I think we are doing almost all the character meals...

We have Chef Mickeys Breakfast, Cinderella's Happily ever after dinner, Donald's Safari Breakfast, and Mary Poppins, Alice, and the Mad Hatter for Breakfast. Then we are also eating at Sci Fi Dine-in, Ohanas, and Coral Reef. I'm getting pretty excited. :goodvibes We are also camping so we will be catching the Campfire and a Movie any nights we can. The kids will love that.

We did get the maps, they are a nice keepsake. I have a passporter I am going to take with us.

Cons I have read which may have no real truth behing them but I have no experience with it:
1. it may wipe out your room request on your reservation
2. It is harder to change the room location if it is not want you wanted
3. When you check in the online checkin line is longer than non-online checkin

But then I read..
1. It doesn't matter b/c rooms are pre-assigned days in advance
2. Various experiences- good and bad, by the same people

So at the end of the day I think it is like anything else in life- unpredictable.

I just need to decide soon if I want to do it or not. I would like to check it off my "to do list" LOL!

We are stayiing at CSR and I really would like to be close to the dig site pool. I added a basic "Cabana's" section, but I have no idea what we will really like until we get there.

Are you going to fax in your room request?

I did fax it in yesterday..I requested Cabanas also..I figure if we get there and don't have Cabanas, and don't have Casitas, I will ask for a change. But if i'm anywhere in Cabanas or Casitas I think we'll be fine. We'd like the dig site location as well. Well, here's good luck wishes for both of us!!:wizard:

We aren't doing any shows this time, was going to do Spirit of Aloha but my DH was afraid that it would be too cold at night, so we are going to wait until we are there at a much warmer time. Our schedule looks like:

Tuesday 3/23 we arrive :woohoo: and don't have any immediate plans as of yet, still trying to work this one out.

Wednesday 3/24 we will be having breakfast with Minnie, Donald, and Goofy at Cape May Cafe before heading over to Epcot for the day. For a late lunch we will be taking my DFIL and DMIL to Le Cellier to celebrate my DFIL's retirement. He never had a party for himself so DH and I thought we would treat them there.

Thursday 3/25 is our MK day and as of right now we don't have any set plans, this is more of a go with a flow kind of day.

Friday 3/26 is back to Epcot to have breakfast with Belle and whatever Princess that would like to be at Akershus before the park opens, (we love going at this time of day)

Saturday 3/27 is off to DHS where we will have dinner plans with our "cousins" at 50's Prime Time Cafe. This is my DIL's favorite restaurant on property, we haven't been since 2005 so we are excited to go back. That night (since DHS will close at 7pm) we are going to be heading over to POR to go to the River Roost Lounge to see Yee Haw Bob perform, we are staying at POFQ so it will be a nice walk back to our room when the night is over.

Sunday 3/28 the DILs leave for home while DH, I, and kiddos get to go to MK until 2am :cool1:

Monday 3/29 is our departure day :sad1: and we will either be heading over to DHS or AK, still haven't quite figured that one out. Our plane doesn't leave until 7:20pm so we will have most of the day to play before heading back to Chicago.

Have a Magical Trip :dance3:

Getting closer and closer to our first full blown family vacation.:lovestruc

Packing: I have a few things set aside, like the pins I got for the kids, and all the summer clothes are washed and ready to pack, at least, for my kids...But I am a big ol B personality so this planning thing has been a challenge for me. I count on Disboards for daily inspiration!

Mother/Mother in law: We do not have elderly parents yet, they are in their 60s, but this is the very first vacation we have been on with out my in laws. Its just the four of us. I adore my MIL but being on her schedule makes me absolutely mental. That's why this is even more of a dream come true for us. No inlaws! ( though I do get to visit my favorite Aunt in Orlando and give her my kids for the night!)

ADR:I too am slightly obsessing about my dinner res. Namely the following... Dinner at Epcot... Moracco, which is my childhood favorite, or, Garden Grill which I think my kids would like better? I am also contemplating canceling Chef Mickey because I haven't heard many great things about it, and adding Tuskerhouse the morning he wit Animal kingdom instead. THOUGHTS?

