*OFFICIAL MARCH 2010 THREAD* - Lets countdown together!

I think she meant she looked at the menus and based on what you get per meal with the dining plan she knows what the tip will be. Of course I could be wrong but thats what it sounds like.

As far as mousekeeping a guide for tipping for that is $2 per person staying in the room, I am not sure where the $1 came in at though. We had a party of 5 so we would tip $10 a day for mousekeeping.

Oh... that makes alot more sense! Silly me  So we will be 9 people in our villa, so a tip of $18.00 for our single day of trash and towel service seems good? $18.00 is considered good luck in Jewish culture (mine) and we often give gifts in $18.00 increments like say for a birthday or Bar Mitzvah or wedding. And we charge $18.00 per adult for dinners at the synagogue for instance. Anyway, the mousekeepers are mostly hispanic, so they'd not "get" it. Do we tip for the day of mousekeeping when they prepare our room for the next guest after checkout?:confused3

Ah the Poly...I've never stayed, but it is high on my list of resorts I would love to stay at. We are DVCers though so unless they build villas there (I would definitely add on if they did!) we probably will just have to admire from afar. Hope you have a great time.

I know what you mean about DC and Disney-shame. I swear, it's like a dirty little secret that I must keep to myself around here. Actually it's a bit better since we moved across the American Legion to NoVA (still haven't changed my location under my DIS name), but I still get the "How can you keep going back there? Wouldn't you like to actually experience something real? Maybe actually go to Morocco rather than visiting 'Faux-rocco' at Epcot?"

Plus my brother likes to bring up that '70's movie 'West World'...you know the one with Yul Brenner were the 'audioanimatronic' robots go crazy and start killing off all the park guests.

But I let my Disney-freak flag fly and try to remember that those who are not fortunate enough to understand or appreciate my love of Disney clearly have issues that need to be worked out in therapy (whereas I work out my issues at Disney World). Six more days 'til we leave for our next session!!!!!!:thumbsup2

It is much more Disneyfied out here in Ashburn. I have alot of friends out here who are DVC members. When I went to the chiropractor yesterday there was a woman with the license plate DISNY 71. Turns out she is a fellow Saratoga member, but she didn't know about the DIS boards. I clued her in right away! I drive around in my mini-van with my Stitch magnetic sticker and my Disney Files bumper sticker, sharing the magic as I drive :wizard:
I have an open invitation to visit the REAL Morocco anytime as I have a facebook friend who lives there and has invited me, but until I can afford the airfare and hotel or until I can suddenly drive across the Atlantic, I'll have to settle for the Fakerocco

28 more days til Disney sunshine!! :cloud9:

ps: today is my DS's 18th birthday. I gotta go figure out how to change his age on my signature line.

Here's kind of a random question I just thought of....should I be packing a lunch for the plane? We take off at 10:20am and land at 1pm in Orlando - do the airlines still serve meals? I haven't flown in 6 years, so I have no idea what to expect...

Don't forget that we have a FREE fridge/freezer available March 18-31 at any of the All Star Resorts. Join our swap today by clicking on the link below.

Congratulations March folks...your trips are just around the corner!!

They don't provide meals, just snacks. I always pack some jerky, granola bars, trail mix, etc. just in case there are any delays in our flight.

We are officially on our way GPS says 21 hours and 26 mins. Be back in 2 weeks have a great trip if you're leaving while we are gone.

We leave for the airport in less than 12 hours.. All I have left to pack is my hair products and make up that I am using in the am... SO READY to get outta here and on my way to DISNEY!:flower3:

Well I went to the doctor yesterday. They don't think it's anything serious, but I've got medicine to take for the next 10 days. It made me feel horrible yesterday, but it's not as bad today - hopefully it'll stop making me feel bad when I take it soon, since I'll have to take it the first three days of our trip (including the Princess 5K). They also drew blood work just to rule out some more serious things (hormone imbalances, thyroid, etc) and said I'll hear back in about a week - exactly when we're to leave for Disney. I'm hoping they'll call a day or two before we leave so I won't have to worry there!

It's hard to believe that this time next week I'll already have been there for a over a day! Crazy! I can't wait!!

I don't think they serving meals on flights that length - it's still relatively short. If I were you, I would eat a big breakfast, have some snacks for the plane ride, then eat lunch at your resort after checking in.

Me too!!! :cool1: I just have to pack my phone charger and my son's meds that need to be refrigerated!

I am excited, but I keep having that nagging feeling that I forgot something! Ugh! But I couldn't possibly have... I've been packed for a month already! LOL

Just picked up some trial size shampoo, conditioner and gel in case something happens and the luggage gets delayed - I didn't know you could buy the FANCY shampoos and such in trial size.:love::love:

Had my surgery yesterday and all went well. Feel like I was run over by a Mac truck right now but that was to be expected. Just happy to know that I will be at the happiest place on earth in only.....

23 DAYS!!!

I hope you feel better soon!

One week from tonight I'll be looking out at the MK from my view at BLT!!

YIPEEEEE!!!

Yeah!!! Let me know how you like BLT. It is one of the resorts I would like to try out.

Most US domestic airlines do not serve food. I pack some stuff from home (non-liquid) like pretzels, fruit, dried fruit/nutes, and even those frozen PBJs by smuckers. Or buy something at the airport and take it on the flight. Best to have something to eat on the flight and even in your bag for the drive from the airport to Disney.

I go online and get any samples I can all year round. Go to individual websites (like Pantene or Fructis) and walmart has a samples website where you can get new samples all the time. And of course, take advantage of the beauty counters, sephora, and other beauty stores at the mall. I always ask for samples even if I'm not buying anything and they usually give me something (Aveda was giving a sample pack of shampoo, conditioner, and treatment just last week). Love the little samples and packets because you can toss it when you are done!

Okay...all plans are finalized. We have our gorgeous matching t-shirts courtesy of the Creative DISigns board. We have ADR's and the beautiful color-coded spreadsheet with all parade times. I have viewed/printed maps from our resort to the parks and Downtown Disney. I have recorded addresses for the GPS. I have all but packed the luggage!

We're throwing a small birthday party for DS3 before we leave (his birthday is while we are there) and I have everything ready for that now. We made out the invitations and made up goody bags today.

So now what? What in the world am I going to do for the next two weeks? This site has me over-organized and now I'm staring at the calendar and clock! :rotfl:

One week from now we will be in the air on our way to Disney!

I am doing some final (hopefully final) shopping today! I should be 90% packed by tonight!

:cool1:

So excited called in room dining yesterday for AKL and I have a zebra cake and a bottle of sparkling wine with 2 toasting flutes being delivered to the room on our anniversary. I was waiting to call until we got a little closer and when I could get rid of DH for the day to do it as a surprise. Oh how I love Disney and how they make it so easy to make a special day even more special.

One thing more off of my check list.

Is anyone else having problems with online check in? I was able to do my room and then logged in on my moms account and keep getting an error. I have been trying since friday. I even tried on another computer and cant get hers to pull up.

My fellow Americans let me make this perfectly clear, I have 2 days to go!:lmao:
