*OFFICIAL MARCH 2010 THREAD* - Lets countdown together!

We usually go in the summer. Oh, the heat & humidity!!! I'm really looking forward to some cooler weather!

24 days & counting!

Got the rest of our Mickey Mail today too. But wondering...how do we get our airline tickets? do they send those or what? hmm..guess I need to find out. :rolleyes1

Most plane tickets are e-tickets these days. I usually scan my passport or credit card at the airport to retrieve my reservation, then we are good to go. Hope that helps a bit!

Closer and closer:cool1: We are still in the 20 degrees here and buried in snow. 60's-70's would feel great! We need to thaw out.

I just got some Keen Sandals, Balboa style from Zappos.com yesterday. I really like them and they should be good for the parks. Now I need to dig out the girls sandals to see if they still fit.

Packing continues....

14 more days!!

Is anyone doing online checkin at 10 day marker? I have been reading all kind of mixed reviews on it.
Yep, we're definitely doing it.

Cons I have read which may have no real truth behing them but I have no experience with it:
1. it may wipe out your room request on your reservation
2. It is harder to change the room location if it is not want you wanted
3. When you check in the online checkin line is longer than non-online checkin

But then I read..
1. It doesn't matter b/c rooms are pre-assigned days in advance
2. Various experiences- good and bad, by the same people
It seems like the online check in had a place for you to type in requests, but it's been almost a year and we don't usually make requests so I'm not positive on that. Also, the online check in line isn't always longer than the regular one. I'd actually bet that it's nearly always shorter with some exceptions. Even if they've both got people in them, 3 people in the online line are going to move much faster than 3 people in the standard line. We did online check in at CSR last May, arrived around 7:30 pm, and it didn't really make much of a difference - there was only a family or two in the regular check in line. But last December we visited POR and couldn't do online check in since we had booked through Coke rewards, got there about 3 pm and anyone who went to online check in was in and out quickly - they had a ton of people do it and it never built up a line, but we waited about 45 minutes in the regular line. I think generally it's going to make things better for you or just about the same. Another positive you didn't list is that it can help you get a room if you're arriving at an earlier time. When you do the online check in, you tell them your estimated arrival and departure times. So if they know you're arriving at 10 am, for instance, you'll be more likely to be assigned a room where someone has said they're checking out early / leaving on ME early and you could get into your room earlier.

We are stayiing at CSR and I really would like to be close to the dig site pool. I added a basic "Cabana's" section, but I have no idea what we will really like until we get there.
With the way CSR is laid out, there isn't one section that's necessarily closer - there are buildings in each section that are really close. http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/CoronadoMap.pdf We were in Casitas 2, which is pretty much directly across the lake from the pool and the longest walk to the pool (though it was further to get from the ground to our fourth story room because of the horrible way that was set up, no lie, but that's another story :lmao:). It was definitely a doable walk to the pool though, but we usually drove our truck to be closer (we parked at Ranchos 8 - that was the closest). And up until about 1 - 2 am you can use the buses to get around the resort too if you don't have a vehicle. I think overall the Ranchos were the closest because even their furthest buildings aren't as far as those in Cabanas and definitely not as far as Casitas 1 - 3. It's such a beautiful resort though - you'll love it!

Sooo what is everyone planning on packing? Shorts or pants? I just started tonight and I'm thinking I have no clue! lol
I'm going to pack all summer clothes, but bring a sweater and a pair of jeans or two just in case!

10 days!!!!

I am no longer worried about the weather in Florida - my latest, unfounded fear is that another giant snowstorm on the East Coast will delay our trip and screw everything up. I get nauseated just thinking about it!! I wish we could just leave today, the waiting is killing me!! :D

15 day forcast is great on Accuweather....

March will be short weather for sure.

Thanks for posting this link!
I had no idea it was so cool in Florida right now. But even a 60 degree day at the parks is better than the chilly weather we've had in Colorado (it usually is milder for us!) Ah, who am I kidding? ANY day at Disney is better!!

So I'll be there for a conference so I'm taking some conference clothes but that gives me some long skirts and pants in case it gets too chilly. I am bringing a couple lightweight jackets as well so I can stay warm at night. I don't ever bring jeans to Disney, I prefer the lightweight skirts and to wear a flower in my hair. It makes me feel like I'm really on vacation :)

I've got that same snowstorm fear (unfortunately, with the weather we've been having lately, I don't think it's too unfounded)! Hoping for good weather in getting to Disney and warm weather in Disney for all of us!

I hope these snow storms are done for the season! I think once we get all of this winter storm system out of the way, the nicer spring weather will start showing up. :yoda:

Those who are arriving on Feb 27th, what time does your plane land at MCO? Ours lands at 12:27pm. (Delta #1307)

Has anyone ever been to HS on ESPN weekend before? We plan on spending the whole day there on Sunday. If I get too bored with all of the sports stuff I will leave the guys and go off on my own. Hopefully the wait times for the attractions won't be too bad.
