Official May 2011 thread!

I'm not parkhopping. It's not worth it when I'm only going to be in the parks for 4 days. My plan is this:

May 9th - Arrive and go to MK for evening EMH (2am woo!)

May 10th - MK, Jelly Rolls

May 11th - Epcot, Lunch @ Tokyo Dining, Dinner @ CG for Wishes

May 12th - MGM and then fly home

I don't really have any ADRs because I'm going to be alone and it will be easier just to grab a quick meal, but I want to try TD and CG.

We didn't do any water parks 2 years ago and we aren't again this year. We are staying at CBR and take an afternoon break everyday to swim at the pool. We'll save the water park for when they are a little older and ready for extreme water park day.

We also didn't do park hoppers last trip and don't plan to again this year. We are early risers, so we hit rope drop every day. Rode lots of rides with little waits, got a Fastpass as soon as our time was ready for getting the next one. Left the park after lunch to swim, nap and regroup. After dinner we went back to the same park, used up our FP, rode more rides & watched fireworks.

It worked beautifully for us. We are planning to do the same thing for our trip in May.

We will be there May 28 - June 3 staying at BCV in a 2 bedroom. It will be dh, my 3 youngest kids, dsil, her son and his wife. Looking forward to a mostly adults trip this year. We also are going to venture over to US and IOA for 2 days. Usually we stick with Disney but WWOHP is drawing us over there for a look see.

Adults only trips are wonderful! That's what we did in 2008 and are doing again in May. No whining (for the most part!), you don't have to worry about anyone needing a nap (for the most part!), you can eat ANYwhere (and don't have to make sure they serve chicken fingers, hamburgers & fries or mac & cheese), you can stay as late as you want and as DD#1 said last trip "I can DRINK at Disney World!!" (She got a Lapu, Lapu and I never did. In May for sure!)
Enjoy your trip!

We are going to Disney at the beginning of May but I can't tell ANYONE because it's a surprise. SOOOOO....I figured I would share it here with you guys!

That's awesome! I know it has to be hard to keep it from everyone. I'm only keeping it from my 4 and 6 year old, but thankfully not hubby! Good luck and have a great trip! :cool1:

Oh my hubby knows about it but he doesn't quite share my excitement so I'm all alone here. AND...I have to minimize the screen everytime my 8 year old comes in the room! :rotfl:

We're going in May =)

We'll be there May 7th-14th staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jambo House.

Can't wait!!

I'm going around the "World" from May 15-21 (then two days at Universal). Anyone looking for a park buddy around those dates?

P.S.: Star Tours 2 is scheduled to open that week!

Just booked our trip. We are going May 25-Jun 1. Staying at AllStar Music and doing the waterpark option. We haven't been to the waterparks in several years so I'm excited about that. I was suprised at how easy it was to get my ADRs since they had offered free dining for this period back in Dec.

My DH and I are going to be at Fort Wilderness May 2 - 11. :goodvibes

Just found this thread. My DH and I are going May 12th-17th. Staying at POR Riverside. I have made my ADRs as well.

May 13th: Le Cellier 12:00 and La Hacienda de San Angel 8:30

May 16th: Lunch with Imagineer 11:30 (Brown Derby) and Les Chef de France 6:30

We are going for a D23 event (if we can get tickets). So that is why I have so many ADRs in 2 days. The other 2 days are the event.

We'll be there the same dates! I kind of hope Star Tours II DOESN'T open that week. If it does the Studios will be MOBBED the entire time.

Where do you get the first visit and bday buttons? My older ds bday is the day before we our trip, so we are definitely celebrating it in Disney. I don't want my 5 year old ds to be left out though, so I want to get him a first visit button. Can I get them at check-in at the hotel?

You can get the buttons when you check into your resort. If, for some reason, you forget, you can also get them in the theme parks at Guest Services.
