Official JUNE 2009 Thread!!!

We'll be there June 13-20 and are staying at CBR!
Not celebrating anything other than our kids' first trip. And we were planning on coming even before the 4/3 deal. LOL!

YAY!

Pop...June 14th-23rd...:) Maybe we'll see you in the parks.

Congratulations on your first trip, and your hotel deal!

Be sure to read lots of threads on this board to plan your trip -- it will be hot and crowded while you're there, so read up on all the hints and tips for dealing with that. Prepare for your room to be rather small -- it will be close quarters for the three of you. As enjoyable as the theming is at the All Stars and Pop -- the rooms are small motel rooms, and parking and the food court may be far away from your room. Lots of people love them however (my 3-person family was not comfortable there-- but you can just ignore me, and have lots and lots of fun if you preplan).

Do a lot of planning but be aware that you will not be able to do everything (WDW is beyond huge); be flexible; and have fun!

That said, back to this thread -- we'll be there June 6-23, on and off-property.

Thanks!
I have never even researched Disney before, this is all a bit over whelming right now. I think my first step is buying an unofficial guide?
Any suggestions on which is best?

I noticed you're going about the same time we are. We will be staying at Pop Century June 14th-23rd. Definitely buy the 2009 Unofficial Guide--it will give you a WEALTH of information from restaurants to attractions for all ages. IF you would like additional help, PM me and I'll tell you what I know :) even though I havent' been since 1995...I know enough to help you :)

Love Boma! Only been for dinner-what meal are you going for?
WS- I like San Angel. Their food is okay, but their atomosphere is awesome! We went to Chefs de France and it was okay. I wasn't happy with my selection. I asked my server about it before I ordered, but I don't think she totally understood me! I have hear great things about Biergarten and might give it a try. Like to try MArrakesh, since we love the Tangeriene Cafe.

We are planning on a dinner. We are staying at AKL and will do that on our relax evening. We found on our last trip that throwing in one or two evenings to stay at the resort and relax made a much more enjoyable trip. Plus is seems like there are so many things to do there.

Thanks!

I have the Unofficial Guide, Birnbaums, and The Passporter. I'd definitely recommend the Passporter. I don't care for the Unofficial Guide at all.

I like the Unofficial Guide...but have also seen the Passporter :) I've seen Birnbaum's and actually have 2008's version.

Anyone going in June who will be on the lookout for other DIS folks? We tried a couple of years ago to do the limegreen thing (LGMH's on our hats and packs, sometimes a LG shirt) -- but never got any waves or indications of other DIS'ers. Limegreen was popular that year anyway for non-DIS'ers.

Looks like a pretty long list for June in first post.

I'll be sporting my lime green this year. I wore my mickey's last year and didn't spot any disers. Hopefully this year I'll spot someone.

I only want two ADRs Boma for dinner and Biergarten for lunch. I'm scared about not getting them, with so many people going for the Buy 4 get 3 Free.

I love to read and have all these books. The Passporter is my favorite because it becomes a keepsake. I love to pull out the book from our 2004 trip and remember all the fun we had. Each of the books has something to offer and I think it is good to get different perspectives.

I have two definite ADR's I want to make--Garden Grill and Boma. I think we are going to try for the Fantasmic dinner and go with Mama Melrose. We are also considering Donald's Breakfast at AK. Anybody have a suggestion for a country in Epcot?

We love Canada Le Cellier or Coral Seas. Best steak at Canada, teens loved fish at Coral. Have a great time!

Pop Century June 14th-23rd :) I'll try to get the lime green thingies.

Just booked our first trip! It took years to save up and now I'm taking my son and grandson!

Mymom says she like to take mykids, but she'd never get to go without me! SHe'd open up her suitcase to find me as a stowaway!

Not sure if I posted yet or not...In any case, we will be staying at the BC from 6/11-6/18 to do Disney after a one week stay at the Marriott Horizon's and a few days at Sea World. We've been to WDW before but never stayed on property. The kids donn't know about the Disney part of our trip. They think we're spending a 2nd week in a different timeshare.

Airline tickets are purchased.
1 ADR down- CRT for lunch.
- Need to pay off trip w/ tax return
-justing waiting to make the rest of the ADR's.

Well be there from may 31st-June 8th, staying at Pop.

Disney World Newbie here, and I'm taking my wife and six year old daughter to DW on June 4th to June 11th. The wife and I are both born on the same day (June 9th) and so we're taking advantage of the free admission special. It is also Donald Duck's birthday as well, and he happens to be my favorite Disney character so I am very stoked to go to DW on that day. Plane tickets are all paid for, and we're staying with an aunt who lives close by. I'm still trying to figure out the admission ticket processes, park hopper passes, fastpasses, and such. I've been directed by some of you DISers to some websites, so I'll be doing some heavy reading and determining the best way to plan for this trip. I do have a couple of questions:

Anyone know if DW is planning any type of celebration for Donald Duck? Surely they wouldn't leave the duck out on his 75th b-day.

I would love to see Scrooge McDuck when I visit DW. Is there a character schedule that I can look at for appearances?

Thanks, and wheeeeee I'm goin' to Disney World!
