Official May 2011 thread!

Everyone thanks for the thoughs and prayers. I know they are felt and appreciated. Now for the happy part 26 days!! :cool1:

Just checking in. We made it through the storms. Devastation in all the surrounding areas. We were very fortunate to only have suffered the loss of power. Youngest niece had some trees down, siding ripped off and kids swing set tossed across the yard. Oldest niece's place is okay but they had gone to a neighbors to seek shelter during the last wave of storms and the house they were in was destroyed.....all that's left standing is the laundry room and bathroom - they all came out of it without a scratch. Many friends in the area have damage.

Prayers for our neighbors up North! I am in South Alabama and we were spared. I'm so sad to see the devastation and loss of life, more importantly, because material things can and will be replaced. My heart goes out to you all!

What area are you in? I live in Calhoun County, Alabama and many friends had damage and loss of loved ones in Webster's Chapel, Ohatchee and Ragland. :grouphug:

We are right at the Tennessee/Georgia line and our county also borders part of Alabama. Counties near us that were affected are Marion, Hamilton, Dade, Walker, Catoosa, Dekalb and probably several others I have failed to mention.

My thoughs and prayers are with everyone affected in the South! I've been through a couple of scary storms in my life (from Kansas after all), and I know how frightening it can be. :grouphug:

Getting so excited it is hard to sleep. We are leaving may 7th, driving from michigan, so we will arrive on may 8th. :dance3: i have been packed for weeks and get all giggly when is see commercials on tv. Husband doesn't understand. he is not going. doesn't get all the excited. going with son, 28, and his female friend, 27. Haven't been there since 2000, so this is just pure joy and excitement. Stay at POP and can't wait:woohoo:

We're driving from Chicago also leaving the 7th to arrive on the 8th and staying at Pop!! Hoping for good weather along the route!!

Thoughts and prayers for everyone in the South affected by these storms. Thankfully all of our friends came through with only minor damage. I know how terrifying tornadoes can be.

Two weeks from right now, I'll be in Epcot!

... our thoughts also go out to those in the south affected by the storms :grouphug:

We get some scary weather up here in Alberta, but nothing like they've had down south :sad2:

Same date, same place! Look for our lime green mickey head! :)

I just want to see my ticker with 7 days on it. Next week at this time we'll probably be finishing up at the pool or hanging out on the Boardwalk or heading over to Epcot to walk around WS and enjoy a few drinks before our 7:30 ADR's at La Hacienda.

Sadly we get into FLA at dinner time so by the time we get to resort we will have a little while to walk around Epcot and then go get rest for the next day.

If you're at the pool and you see some guy with his kids baby pictures tattooed on his arms and M&M's tattooed on his shoulders, that's me. Say hello if you get a chance.

We land in Orlando at 11:15 am so we'll have quite a bit of the day to swim or wander the Boardwalk or WS. I booked this flight back in October from Milwuakee to Orlando and paid $77 each way per person. Tickets on the same flight are now going for $363 each way.
