*OFFICIAL MARCH 2010 THREAD* - Lets countdown together!

How do you get a personalized photopass card?

I got an email a few weeks back with a discount code to prepurchase the photopass CD for $99. And a free personalized card was included. But you can also order the card for $4.95. I'll have to take a picture of ours. I am pretty tickled about it. LOL! It is the little things that amuse me. LOL!

I got a photopass card that asked me to pre-register it on the site with our name on it inside with our package info, is this one you got different from that? And you were able to buy for $99 as opposed to what? What is the full price? Can you use a Disney Gift Card to make the purchase? Is it only to certain people that the deal was offered? Thanks!

I think if you book through Disneytravel?? Maybe that is how it is offered. I am really not sure. The CD is normally $150 I think. An email was sent out about "things not to miss" or something along those lines. Maybe I could forward you the email?? Not sure if that would work.

We have prepurchased the cd the last 2 years and it used to just be anyone could order. They have changed it this year I think.

Here is our card. Isn't that the coolest idea? I love it. Of course I am missing a kid in it, since we have a new addition.

Is there a pin code or something in the e-mail? If so, probably only applies to you. Since you've bought it before, is it worth it? I guess so being you are buying it again. I'd love to see if I can get the advance discount, $50 is $50 after all.

Adorable personalized card, by the way!

That's adorable. We loved using photopass last year and bought the DVD - I think it was buy one get one free or something after our trip last year. It was fun to edit everything and it really worked out! I had no idea they had personalized passes, but that's a great idea!

I don't think there was a pin. But I just had to sign into my account. It was kind of hidden in an email that offered it. Did you book through Disneytravel?? Maybe you can call and ask.

The email was titled "disney vacation must see for the **** family"

Nope, booked through AAA. Was just passing through e-mails of mine and don't see it, but I did get a photopass card with our name and on site reservation info on it to pre-register before we arrive along with our paperwork. Weird.

Oh, was there a specific phone # to contact or just the standard Photopass phone #?

We booked through Disney Travel and yesterday I got a PhotoPass card and the info. said that I could pre-register it online. But I don't ever recall getting an email about a discount on a cd either. :confused3 I wonder if it is one of those random emails that only the lucky ones get? :goodvibes

Just because we are 3 weeks from disney magic, today i went to dollarama and bought ponchos, glow sticks, travel toothbrush ends, and some extra bits. Then I went to Walmart and bought myself some minnie mouse p.j's and my daughter some Donald duck p.js.....they are so cute!!! with the t-shirts and capri length pants!!! I got some tea, coffee filters, 2 pairs goggles for the kids and did up our mousekeeping envelopes complete with the tips!!

wow, at this rate I will be ready by next week.....then what will i do?

ahhhhh..... the lead up to the trip is as much fun as the trip!...o.k almost.

Awesome! :thumbsup2 How fun! I wish we had a decent dollar store in this town.

I have been planning, planning, planning. It's fun for me, too! Why worry when you can obsess! That's what I always say! ;) What am I going to do with myself after this trip? I guess I will have to move onto the next thing to obsess over. Not sure what...but I will find something!

We are flying AirTran too, out of Indy. The last time we used a TA and flew out of our home town airport...this time no TA and driving the 3 hours to the airport.

Haven - we'll be there at the same time! LOL!

Haven't read farther, but you can print your boarding passes out from home, or at check in. Indy has curbside check in for your bags, then you can park your car and shuttle back in with your carry on, strollers, etc. I typically drop everyone off at curbside check in and then park myself so they don't have to walk as far.

We fly out on the 19th - how about you?

Maybe...not sure. After a lot of extensive online searching, I came to the conclusion that I need to contact my travel agent to get a code. Here's what I read:

Please note that DVC members staying on points and their guests and those who book through a travel agent will not receive this email at this time. This is because the email is sent out through Disney Destinations and not directly from Disney's PhotoPass. However, guests who fall under this category are still eligible to pre-purchase the PhotoCD for $99.95 as long as Disney's PhotoPass can verify the reservation information.

DVC Members and those renting points: The DVC owner should be able to contact Member Services to obtain a discount code for use against a future purchase of the PhotoCD.

Travel Agent bookings should have their travel agent contact PhotoPass directly on their behalf to obtain a discount code for use against a future purchase of the PhotoCD.

Staying On Site - Guests who book a Walt Disney World vacation package should receive a special Disney's PhotoPass card included with their documents. Not to be confused with the $99.95 PhotoCD pre-purchase offer, registering this card online will allow Disney's PhotoPass to potentially mail additional offers before, during and after the Disney vacation. A typical offer may be $30-$40 off of the PhotoCD for example. Note that receiving offers is not guaranteed and this is not a substitute for the pre-purchase offer. Guests who are concerned that pre-registering the card may trigger the 30 day deletion clock on all added photos can simply acquire new cards on site to use, however Disney's PhotoPass has advised that the deletion clock only begins once the photos are actually viewed online, not when the card itself is added to the account.

:)
This was helpful to me as I reached out to my travel agent, so I figured I'd share in case it is also helpful to you and any others. :)

Great info.!! I haven't registered my card yet so maybe that would trigger an email. I guess we'll see!

I was told when I called in that not everyone receives the email. I didn't get one this year but I did last year. :sad2:

I really want the personalized cards. Hoping that registering my card from Mickey Mail will trigger one.

We made tie dye mickey shirts tonight. I'll post pictures in a couple of days.
Can't wait to see the pics! I've been getting everything set up for my shirts, just waiting on one more box to come in the mail. And I probably need a few more things from Michaels.

Here is our card. Isn't that the coolest idea? I love it. Of course I am missing a kid in it, since we have a new addition.
That is adorable!

but we leave in two weeks:yay:

We're driving down as we have the past two trips, which I thought I would hate since I'm the only driver. Turned out pretty well though. This time we will start something my son and I are calling the "Pedro Project" to add a little interest to the car trip. We're documenting every South of the Border sign we pass along the way coming and going as we've both developed what some might call an unhealthy obsession with Pedro:worship: (Pedro's Weather Report: Chili Today, Hot Tamale....priceless, just priceless).

Anyway, we arrive March 7th and depart March 13th. I've already started packing (though I'm starting to rethink the ratio of shorts to pants given the weather lately). Just ten and a half more work days to go!!!

So, we're down to 12 days... unfortunately, my father in law is very ill, and not expected to make it... :sad1: Not sure how that's going to affect our trip.
