Interesting! Thanks for everyones thoughts on the June 14th issue. Easywdw lists MK as avoid that day. Huh!?1??!

Kind of an odd thing I found was this thread from last year that June 14th was listed with abnormally HIGH crowd levels.

I guess I am going to plan MK for Weds. 13th as we are staying off property. I dont do EMH parks when staying off property!

Wednesday would be my pick for MK as well with your dates and being offsite. As far as HS on 6/14, I'm not sure what is going on there. I would guess some after hours event with a 6pm close. Everyplace I look shows no Fantasmic for that night as well. I think you could have a really good day at HS if you don't mind the 6pm close. As far as MK on the 14th---it is showing EMH in the morning---you would get crushed. We are opting for Universal on that day. We were originally planning on HS for that day but changed a few things after I saw the 6pm close. Good luck with what ever you decide!!!

It seems in your signature you are offsite so I would NOT go to MK on 6/14 because of Extra Magic Hours. I would say HS or EP.

Extra Magic Hour(s), a.k.a. EMH, are times when a certain park or parks will be open 1 hour earlier or 3 hours later only for those folks staying on Disney property. Some people swear by them and use them to their advantage, while others avoid parks that have them on those particular days. It's all in how you feel like touring.

A planning resource we're using is easywdw.com to see a free crowd calendar along with EMH for each day of our trip. Others like trouingplans.com for their crowd calendar and actual plans for each park. But that's a pay site, so if you aren't willing to pony up the small fee, then you won't get their analysis.

I find that easywdw gives good reasons for what parks to go to and why to avoid certain parks. We used them to determine what days we are focusing on what parks and we planned our meals around that...but have park hoppers "just in case" and for those days we will want to move around a bit.

Thanks for the reply. I believe we will skip HS on the 14th. We have some first timers with us this time and I feel they really ought to see Fantasmic. So the 14th will be either IOA or just a pool/downtown disney day/ old town kissimmee day.

My niece leaves Saturday 1-21 for Disney. She has never been and has done no resaearch at all. They have free dining with 1 ts and 1 qs a day and have not made any reservations. I suggested she make some and she said they are going to wing it since this is a once in a lifetime trip for them. I am having to bite my tongue to keep from telling her how important I think it is to at least know what park you want to go to on which days, which characters are important to search out, etc. She is going to wait until they get home to see if she wants the photopass pictures even though it is discounted before and she can get her money back if not happy. I need help!!!!!!!!! I'm having a hard time staying out of it. Not that any of you can help me but I just needed a sounding board. lol

I think the hard part is that our first trip was not at all scheduled we stopped for a day coming home from Ft. Lauderdale. Had know idea how big the place was and didn't even see all of the MK. Before our next trip I did alot of reading and studying WDW. Just hate to see her spend all that money for 5 days and leave disapponted. OK, thanks again for letting me sound off.

We will be there 6-9 - 6-24. 7 of us, staying at the BWV!!! YAY!

We just decided to do the Dining Plan, so working on that angle. Can't wait to get to Disney again!

As a question, how much rain should we expect? I've never been there in June since generally we're winter goers to WDW!

Our last 4 trips were in June. You can expect a downpour several of your days in the afternoon. 4:00ish

However, it is funny because we will hear people talking about a storm at AK one day, and we had no rain at MK on the same day. So, it is hit and miss. Watch the skies and be prepared.

It won't last long. We wait it out as much as possible and then keep going. One of our favorite nights at MK was during a horrible storm. Everyone was running for the exits. We waited it out. The park was supposed to close at 11:00 but they hadn't set off the Wishes fireworks. So we took our time and sure enough at about 11:15 they set them off. No music or tinkerbell; just fireworks. We were practically alone on Main Street watching. It was so beautiful. We still talk about "the time we watched the fireworks soaking wet". And Boy were we wet!!!
