Official London / Paris / Disneyland Paris Thread

There is a bridge near the Louvre named Pont des Arts.

For quite a while, people (and couples) have been writing their names on pad locks and locking "themselves"to the bridge.

This can symbolize your undying love to each other and your love of Paris.

By throwing the keys into the river, it's said that you are forever attached to Paris and this guarantees your return.

John and I surprised each person (or couple) with a padlock on which to write whatever they desired and had our Guides make a special stop as we departed Paris.

We had folks celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, make memorials an just promise to come ba ck to one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

We celebrated each set of keys that went in the Seine.

It was a nice way to say "until we meet again".

How lovely & sentimental. :goodvibes

It sounds like such an amazing trip! It certainly isn't in our budget in the foreseeable future (maybe someday????) but I would love love love to go!

Thanks to Mike and Kevin for posting updates!

Posting from my beautiful room at the Disneyland Hotel.

The ceilings are higher than normal and we have a patio overlooking Disneyland. We hear the train every time it goes by. Incredible.

Had a great day at Disney Studios and a backstage tour of Lights, Motor, Action....first ever. Never been done before.

Lunch at Disney Village with characters and a DLP Imagineers.

Had four private tour guides and a Disney Ambassador walk us through the park today. No one waited in line for ANYTHING!!!!!!!! If there were people in line, we went around them.

I'm pretty sure the Adventureers are spoiled and wlll have difficulty touring any Disney park without there own private guide and Ambassador.;)

Tomorrow starts early with breakfast in Walt's Restaurant (again....never been done before), private tour guided park time, lunch and then "on our own" time tomorrow afternoon.

Tomorrow night we have our farewell dinner and the something amazing.

We go back into the park after it closes for a champagne reception at Sleeping Beauty Castle. Again....never, ever been done before. We have the Magic Kindom to ourselves. 28 people.....one park.

Many of us are headed back to the States on Saturday, while several are staying extra days here or elsewhere. Paris, Dublin, Berlin and Switzerland are some of the destinations.

A bunch of us sat in the Fantasia Lounge tonight in the Disneyland Hotel.

We relived this amazing vacation and we all feel pretty lucky to have been part of it.

Who is ready for next year?:rolleyes1

 WOW! ***%%%!!! That is all I can say.....(hmm...Backstage Magic or DLP?)

So Romantic! So sweet! Kevin, again, I just adore you!

Just saw that Pete announced next year's ABD Knights and Lights w/ DLP add on
October 8 - 17
Doesn't fit my schedule :(

I know....me neither. I'm a teacher and I can only vacation on breaks. We're starting to form plans for our own Knights and Lights Tour a'la our way for summer, 2013. I'll be interested to hear more from the team about this trip b/c of that, especially if the DL hotel is worth the $$$$$$!!!!

Why oh why can't I be independently wealthy and not have to work???

That is so wonderful! My friend was recently in France and has some pictures of the locks and told me that same story.

I wish I could go on your next tour - we are fashioning our own Knights and Lights for March 2012. Too bad I won't have someone to handle my luggage. I will bring a lock however.

Amazing report - I love all your experiences. I feel sad for you Kevin that you do have to leave but "you'll always have Paris"

That is the ceiling inside Le Chateau De La Belle Au Bois Dormant (AKA Sleeping Beauty Castle).

The idea of the Chateau is that it grew organically out of the ground - hence the tree trunks.

Thanks Pete, John, Kevin, and Walter for making this a "once in a lifetime" experience!!!

And, Happy Anniversary to my Beautiful and Amazing DW, Christy!!!!

Ummmmmmm, did anyone notice the little boy in front of the car in the last picture? I'm hoping that car wasn't moving, it looks like it is hitting the little guy.

There's no one in the driver's seat, so I don't think it is moving.

Here's hoping I win the lottery, going to crusie on the dream next fall, can't convince my hubby to go to Paris at the beginning of October and then to Orlando at the end.

What's wrong with him, not like we have jobs and Children or anything.

Mike, will you please quit posting photos that were taken with the wide angle lens? It isn't in my budget right now. Do quit giving me lens envy. lol
