***Official June, 2012! Hot, hot, hot!!!***

My wife got the itch (which is rare) and one thing led to another. As of last night, we are officially booked for June 25-30, 2012 @ POFQ!!! So excited! :thumbsup2

That sounds like how we ended up with a June trip. I caught my DH (who hates to plan or talk about WDW trips, but has a good time once we're there) pricing WDW trips.

So, just how bad is the heat in early June? I was looking at these necks cooling things, that also have something that I can slip into my bra to help with cooling there. The price isn't bad, but I was wondering if they are really needed.

It's hot as hades, and I'm not even kidding! I have one of the Frogg Toggs Chilly pads, and it is a life saver. Although, I find that if I can cool my neck, the rest of me cools down faster. If I could find something to go in my bra, that would be even better. We hit the parks at opening and leave by noon for a swim/rest and then head back to the park about 4 so we miss the worst of the heat.

We have a small cooler/lunch bag that has a hard plastic liner in it, Dh puts a couple of gatorade and bottled water in it with some ice from the hotel ice machine and I toss in a wash cloth from the bathroom and can pull it out to wipe off my face, then I put it in a ziploc bag and store it in the cooler.

I didn't even think about the ziploc bag thing. I'll have to bring a soft sided cooler along so we can do that. I'll PM you the info for the ones that go in your bra. I don't want to get in trouble for linking it in the thread. My DH thinks I'm crazy for wanting to buy them.

I got it, I think for that price, I'm gonna give them a try. My hubby might laugh at me, but oh well.

Check out the Chilly Pad, it stays cool without needing ice or a cooler, even though we still take ours. It is so neat. Most if not all sportings goods stores have them. I got mine at the Px. Iuse it alot of places besides Disney.

Would somebody please send me the link to where I can learn about these cool pacs? Being Muslim I am already covered head to toe so anything to keep me cool inside would be AWESOME. I try to stay out of the sporting goods stores around here because everything is so expensive so if I can purchase it online that would be even better. Thanks!

Google polar products or pair of cool58.:surfweb:

The Frogg Togg Chilly Pad is available on Amazon.com, but by the time you pay shipping it would be the same price as at the sporting goods shop. They are usually $12.99 to $14.99. If you know someone who can shop on a military instillation, I got mine for $9.99.

I will check those out. My DH is an appliance repair guy and he can get pretty miserable in the summer working on appliances in garages.

Eww, I feel miserable for him. It would be perfect for him, because if it ever feels like it's drying or no longer cooling, just wet it under hot or cold water and wring it out for it to get cool again.

We have our trip finalized, well at least the WDW part. My DH got in another one of those funky moods where he wanted to talk about the trip (I just wish he got them more often:lmao:). He wanted to talk about the ADRs and we went over menus for every single one. He made me change a few, but there were a couple that I just wouldn't budge on.
As of now, our ADRs are:
6/4/12
Lunch - Yak & Yeti
Dinner - Fulton's Crab House

6/5/12
Lunch - Biergarten
Dinner - Restaurant Marrakesh

6/6/12
Lunch - Mama Melrose's
Dinner - Le Cellier

6/7/12
Lunch - Liberty Tree Tavern
Dinner - California Grill (ADR is for 9:20 PM on a night Wishes starts at 10PM, so hopefully, we'll be eating during the fireworks.)

6/8/12
Late Breakfast - Chef Mickey's

Surprisingly, it was my DH that insisted that we do Chef Mickey's for breakfast.
Now we just need to plan the drive there and back.

WOW! I am so jealous right now, I cant get my husband to agree to ANY sit down meals :( Sounds like a great vacation you have planned!

My DH didn't want to do any either. I just made eating at QSs sound as good of an idea as jumping into a pool of sharks covered in blood. I told him that the lines to order food would be very long and it would be hard to find a table, which would stress me out. That a TS would be a nice break from the FL heat, and we wouldn't have to fight for tables. We would just wait in an AC area for our table to be ready. I tried to make eating all QS to sound as terrible as I could. It worked, and now we'll get to try several of the places that I have been wanting to try. Due to the length of the trip, I'm not getting them all in. I guess we'll just be forced to come back. oh darn :lmao:

Also, I think I've figured out how to tell the boys about our trip. So far they don't know we are going to WDW. We have told them that we are going to Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach, which is true. We are going there after WDW. I think what we'll do is we'll check into an Orlando hotel the day before we check into WDW. Then when we get up the next morning to "drive to Cocoa Beach", I'll "convince the DH to at least drive me onto WDW property". We will then drive to the Pop Century and let them in on the surprise.

We'll be there June 11th - 19th celebrating my DD's "Sweet 16". There will be 10 of us staying in a GV at the BWV. We will have 4 teenage girls with us so if you see a group of wild and crazy teenagers those probably belong to us. :thumbsup2 Also doing a site visit for my oldest DD's DFTW. So very exciting times for us.

I am so jealous about Marrakesh, I really wanted to dine there but was afraid my husband and kiddos would not appreciate the cuisine!

My DH doesn't care about the food at Marrakesh. For him, it's all about the belly dancers.:lmao:

How exciting congrats on your DD's upcoming wedding :goodvibes

Just added QS dining to our 6/25-6/30 vacation at POFQ, bummer it's not free in June. Now that we're all booked up, it's "hurry up and wait" mode for the next 4 months.

It seems to pass the time better if I log in to the Disney site every few hours and just glance at our reservation. ;)

I do that too!! My DH thinks I'm crazy for doing it. It makes it even harder that the WDW part of the trip is a secret from the boys.

We are only doing 3 TS restaurants. It's just too dang hot to eat like that and I would not onyl be miserable from teh heat, but miserable from eating.

We arrive early in the morning of June 6th, check into Pop and probably have breakfast at the resort before we head to Epcot, or at least that's my plan.

June 7th:

Kouzzina Breakfast

June 8th: My birthday

Crystal Palace Breakfast
Raglan Rd Dinner

We're taking my in-laws and Dh advised them that we would be paying for the hotel, so that cut my budget a little, but I don't like to eat alot that time of year anyway. This wil be their first time there and I am not sure how they will want to eat. We did alot of eating in January and I just didn't want to this time, although I really want to add Yachtsman, it was outstanding, as was Raglan Rd. I just don't know what the in-laws can afford.

Maybe once they get here, I can talk about it more. I may go ahead and make a reservation at Yachtsman, just in case.

I guess we try to eat at off times, so we haven't really experienced long lines at the CS places. I think I really hit the snacks more when it's so hot. A nice popsicle hits the spot, or a pretzel.

That sounds like a great way to surprise the boys. Our trip sort of started out as a visit to Daytona and I worked my way down to WDW, I mean it is MY birthday, I think I should get to pick where we go. I would go nuts being at the beach and only 1 hour from WDW. I'm not even sure we will make it to Daytona now, unless we go that way home.

Thanks so much! She is getting married at the Wedding Pavilion in June 2013. We are just getting started on the planning and it is very exciting.
