11 day happy dance!!

As for the terror alerts, I think like at any time, we need to be vigilent and aware of our surroundings. But other than that, what more can you really do?

I hate to say it but if someone wanted to do something bad, they will. And there is very little that anyone can do to stop it. After all, a pen or pencil can be a weapon...and those bag searches at WDW are all for show and have no merit. IMHO all they do is delay my entrance into Disney. I don't know why Disney even has them, except to say "see we check bags ... we have security". Every time I go in, I hand over 2 bags (diaper bag, camera bag) but we have more -- snack bags, toy bags, purse, etc, and they never ask for them. If they would, I'd show them. Otherwise, I'm just trying to get in the park like everyone else.

I plan to enjoy my time at WDW ... I hope and pray that we are safe from traffic accidents, unruly guests, sickness and those who intend to do harm.

LOL, kind of. One of the Rum's that they pour in it is golden in color. Yes, it is worth it, especially if after you drain the drink you grab a spork and scrape the pineapple from the inside, it's delicious! If you have trouble justifying the cost, look at it this way: You will only need one, LOL! Trust me, you can drink one at 5:00pm and still be good at 11:00. Its the kind of drink that is a marathon, not a race, and it's STRONG! One and done.

I will remember that. Our supper is at 8:30 pm. Perhaps I should go earlier and look around the resort.

Less then a week. 6 Days and so much to do. I went from having 17 assignments last Monday to 3 assignments as of today.
6 Days until I am in my happy place.

Doing the disney dance...quietly...kids have no idea! me and the hubby have been 5 years ago when i was pregnant the first time. cannot say that i enjoyed it too much but i am looking forward to seeing the excitement on the kids faces. we leave May 5th!

Welcome to DIS! I'm just curious...what did you not enjoy about your trip 5 years ago? Hopefully, this trip will work around that so you all can enjoy.

I have 2 girls (5 and 2) and find the best thing is to (try) to take it slow, at their pace.

I'm one of the Disney freaks who try to go every year...even more than once since buying DVC and no two trips are ever alike since there is just so much to do both in and outside the parks.

Oh please guys, they already all but do complete cavity searches on all airline passengers at the airport, most flights all have plain clothes air marshalls on them we don't know about, and aside from the White House I think Disney World may be the safest place on earth from terrorism. Have you ever been in the park and noticed an unruly guest? They are there one moment, and gone the next. Disney security is only one step down from the Secret Service, LOL. They're like Batman. They swoop in when you don't notice and clean house.

That's because The Mouse has Chip and Dale in charge of security. Those two don't mess around.

We have 3 days left and this morning my DH and I went off and did some shopping for him that he desperately needed, and then I did my last minute running around. I have 1 more day of work and then I have to clean my house. Oh yeah, I have been doing laundry non stop too So excited I can't wait

nine days until one magical day at Magic Kingdom with Dreams Take Flight!

Watch for us May 11 as we visit the Magic Kingdom. Kids in yellow t's and blue hats. We are from Toronto and hope to have a great time with some very special kids.

8 days left!!!!! Started packing last night.....I like to either match or color coordinate with my DH and DS.....I'm just praying really hard that I actually get to enjoy this trip....our very first trip last year....I got severe jet lag....and I was a mess the entire time. Getting some prescripstions and I will be set...well lets hope!

We changed our dates, and pretty much everything else about our trip, to make it more affordable and keep me from having to take days unpaid from work. So now we are leaving in 27 days. I am SO excited to get to the warm sunny weather, to surprise my dd10 (her birthday is while we will be there), to go back to my happy place!

I'll never make it! 18 days I've read everything I can read on the boards - 20 times over! I'm 98% planned and 10% packed but still have 18 days ... arrrrrggggggg -- I want to do my last minute "stuff" but it isn't last minute yet "whew" thanks, I thought I was going to explode ... so jealous of you short-timers GO DISNEY!
