*OFFICIAL MARCH 2010 THREAD* - Lets countdown together!

I have alot of posts to respond to so bear with me

Going to Disney with a sensory kid: Even though my son has a diagnosis from a Neurologist, we aren't going to get special passes for him. I know I technically could, but its very hard to distinguish him from normal kids other than the weird noises and constant stomping, as well as his inability to stand still... ever. He simply "cant" wait in lines, so we will just take turns holding him slash restraining slash entertaining him. We'll figure it out. I've heard horror stories of people saying mean things to people who get to cut lines and I don't think my DD6 year old could handle hearing things like that aimed toward her family. He doesn't have any anxiety or anything, so we are extremely lucky in that area. He just has very inappropriate stims and looks like a typical baddly behaved kid. But Disney is pure stimulation, which seems to really center him... So it will be alll good.

unfortunately, I found out today I probably have a herniated disc in my neck. I am going for X rays tomorrow and an MRI after that sometime before Disney. It's most likely caused by exactly what I mentioned before, constantly restraining and lifting a 40 pound child. Hopefully DH will be able to take the reins for Disney, and my neck can get a rest.

We are going on our first trip March 25th-31st. My husband, our daughter (3years old), our son (2 years old) and myself! My inlaws are going down also for the first part of the week! We are all thrilled and can not wait for March 25th to get here!!!

Please pardon the hi-jack. If there is anyone staying at the All Star Sports, Music or Movies between March 12 and March 31 you are invited to join our FREE fridge swap.

Ok, back to your regular programming.

I just requested Friday off of work so we can leave a bit earlier and maybe do a stop for the night because this is a road trip! NJ to FL.....
I can't wait to get there - counting down the days constantly.....

I want it to hurry up and then when I get there slooowwwww down. :rotfl:

It's online check in day for me! Debating if I want to do it or not, most likely I will. A day cannot go by where I dont do something for this trip.

2 more days!!! I did online check-in last night and got our binder together with all documents and spreadsheets. Now if the weather would just cooperate then we will be good!

I went shopping yesterday and got a lot of the odds and ends picked up. Now I need to figure out how I want to pack everything in the suitcases and what to pack in our carryons.

I have decided to do online checkin which I can do tomorrow! It adds to the excitement of getting closer!

I have a sensory son too...my undrstanding is that the GAC DOES NOT move you to the front of the line. We are going to get it so that my son can stay in his stroller in lines as if he is in a wheelchair. I think he ultimately will do fine like this. The waiting, confined in someoens arms is what would pitch him into a fit. And he doesn't like strangers in his personal space so this will give him a little bit of a buffer. if you get one, you can also chose whether or not to use it at each ride. For example, if it has a short line, he's in a good mood, and wants to hang on daddy for a while, we won't. I like having the peace of mind that I am doing whatever offered to make the trip as comfortable for my child (and ultimately everyone in the vicinity) as possible.

I was just checking the weather actually!! Looks like High in the 60's, low's in the 40's...a couple of spots of rain but overall sunny!:goodvibes

Called Disney today to get our flight confirmation # and then got on the AirTran website and got our seat assignments. I just has this panicky feeling about the 6 of us (my mother is traveling with us) being scattered all over the airplane! My kids have never flown and my DD is already pretty nervous to begin with.

I was happy I had called because they didn't have our TSA info. or my mother's either and we had both previously called in and gave it. :confused3 I also entered it in the AirTran website to make me feel better in case Disney lost it again or whatever. ;)

So everything should be ready to go now except the packing and t-shirt making! 26 days should be plenty of time for this obsessive girl! :)
