We considered spending a few extra days, but John's Dad's 80th birthday is Sunday, so to NJ we are headed.
Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to DLP, but I have fallen in love with Paris itself.
All of the suggestions of things to see and do sound lovely, but our "on our own" time is measured in minutes and hours....not days.
As lovely as Versailles sounds, I wouldn't trade my day in Paris for anything.
We arrived in Paris on Monday and have seen Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, the bateauxbus, shopped, had an extraordinary dinner, visited Poilane Bakery, went to Shakespear and Company, saw Sacre Coeur, Montmatre, the Latin Quarter, had lunch at a sidewalk cafe, saw the Louvre and we have slept.
We did all of this in 60 (approx.) hours. Our days have been pretty full.
We leave early tomorrow morning for the next part of our trip and I'm going to miss Paris.
I liked London, but I am ready to start a lifelong affair with Paris. It is everything I had hoped and much much more.
Paris doesn't dissappoint.
Off to bed.... more to come.
