*OFFICIAL MARCH 2010 THREAD* - Lets countdown together!

You think that crowds will be big during that time?

I'm hoping not as busy as the week after; I've been checking the posts and polls and it seems that there is definitely more activity the week of the 14th, so we've decided to go the first week of our march break as opposed to the second. Last year it was pretty busy, I assume from the 4/3 deal also but it was very comfortable and the lines were much more manageable than in the summer.

It's really exciting to see how many of us are going in March! After we melted in the heat last June, we've vowed not to return in the summer. The last time we went in March was 1990. We're hoping for good weather.

Just as an FYI there is a half marathon there the first week of march. So it definately won't be quiet

I got the impression it wouldn't be too bad due to the half marathon, but I guess we won't know til we get there! Fortunately we leave on the 5th and aren't planning on doing a park that day, so I figure just as everyone is getting in we'll be heading out!

I was able to get ALL the ADR's I wanted, which was very exciting!

2/28 - Dinner @ Chef Mickey's
3/1 - Breakfast @ CRT
3/2 - Tusker House Breakfast
3/3 - Dinner @ Whispering Canyon Cafe
3/4 - Dinner @ Ohana
3/5 - Breakfast @ Cape May Cafe

I haven't been since I was little, so I'm sure the crowds will not feel much different for me... :rotfl: Now if someone on here could compare them to crowds for Cedar Point in OH That would be the greatest. I went there a million times and know slow vs busy times. But they have lots of long lines like over hour waits for almost all of the roller coasters, so maybe that will be normal for me. :thumbsup2

We have our Cedarfair Canada's Wonderland up here and I agree, the line ups can be horrendous, especially in the summer. We always complain how the lines always feel much worse than in Disney! At Disney, you can use your fastpasses for the very popular rides and EMH if staying at a WDW resort to deal with most crowds. One hint is that you can get a fastpass for a ride for other members of the family; that is if you don't want to ride a certain thrill ride, you can still get a fastpass for it and give it to whoever in the family might want to go twice. Secondly, you can use fastpasses past their stated time frame. I don't think I have ever waited over an hour for a ride.

I think it was busy last year, but better than in the summer and the weather is much more pleasant in March than July.

This will be our 3rd March trip

Poly March 1st to the 8th

I braved the phones too and got all of our adr's

'Ohana
Chef Mickeys
Donald Safari
Cape May
Biergarten
Le Cellier

I am thrilled.

As for crowds they are awsome the first week of March and even with the 1/2 marathon they were not bad at all. The buses got a bit busy but nothing awful. The weather is amazing and even with the cold front last year it was still in the upper 70's by noon. :cloud9:

Well that sounds great then. Thanks. :cool1::cool1: I got really use to Cedar Points lines, so I'm sure we will be fine when we go to WDW. I'm looking forward to using Fastpass. I'm not sure exactly how they work, besides telling you a time to come back to the ride. Can you get them for any ride or just the popular rides?

I will be in the wonderful world of Disney from the 6th - 26th March following a weeks cruise in the Caribbean. So excited, I can hardly wait!!

Hello all,
I am trying to plan which parks to go to on what days and was hoping others could post their current itinerary if known.

I am in debate on seeing fantasmic. I may try to go to DHS on arrival day, we get into airport at 11:30 am on Sunday March 7 and see the show and then plan a day later in the week to go back on a Non-fantasmic day/non EMH day to enjoy the rest of the park with lower crowds. We will be there until the following Sunday and have purchased tickets for all 8 days, plus our flight out on our last day is not until 8:30 pm!

I also am trying to figure out the rest of our schedule b/c I still need to book our ADR for Askerhaus Breakfast and I am not 100% which days we will be at Epcot since we do not plan to buy Hoppers.

I have been trying to review the crowd calendars and best/worst days from touringplans, and make a schedule that makes sense and that builds in rest time etc.., this is difficult since it is our first trip.

So please post your current plan and feel free to post your reasons for your plan!

Thanks!

We are going march 20-27 and staying at CBR. We have a park planned for each day except two, which are free play at the resort with a feature meal at a resort other than our own in the evening. First day we are flying in, we are going to leasurely go to MK at our own pace, OR, if we are too tired, and its late, just go to bed. I haven't gotten my flights yet. Prices go down as we get closer to march so I am waiting for a deal to strike.

