should be fun! ;)

Are you a pin collector?
NO I am not.

What is your first full day plan?
Our flight gets in around 1:30, If the little ones don't nap on the plane...DOWN THEY GO, while my mom and I go grocery shopping. We have a 7pm reservation at Chef Mickey's. Our FIRST FULL day will consist of Rope drop at MK, with dinner at Ohanas!

What Resort did you pick and why?
Shades of Green, my dad is retired military. Couldn't beat the location and the price. Before my family chose to tag along, we were booked in the Caribbean Beach Pirate room.

What is your #1 Tip for 1st time visitors?
Stop and smell the roses. Disney is more then just rides.

Will you drive/fly or take the train to WDW?
Fly! I do not want to waste ANY time in a car! :)

I called this morning on a whim to see if I had any pin codes attached to my name. Guess what? We did! Free dining but only at certain deluxe resorts. The castmember I spoke with was extremely rude and would cut me off whenever I tried asking any questions. The figures she gave me seemed really high though. Once I got off the phone, I went to the Disney site and started running numbers and I simply can't make any of her numbers work. Guess I'll have to call back during my lunch hour and hope I get a castmember in a better mood and willing to answer any questions I have.

I can't believe they already are selling bathing suits, where I am. We have 4 feet of snow. :lmao: Oh well, atleast the sun tan lotion was on sale!

So close, and yet, so far...
