I used the above coupons this morning from Alamo. It was a pretty good rate (end of JUne) but the site said that I need to have the coupon.

If you use the Costco contract ID you'll get a lower rate (so long as you're a member in case they ask, but that goes for the coupon as well). Having said that the rates were much lower Friday so I'd continue to look... and I also made a print out of the coupon from the Costco site

Dunno. I did that on that site, for a few different weeks, did not get anywhere near ethat rate.

For those who are looking for mini van's. I saw this on CarRentals It worked for a one way rental in Florida too! Total rate for a week came to around $259. I am staying with my mid size rental to save $100.00.


New! Get a Mini Van for $199/week at participating US locations. Use Thrifty promo code 3C10M, for rental pickup by 6/30/11. Blackout dates apply including 5/21 to 5/30.


Also Thrifty's rates dropped. My mid size car reservation base rate went down to $104. Total is around $146.00, it was $182.00 This is a one way rental from southern Florida to Orlando for a week (Sat to Sat). Using code AFDH. I am happy considering that rate when I first started checking was extremely high. Now it is reasonable.

I was able to get my rental with National for only $151 total using Continental code and Borders $30.00 coupon code. Only $5.00 more then my current Thrifty rental. My rental again is a one way rental from southern Florida to MCO for one week (Saturday to Saturday)

sigh.... I really hope my JUne 22-July 3 ressie comes dwn like the May/early June ones did....I am waiting patiently!

I have almost the same time frame for my trip - 6/21 - 7/2. Best rate I have found with little research is Budget for $344. That's down from $489 a few months back. Guess I have to keep checking!

I am using Continental Airlines code 5007160 (from MouseSavers). Borders Coupon ND3Z67ZDY (thanks to DIS member).

Base rate of $165.83, discount of $24.87, discount coupon $30.00. Total with all taxes and fees is $151.38

This is a one way rental from southern Florida to MCO for one week with a overnight Saturday. Maybe MCO to MCO rentals are higher then a one way rental to MCO.

Also, for Alamo I am getting the same base rate of $165.83, discount of 16.58. discount coupon from Visa of $30.00 (the $40.00 insiders rate expires prior to my rental period). Total with all taxes and fees is $161.14. Contract ID 7015504 for Visa cardholders. You can get the coupon code from Visa on Mousesavers.

I check my car rental rates daily and have seen them go down one day and back up the next day.

I was just looking at care rentals through the Costco website. I already have one reserved but I wanted to see if they had a cheaper price than the one I already have reserved. I have a compact reserved for our trip June 14-21 for $186 (after taxes, etc). Anyway, I used the code ID# 7014627, Coupon# AU2291VYT and got a Premium car for the same price. Wow , Gas prices must really be higher than I thought in FL. I went ahead and reserved it so that I can talk to dh when he gets up.

But overall it is weird, indeed. But good too. I will still continue to look for a better deal since we still have 29 days left.
