We finally got our resort booked - no deal unfortunately, but oh well. We got our new planning DVD in the mail Friday and the kids and I are watching it again right now. After seeing it on the DVD, they both now want to do the Pirate League at MK - anyone done it? Worth $30/each?? I told them I didn't know about it, we'd have to see but I'd love to hear some feedback before dropping $60 on it.

Is it a new DVD finally? How is it? I've been waiting to order mine until I saw something here on the DIS that the 2011 edition was out.

Pirates League is TOTALLY worth it. We've never done BBB so I can't compare the two, but I can tell you that we LOVED Pirates League!!

Not the best after pic, but you can see the difference in both DD's. They LOVED it and so did we. The makeover is only part of the experience.

Yes, the planning DVD is the 2011 one! The very beginning has some of the home videos that have been on the Disney commercials, with people surprising their kids with Disney trips - oh my gosh, I can NOT watch any of those without instantly tearing up!

Thank you so much for posting Pirate League pics! My son is sitting here looking with me and when he saw them he got up and started bouncing like he's on a spring and saying, "Please mom, please, that's so cool, please..." So sounds like we'll definitely be doing it. I know it involves things other than the makeover - how much time did you allot for it? Is this something that I make advance reservations for? Sorry, tried to look it up in my Unofficial guide, but can't find anything about it, maybe I'm not looking under the right thing in the index.

We're snowed in here too, DS is enjoying a snow day - sounds to me like a perfect day to watch the planning DVD again. And yes, totally makes me dream of Disney while I watch the snow pile up!

wow,love their makeup - how long did it take to put on and then take off, must of been hard with the black....

It really wasn't too bad. It is basically stage makeup and it held up well in the parks, but both kids decided to take it off while we were waiting for our table at Kona. I came prepared - when I was in drama club in high school and college we used baby wipes for quick makeup removal, since we didn't have access to sinks backstage. The oils they use to keep baby's bottom smooth make them a great makeup remover! And since we had DD2 with us, I had an ample supply anyway.

It took 10-15min to get it all off. DS12 was able to do it all himself; I had to help DD9.

We were at PL a little over an hour for both kids. They weren't taken back at the same time as the place was quite busy , and we did have a bit of a wait at check in (we went when they were running the half off special last year, which I think was market research for the current pricing structure - I never would have paid the $50 per kid they wanted for the package when they first opened).

We're snowed in here too and I've never been so glad for it - my older kids were spending the weekend with their Nana and didn't make it home last night because the roads were so bad, so the snow day saves them a day of makeup work!

We had to shorten our trip by two days but at least we will still be there march 11-16
I am nervous about being there for only 5 days, with this being our first trip i dont want to miss out on too much!

We are going March 4th-14th at an allstar home.

My mom is making this trip a family trip with my dad, sister her husband and son. And ofcoarse me, my DH and DS 1...

We will be doing the U word park also. We have APs as we just got back from a november trip. And will be raking a trip in October with some friends for holloween.
We have never been in march, it will our mardi gras season so sure lots of LSU and Saints fans will be in the park. We tend to leave as soon as strangers start showing up. Any special events in march?

Thanks to all who have been well wishing us for everything that has happened so far.... I can tell you that we will not be giving up easily!! We are bound and determined to make this trip happen!
