Official May 17th Alaska Cruise Thread!

Liz, So here is the plan, brunch at Palo 10:30, walk around the ship for an hour we will be able to see all around then a late lunch, it is a good thing both of us have late dinner lol.
My mom laughed at me I have one bag packed and ready, pirate hats, fish extenders, umbrella, small fan for sleeping, popcorn for the movie (i don't like what they have) hmmm no room left. Next week we will start on the rest.

Hahaha funny! I have a goal of packing in ONE large suitcase!
I think I can do it - our room ended up being very close to the laundry room and I think I will pack 4 days worth of clothes and do a quick load of laundry mid week.
All I have to pack is clothes, FE stuff, extra pair of shoes each and toiletries. We don't dress up for pirate night, and can pack pretty light.
We are taking the skytrain in so I can avoid parking $$ and morning traffic, so I don't want to be lugging 2 big suitcases with me.
Now that being said, I haven't started to pack so not sure I can accomplish my goal!

Good luck on that one bag. I knew from the start on this one I would be a lot of bags on this trip coming from Calif. Where it was 82 today. Not sure if I should bring a heavy coat or not. The photo on the blog they all looked real cold. I guess I will see.

Kris,
I am bringing my winter coat! 60 degrees is as warm as we can hope for, and when the ship is moving, wind blowing, or BOTH, it will feel much colder! We have agreed we will each have a suitcase, and then one suitcase with our winter coats, (since there is NO WAY I am wearing my winter coat from Phila. in May! We are flying through Phoenix, so I don't think I'll be too cold til we get to Vancouver!).

I HOPE I won't need the coat, gloves, hat and scarf, but I'll have them just in case :)

Liane

I am sure that I will break down and bring it, I had to search everywhere for it, I think it has been three years that I have worn it. I do the turtleneck with a sweater, gloves scarf thing but don't want to be unhappy on the other hand.

FYI

If anyone else wants to do the group shirts then please PM me with your names and an email address to send the images to.

Funny thing is we live here and don't even bother with winter coats!! LOL.
Even in the winter, it is not usually cold enough - maybe here and there. My daughter has a good down winter coat she got 2 years ago and has worn maybe 5-6 times.
I wear a polar fleece jacket or just shell type jacket!
I plan to bring those and some small gloves just in case.
We won't need them though- we are going to have GREAT warm spring weather!

Anyone have the list of movies they are playing handy? I don't feel like going through 30 pages of posts to find it again! Meg wants to know! She is totally playing catch up now!

Hi Everyone
I am so super new to this discussion post stuff so mind me.
Well we just booked our cruise and I will be travelling with

Son Dante 8 years old
Daughter Anabella 9 months old
My Mum

We are leaving the men at home and we are hoping for some fun adventures.

I look forward to connecting with some of you. Is it too late to join in any activities?

:cloud9:

I haven't told my son yet that he is going, we do this kind of thing every year at this time and for the past 2 years surprised him with Disneyland and this year thought we should switch it up and do the cruise.

How would I get DisneyDreams room number. I read where she didn't want it posted, but not sure what "see pm" means. Where would I find her pm? Thanks so much.
Melissa

Melissa,
I don't want to speak for Dreams, but I believe she will send a Private Message here on the Dis Board to each of us who is participating. If you look in the upper right corner where it says "Welcome, Howmel" you'll see a link to your Private Messages. It says there how many you haven't read yet. I'm keeping an eye on mine for her information.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Dreams! It wouldn't be the first time if I were!!

Liane

Liane,

Yes, she does not want to give her personal identifying information on public boards. Her actual name and room number will be sent via Private Message to all those participating in the FE. Which is why the PDF file says "See PM".

Thank you so much! That makes complete sense now, I will just wait for her message. Also...is there a pirate night? Thanks again for all your help!
Melissa

We don't know if there is a pirate night, but will know when the the cruise leaving today gets back. They did say the pirate menu is now taste of alaska, but there WILL be a pirate buffet in beach blanket instead of outside, which means to me there will be a pirate night, but I am guessing indoors??

We don't know about whether there will be a Pirate Night, but since we are counting on Pirates of the Carribbean IV showing, DH and I are planning to dress up for THAT! Packing the Pirate Gear! pirate:
