We have our trip finalized, well at least the WDW part. My DH got in another one of those funky moods where he wanted to talk about the trip (I just wish he got them more often
). He wanted to talk about the ADRs and we went over menus for every single one. He made me change a few, but there were a couple that I just wouldn't budge on.
As of now, our ADRs are:
6/4/12
Lunch - Yak & Yeti
Dinner - Fulton's Crab House
6/5/12
Lunch - Biergarten
Dinner - Restaurant Marrakesh
6/6/12
Lunch - Mama Melrose's
Dinner - Le Cellier
6/7/12
Lunch - Liberty Tree Tavern
Dinner - California Grill (ADR is for 9:20 PM on a night Wishes starts at 10PM, so hopefully, we'll be eating during the fireworks.)
6/8/12
Late Breakfast - Chef Mickey's
Surprisingly, it was my DH that insisted that we do Chef Mickey's for breakfast.
Now we just need to plan the drive there and back.
We are only doing 3 TS restaurants. It's just too dang hot to eat like that and I would not onyl be miserable from teh heat, but miserable from eating.
We arrive early in the morning of June 6th, check into Pop and probably have breakfast at the resort before we head to Epcot, or at least that's my plan.
June 7th:
Kouzzina Breakfast
June 8th: My birthday
Crystal Palace Breakfast
Raglan Rd Dinner
We're taking my in-laws and Dh advised them that we would be paying for the hotel, so that cut my budget a little, but I don't like to eat alot that time of year anyway. This wil be their first time there and I am not sure how they will want to eat. We did alot of eating in January and I just didn't want to this time, although I really want to add Yachtsman, it was outstanding, as was Raglan Rd. I just don't know what the in-laws can afford.
Maybe once they get here, I can talk about it more. I may go ahead and make a reservation at Yachtsman, just in case.
My DH didn't want to do any either. I just made eating at QSs sound as good of an idea as jumping into a pool of sharks covered in blood. I told him that the lines to order food would be very long and it would be hard to find a table, which would stress me out. That a TS would be a nice break from the FL heat, and we wouldn't have to fight for tables. We would just wait in an AC area for our table to be ready. I tried to make eating all QS to sound as terrible as I could. It worked, and now we'll get to try several of the places that I have been wanting to try. Due to the length of the trip, I'm not getting them all in. I guess we'll just be forced to come back. oh darn
Also, I think I've figured out how to tell the boys about our trip. So far they don't know we are going to WDW. We have told them that we are going to Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach, which is true. We are going there after WDW. I think what we'll do is we'll check into an Orlando hotel the day before we check into WDW. Then when we get up the next morning to "drive to Cocoa Beach", I'll "convince the DH to at least drive me onto WDW property". We will then drive to the Pop Century and let them in on the surprise.
I guess we try to eat at off times, so we haven't really experienced long lines at the CS places. I think I really hit the snacks more when it's so hot. A nice popsicle hits the spot, or a pretzel.
That sounds like a great way to surprise the boys. Our trip sort of started out as a visit to Daytona and I worked my way down to WDW, I mean it is MY birthday, I think I should get to pick where we go. I would go nuts being at the beach and only 1 hour from WDW. I'm not even sure we will make it to Daytona now, unless we go that way home.
