Official London / Paris / Disneyland Paris Thread

We loved the Rodin Museum and gardens! Another first for us last summer was the nearby Invalides. We didn't spend much time in the military museum there, but the church where Napoleon is entombed is beautiful.

I'm not big on art museums, but I loved seeing Monet's water lilies at Musee de l'Orangerie: http://www.musee-orangerie.fr/

we don't like the rodin museum, just the gardens :)
we love to walk around them....
our favorite thing to do in paris is walk....walk walk walk walk walk....so many lovely places to walk...that's pretty much all we did...
and sit in cafes...and picnic in the Tuileries....
we only rode the metro once...it was too tiring being on guard against pickpockets all the time....(this one little pesky guy kept trying to open DH's bag....but he has bags inside bags each with a zipper, so impossible to actually succeed in stealing anything)..
(we took the metro to the city of science - an amazing place, but at the time everything was written in french - no english, so by the end i was really tired of translating everything for the kids)...
and we rode the train once - to get to DLP....
that was it...
the other 10 days were all spent walking the streets of paris...
we were at the George V, so it was pretty easy to walk everywhere from there...

Really enjoying the commentary from Kevin with Mike's pics added!!! Thanks guys!!

Wow! I REALLY can't wait to hear this podcast now!!! I have a feeling it will be a long one. And a good one!!

I have enjoyed going through this thread.
All the unique and truly magical experiences that were self-created as well as planned.
Can't wait to hear more.

We considered spending a few extra days, but John's Dad's 80th birthday is Sunday, so to NJ we are headed.

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to DLP, but I have fallen in love with Paris itself.

All of the suggestions of things to see and do sound lovely, but our "on our own" time is measured in minutes and hours....not days.

As lovely as Versailles sounds, I wouldn't trade my day in Paris for anything.

We arrived in Paris on Monday and have seen Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, the bateauxbus, shopped, had an extraordinary dinner, visited Poilane Bakery, went to Shakespear and Company, saw Sacre Coeur, Montmatre, the Latin Quarter, had lunch at a sidewalk cafe, saw the Louvre and we have slept.

We did all of this in 60 (approx.) hours. Our days have been pretty full.

We leave early tomorrow morning for the next part of our trip and I'm going to miss Paris.

I liked London, but I am ready to start a lifelong affair with Paris. It is everything I had hoped and much much more.

Paris doesn't dissappoint.

Off to bed.... more to come.

Awwww Paris! The City of Lights! It looks and sounds beautiful. Thanks for sharing your trip with us gang. :) We really appreciate it.

I know it's been discussed on the podcast, but everytime I read about the ABD trips they sound absolutely exhausting. I enjoy a trip where there is alot to see or do...I'm not one to plant myself on a beach on vacation, but whew, ABD really keeps you hopping.

I thought the same thing, but considering these are destinations you may not be visiting again or not for a while you probably want to get as much in as possible.

I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying your trip reports and your fabulous pictures! I don't think I'll every get to Paris.....but not now I feel like you've all brought part of Paris to me. I can't wait until the podcast! I think I'll have to listen while I look through your wonderful photos again, and again, and again...

We have checked out of our Paris hotel and we are now on a bus headed for Disneyland Paris.

We made a quick stop to insure that all of us will return to Paris. (Will explain more later:) )

Disneyland Paris..... here we come.
