Official JUNE 2009 Thread!!!

Have any of you been in June before? I'd like to know what to expect as far as crowds go!

We were there last year, June 12-19 for my daughter's 16th birthday. It was crowded, but not unmanageably so. We had been seven months earlier the week of Thanksgiving, and that was much more crowded! Just make good use of Fastpasses. Do you have Parkhoppers? Some don't like it, but we wouldn't go without it! If the park you have chosen on a certain day is too crowded for your liking, go to another one! Epcot was always our go-to park when we got overwhelmed by crowds. A liesurely stroll through World Showcase is just the ticket after fighting the crowds at MK or AK all morning!

We've been many times in June. The Unofficial Guide lists the crowds as an 8 out of 10 for most of June. Crowded but managable. You need to have a plan & be willing to get up early, at least some of the time.

We went in June last year and only had really big crowds at AK. But, we did have a plan and got up at the crack of dawn every morning.

This trip is going to be so much different from mine in the past. For one, DH isn't coming. So it's just me and my 4 and 5 year old. Usually we wake up around 10 and stay at the parks all day until the end of EMH's. I will not be able to do that this time though! lol! So we'll get up early and stay until lunch and then go swim and rest and go back in the evening. We also don't usually have hoppers, but I did get them this time because I thought it'd make it easier!

I don't mind the crowds so much. We'll be there 9 days and will have ample time to visit the parks. Plus with EMH's will make it even better. Figured we could ride the "BIG" attractions then and hit up the "smaller" attractions.

My ressie has changed a bit. We upgraded for the 4/3 special (so now we're 20-27 instead of 20-26) and I moved us to ASMo. I'm a little concerned about the move from CBR, but my my mother was supposed to go with my DD4 and I. Thanks to her job, it may just be the two of us, and saving a little extra $$ seemed like it would work out better. Tell me I haven't made a mistake!

I think your atttitude and planning has a lot to do with a successful vacation, not the place you are staying. I'm sure you'll have a WONDERFUL trip!

We are going the same days that you are but staying at POP at my son's request. He wants to swim in the bowling pin pool!

We'll be at Pop the 15th - 22nd. . .obviously a wonderful week to be there! (Of course, ANY week is a great week to be at Disney!)

We will be at POP the same exact dates!!!! Maybe we will run into each other.....

We will be going on our first trip to Disney World May 30-June 6. This will be a double celebration for us with our youngest turning 5 on May 31st at the park. Right now I am waiting on the custom maps to come in and wrap them as gifts for the girls since the oldest will be 9 on valentine's day. DH was reluctent about going but I finally talked him into it with the buy 4 nights get 3 free deal. I really love looking at the boards and am starting to get the itenerary done with everyones help so a great big thanks from Alabama.

Good going for using the teacher discount! We looked closely at that since one of us is a teacher but we just cant pry ourselves away from WL. I actually forgot what our rates would be but I do remember that it was a huge savings over what we have now. Wish Disney would do the same type of discount! Not going to grumble though. Just happy that we're going!!

Just booked a trip for my family again. We just took a August trip and we are coming back for more. Of course with the Military special on tickets I couldn't pass this up. I was going to stay at the Caribbean, but ultimately decided on Shades Of Green. Never stayed there so I want to see how it is. Looking forward to planning.... AGAIN...lol

We just booked 2 rooms for 8ppl we will be getting there on the 14th leaving on the 21st it will be the first trip for 4 of the ppl in my group .i cant wait im setting everything up.matching t-shirts for everyone i hope everyne has a great trip half the funs getting ready for it

Other than just normal planning on what youre going to do while youre at Disney , just make the reservation and forget about it. These things will run you crazy if you let it. I used to be the same way. The only thing i've thought about our stay is what fun we'll have when we get there and making a payment on it.
