DSis and I just got back from a local recital by our old dance company. They put on The Lion King just like we did twenty years ago. Maybe I'm just a sucker for nostalgia, but this underwhelmed us on our search to kick off the 'unofficial start of summer' with some 'Disney Magic'. We mixed all the dance styles when I was a kid (ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling), but this time it was ten ballet 'songs', done with Lion King, move on to 2.5 hours of loud Hip Hop racket.

(I mean no offense to anyone who enjoys hiphop music; personally the strong bass gives me a migraine.) Clearly it wasn't the Disney pick-me-up experience we were looking for, although I will admit the "He Lives in You" scene was amazing!
So, instead we're watching a Don Bluth film to cheer ourselves up and we'll try something else after my cousin's wedding tomorrow.

No MagicBands yet.
