** Official ** March 2011!!!

OMG OMG OMG I am so very very very excited!! I called DVC to add Magical Express. While I was on the phone I decided to see if they had anything available at the BW for our first night instead of the WL, there was not. So I said well what about AKL. We are staying AKL CL from 3/7-3/12 and thought I would change there on the 6th just to make check in/out easier. Well guess what I was able to get another night CL!!! So now we don't have to move at all. I am so excited!! So we will now be at AKL CL from 3/6-3/12!!!

So I would like to throw it out there, then. I propose a meet at the Dole Whip stand in MK's Adventure Land at 1pm on Saturday, March 12th. Please respond to this post if you would like to attend! I always think its fun to meet people in real life after reading their posts on the Dis.

So it is me and my husband so far!

Jennifer

can add jessica (me) and Shawn (DH):woohoo:

Unfortunately, I'll be just returned home and crying and sulking that day. :sad1:

May even be booking my NEXT trip by then, lol! ;)

March 12th is not ideal let me know. I just picked the date essentially out of a hat. I would love to get to know some of the people on this thread better. Maybe we should get to know each other better before:

My name is Jennifer. I live in Washington, D.C. but I am originally from Toledo, OH. I am a lawyer by trade, but I work for a labor union where I work with our pension funds. I am married and my husband is a graphic designer.

I have been to Disney 7 times in 3 years for both personal trips and work trips. I am obsessed with Notre Dame football (Go Irish!), and my favorite things to do at Disney are eat and drink.

Who is next?

Hi Jennifer,,I am Jan...From Chicago...Semi-retired,,and have stayed at every Disney Resort except Animal Kingdom Lodge...I feel I am the luckiest person on earth to relive the Magic each time I go back...We have over 2 feet of snow here with 5 to 6 foot drifts,,,and I just made arrangements to go back to WDW In March!! And at the risk of sounding like I am at a Intervention...
"My favorite thing to do at Disney is Eat and Drink Also"!!!!

I'm Colleen, originally from Detroit, now living in a small town in Michigan's thumb. I was an IT support tech in my previous life, but now I'm a SAHM and the entire office staff for DH's small home improvement business. I also dabble in freelancing and crafting when the mood strikes, and I love decking my girls out in cutesy custom Disney outfits for our trips.

March will be my 6th trip to Disney and 5th as an adult. My goal is to eventually try nearly every resort (I don't mind skipping the values) and every Disney table service restaurant, and I'm about halfway there on the restaurants so far! So yeah, eating and drinking are some of my favorite Disney things too. ;)

We may be able to make it to the meet. We are leaving that day but our flight isn't until 9:45pm. Our only issue would be if we don't renew our APs they expire on the 11th.

Anyway I am Vicki I am a SAHM to 3. DH is an autoglass business owner/tech. It will be just the 2 of us this trip celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary. We LOVE Disney and we are blessed to be DVC owners. We go to WDW every Christmas. I know I know we are insane but I would take the Disney crowds over family drama anyday LOL. If I am not planning Disney trips I am taking the kids to softball/baseball and football/cheer practice. I am pretty boring LOL

I'm Ralph. Married father of one. I'm from Aiken, South Carolina so we'll be driving down. Haven't had as brutal a winter as many of you guys. I work as a Radiological Control Inspector in the nuclear industry. This will be the first Disney trip down for myself and my DS6. My wife has been before a couple of times when she was younger. I'm an avid vacation researcher and planner.:surfweb: I'm used to doing all the digging and planning for all my vacations. Disney is like the Holy Grail for me and I'm sure this trip in a few weeks will be the first of many more to come.:thumbsup2

I really enjoy the atmosphere and fun that goes along with a vacation and especially something like Disney.:3dglasses I'm a big kid at heart myself and this trip has me just brimming with excitement.

Hi, my name is Bridget and I am addicted to Disney! :lmao:

Sorry it just sounds like we are at a Disney-aholics Anonymous meeting with our intros!

I am a stay at home mom for the moment but my profession when I work is an elementary school teacher. I have boys - DS8 and DS4.

This will be a first trip for myself, DS8, and DS4 but DH went once when he was 3.:rotfl: He doesn't remember anything from it of course so we'll consider it his first trip as well.

We are really excited about our trip and are sure to have many more!! :wizard:

Vicki, ROFLMAO, your logic on Christmas holidays is the best I've ever heard!!! I'm disappointed in myself for not having thought of it myself, so I might have to adopt it. We are discussing a Thanksgiving 2012 trip to celebrate our 20th anniversary w/our 2 boys, hopefully see the FL expansion part I, & take in our first MVMCP since 2005. I'm dying to see the icicle lights on CC & enjoy Holidays Around the World with older children this go around. Back then, my oldest ruined my Santas around the World scrapbooking dreams by proclaiming "I am an American so I need to see the AMERICAN Santa.". He was 6 and down right refused to negotiate, but at least we got a great shot of him w/Mr. & Mrs. Claus. The youngest was even worse, I had to threaten him just to get one picture with Santa at MK. The art of the deal is lost young ones w/autism LOL. Thank goodness they are more flexible now!