We went to Moracco 2 years ago with the kids and enjoyed it. I liked that is was something totally different then we would eat at home. The belly dancer and music kept it lively.
We went to Chef Mickey's last year for breakfast and we didn't have any problems.

Have a good trip MIL free!

Starting to get really nervous. I'm leaving for NYC on the 25th and I'm there until we leave for WDW. We still havent received our Mickey Mail. I'm also nervous about our ADRs. We've been trying to double check we have all the information correct in our massive planner that we made after reading how much easier it is here on the DISboards. Will take pictures to show all you fabulous people! Anyway, when we login to wdw.com, it doesnt find the confirmation numbers that we have. We need to cancel two of them because our itinerary changed, but cannot find the email with the confirmation number in it. Any advice?

Also, how many tags do you get for ME? I've read one and other times I've been reading that they send two for each person in the party. I'd post this in other forums, but I feel I get the fastest response in this one. :)

We're staying at the POP and has anyone confirmed that Southwest is a participating airline for ME for value resorts? Packing should start soon, but we're really unsure of what to pack. We've got our limegreen Mickey heads ready to go though. :lmao:

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. We have a VERY flexible schedule, the only real schedule we have is our ADR's. We really want to see F&G We are all looking forwart to getting away from the cold.
Thanks again, for the kind thoughts.

Me and my bro will be at DHS on the 27th, too! We're having lunch at Brown Derby  Not sure if there's going to be a Fantasmic that night. It's not on the schedule, that's for sure. If not, we'll probably leave there around 4 or 5 and just kind of hang out somewhere for the rest of the evening.

not much longer for me either!

I was just looking at the 10 day forecast and it finally looks like it will be in the mid-70's at least when we go. I have this fantasy in my head of using the pool at the Poly and I hope it comes true!

I know! At least it is getting out of the 50's! LOL!! I just want my boys to be able to use that cool pirate pool at CBR! LOL!

Honestly, we like Chef Mickey's and eat there every trip. But, it is up to you whether you want to stay there or switch to Tusker House. Everyone is going to have their own likes/dislikes. I do take other people's opinions into account when making my ADR's, but I always like to try places for myself before deciding whether it's a good place or not.

weather is indeed warming up for the 10day, back to 70,72 etc.. i'll take it! LOL We were there first week in march last year, and it was about 80 deg. and they had just come off a cold snap before we got there.. so i am holding out hope!!!

15 Days till 1 Bedroom at BLT!!!

Anyone know if DVC can do a Room Request?

Yes, you can do a room request with DVC. We do it all the time. I have not however, requested a specific room number. We always request the Grandstand area of SSR. Its the quiet pool over there that's got me hooked. It has a kids water play area with squirting horse heads and a spraying starting gate, that has my little one delighted and yet it also has a nice pool bar with delicious lunch, drink and snack options. Last time, we had a room right BY the pool, which was nice. I am considering requesting at least that building. But, then again, when we were in the furthest building over, it was just a hop to the bus stop... so I'm not sure if I'll push my luck any further than just asking for Grandstand.

As for changing ADR's without your ressie number. Just call dining. They have it all. I couldn't find my ressies in the online system, but dining had them. No problem:)

I think we're actually doing way fewer table service restaurants than we have in the past. We have a party of anywhere from 9 to 15 depending on the day. We actually have ressies for T Rex for a part of 15!! There are some great dining choices that don't require ADR's like Beaches & Cream and ESPNzone. I also discovered that ADR's outside the parks such as Boardwalk or Resorts are not impossible to get last minute, even during F&G. We've done it. Instead of trying a walk-up or not trying at all, just call dining from your cell phone inside the parks... ask them... "what do you have for me?" We once decided that our ADR for a buffet was just too much for what we wanted and also was too far from where we ended up, so we called dining, and they found something for us at Spoodles. Too bad its gone. I'll miss that place!!