What I did is book dinners and breakfasts that were important to us, ( Askerhaus, mickey and friends, etc) and then planned the park visit around it. If it was a meal at a resort, thats our free day to hang around the pool. I also have relatives in Orlando coming to see us and the kids, so I have to schedule them in somehow for the Friday before we leave. They will be staying with our kids while hubby and I go to dinner at Kouzzina. I think part of the fun is having lots of lea way for plan changes and rests, but I know not everyone plans with a B personality like I have. We are too laid back as a family to micro manage, though sometimes I wish I had it in me. :cool1: thats why I come here, to get motivated!

I plan around morning EMHs and the fireworks. We do not usually do the evening EMH, although this time we may do one or two. I love Spectro and DH loves Fantasmic so those are a must see as well as Wishes. DS will just go with whatever we decide.
Also I only plan 2 or 3 ADRs so that gives me more time to work with.

I booked Chef Mickeys on Mar 2nd for 7pm. Because the Red Sox spring training schedule is not out yet I do not know what time we will get to WDW. Also there are not any evening EMHs that night so we won't miss anything.

I booked Ohanas for Mar 4th at 6:15 pm. We will go out to the beach and watch Wishes and ELP after we eat. This will be another night with no evening EMHs scheduled.

I would really just decide what fireworks/parades you want to see and decide which EMHs you want to attend and work around that.

I must be insane...

With zero input from the wife, I booked a trip from 3/10 to 3/17 for her, me, and our 18 month old daughter. This is going to be a Christmas surprise for both of them, so not only did I book the trip, I have to keep quiet about it for another 50 or so days. It's gonna be tough.

We're staying at the CBR in a Pirate themed room. And we got our flights on Southwest for $95 a head each way.

I can't wait until Christmas morning when I get to tell the wife, and March when I get to see my daughter's face light up when we get to WDW.

That is awesome!! What a great DH/Dad you are!!!! That would earn mega brownie points in my book! :)

Thanks!

I need to figure out how to make this a wrappable gift, and also figure out how to plan this trip taking the little one's needs into consideration. The last two times we went to WDW we were a DINK (Dual income, no kids) couple, and played the whole trip by ear. Somehow I don't think that plan is going to work on this trip.

Russ, perhaps wrap up a stuffie of Mickey with a tag around his neck annoucing the trip?? MAybe get your DW a Disney gift card, and when she looks puzzled, then you could annouce the trip??

Best advice i can give about your child is -- stick with your child's routine. When i first went to disney with my dd, she was almost 3, we stuck with her routine - nap time, bed time, etc.. Yes, that meant we were in our hotel room by about 7pm, but you know what - she had *no* meltdowns the entire trip - she was wonderful.. and we have gone every year since - she is now almost 9 and likes to party til 3am if the park is open, so enjoy it while it lasts!!!! LMAO! Now, I am the one who wants to be in bed by 10.. LOL

BTW - i am going to WDW for Thanksgiving, so if there is something that i can get for you, to help you with your surprise, please don't hesitate to ask! just pm me.. they will have all their Christmas stuff out.. so just lmk! :) I love helping with surprises!!

Work is sending me to a conference Mar 15 - 19 - yahoo!!!! And the dates were just released for the Flower & Garden festival and they start that week - double yeah!!!! I'm so excited!!!!

Actually, the FG show starts on the 3rd of March.. - we got to go in 2008, it was awesome.. and we are thrilled we will be there again for 2010's show!! You will love it!

I appreciate the offer. :)

I've got a box here on my desk from a laptop Dell shipped back to me and what I think I'll do is print out all the stuff that was emailed for confirmations since I won't get the packet until late January, and throw in a couple planning books. Then I'll wrap that and put it under the tree tagged for someone else and get the usual assortment of "thought" gifts that I do each year (nightshirts from VS, new calendar for her office, couple DVDs, perfume, etc.) and let her open all that stuff and watch her squirm uncomfortably with no "big" present for a while before giving her the box. Yes, I know it's mean. I find ways to torment her every year at Christmas, and this will probably be my best one since our engagement when I left the ring box wrapped on top of the TV for two weeks.

The baby, well, she's into Elmo, not Mickey. So I need to get her familiar with the characters now so that she'll "get it" when we get there. I'll pick up a stuffed Mickey or something at the local Disney store for her to go with the gift, but until she's actually there I don't think she'll grasp what is coming up.

Do you know my wife? :) She's a gardener and has talked about going for the flower and garden show since the first time we went to Disney.