I'm Julie aka Minnie Mommy Mouse. In my youngest son's world, there is no greater honor than being gifted a Disney classic character name, it means you are "in" the house w/Mickey Aidan Mouse. I plan to enjoy being his "sweetheart" as long as possible:). I've been married 18 years to Donald Daddy Duck aka Brett, and we are blessed with 2 red heads, Chip & Dale Joshua (11 1/2) and Mickey Aidan Mouse. I am also a SAHM so I can manage raising 2 boys on the autism spectrum who also have ADHD and LDs. They are handfuls, but incredibly bright and amazing, the lights of my life.

March will be our 8th trip & like Ralph I never got to go as a kid (neither did my DH) so we are making up for it! We all enjoy dining around the world & have hit many memorable places (slowly working on all;), staying at different resorts, and we are hard core park junkies. DH & Aidan are the ride guys, Josh and I like them but prefer a more well rounded experience with parades, shows, and CHARACTER HUNTING for those perfect scrapbook moments. I'm also passionate about the SHOPPING-we collect pins, and the boys collect ears. Unfortunately, I seem to be collecting DB purses LOL. I'm not even a purse gal, but I am mad about the DBs .

Dear Ralph,
You will be SO GLAD you researched this trip. We winged our first one (I was trying to control my planner instincts), and I've micromanaged ever since trying to make up for what I missed the first go around LOL. It is just too magical, you will not want to miss a thing! I never knew parades could be so cool (especially the ELECTRIC kind) and how much I loved FIREWORKS until WDW. I hope this is the first of many trips for your family. I know once we got bit by the mouse, nothing else compares. Every I know in real life thinks we are completely nuts, but I know here people understand our passion and love for all things Disney:). I hope you'll report back about how your trip goes!!!!

Blessings,

To all you Epcot experts-
Where is a good spot for Illuminations? We've only seen it once in 2005, so I'm stoked about seeing it again!
TIA!

Man, there are just so many good spots. The only bad ones are really where there is a tree that is blocking your view! Personal preference? I like to sit with a cocktail in hand next to the rose and crown pub in the UK. There are chairs and tables there and it makes it more comfortable to wait for the show when you have a) a seat and b) booze.

Hi Julie! I'm glad to see my DH & I aren't the only crazy couple considering spending our anniversary at WDW with our kids! :rolleyes1 We go down every year in Feb or April during school vacation but we've been tossing around the idea of adding a trip this November to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We'd be going in early November and we'd be able to catch the end of the F&W Festival as well as the beginning of the holiday decorations, including the Osbourne Lights and a MVMCP. We might even stay onsite in a deluxe villa to make it extra special... The Beach Club is my dream resort. :cloud9:

We've always talked about getting away, just the two of us, but we've ruled that out due to the babysitting issue & that's where this idea was born... We'll see what happens - I suspect it will have a lot to do with how our upcoming Feb/March trip goes. My DH keeps telling me to go ahead and book it, but I know he's saying that for me, not for him. I need to make sure he finds some pixie dust during this trip.

Hi my name is Jessica. I am married to Shawn and we have little DS1 Walter.
I am an EMT-Paramedic, and love my Job!! My husband did work at our local disney store about 2 years ago (PT, the discounts rocked), until it closed. Now we have no local disney fix. we have to go to New Orleans or Gulf Port to get to a disney store. Stupid GGP Mall. :headache:Anyway...
This will be our 13th trip in 10 years. Our first trip we went on 900 bucks. Ate from an ice chest and only ate once in the park a day QS and usually shared. We have come a long way from those days. Now I plan our days around my DS. He will be 18 months on this trip.
My Family( my Mom, Dad,my sister her DH and DS, my DH and DS and myself) will be staying in an all star home. It will be first time for us to be off property in 10 yrs. Good thing DH and I have annual passes.
I love looking for the LGMHs in the park. Hope to see yall in the park and at the meet. The 12th is our last day at the parks. :wizard:

Can't wait!! We are driving from the Toronto area. We will be there from March 25 to Arpil 1. We are staying off-site. It will be me, DH and DD6. We are really looking forward to it!!!!

As a pre-trip psyche-up my husband and I went to see the national Symphony Orchestra playing Disney music from the movies last night at the Kennedy Center.

It was so great. They had a large movie screen in front of the orchesra that played movie clips from the music they played. Some of it was sing-along, too! It was so much fun. I am such a corn ball that as soon as the music started with, "when you wish upon a star..." I started to cry a little. Lord help me. I truely am addicted. For real.
