Hope you have a great time.

We are here at POR and we do have a working fridge

Good news! :thumbsup2

If we ever get this vacation off the ground it will be nothing less than miraculous. Life has thrown some pretty tough curveballs :worried: at our family in the weeks leading up to our trip, and yesterday we received some discouraging news, and we nearly had to call it quits, and cancel. Although there are some dark clouds lingering, we've decided we really need to detach from the gloom and doom, and move forward with our plans. So I find myself trying to get excited for the trip all over again. I thought we could get motivated by packing; since up until today, we'd been staring at a pile of empty suitcases. So tonight after supper, we went out bought our Disney gift cards, road trip snacks, and we came home and had a big packing marathon to reclaim a little magic.pixiedust:

I am sorry for the troubles. Here's to hoping things improve. Maybe Disney will be just the right thing.

So Im in the Boneyard at Animal Kingdom today, and my two are running around, and I see this woman who looks AWFUL familiar. I am wondering to myself where have I seen this woman before. I got up really close, and then I see two kids running toward her... Griffin and Ethan. How do I I know these kids names I ask myself? OH!!! lightbulb!!:thumbsup2 From the DISBOARDS! lol. It was Teachermommy78. I literally RAN into her in the BoneYard in Dinoland this afternoon. She got a great pic of me, my kids, her, and her two youngest. What a funny Disboards moment. What are the chances of that happening?pixiedust:

We're over at Bonnet Creek now after 5 days at a very nice off site resort called Silver Lake. If you are an RCI owner or have family who own RCI, it is a fantastic Resort. REALLY clean and literally across the highway from Animal Kingdom.

Too funny! I noticed her kids two years ago at 'Ohana when we were there. It was really funny. Didn't get a chance to actually meet. By the time we could find them, they were walking out of the restaurant, but when TeacherMommy78 posted pictures on her trip report, my kids were in the picture. Love Dis run-ins.

On the way to the airport

Sent from my EVO using DISBoards

Hope you have a terrific time! Enjoy!

Getting ready to wake up the girls and head to the airport! Oh my gosh we will be in Disney this afternoon!!

Woohoo! have a magical time!

Just heading to bed at the airport hotel! Woohoo this time tomorrow we'll be at Disney!!!!! :D

The day for Disney is here.
So get ready to shout and cheer.
Here is hoping your trip is a blast.
May pixie dust and fun always last.
Disney is waiting for you.
Hope all your dreams come true.

ITS FINALLY HERE About to go wake up DS and REVEAL the surprise :banana:

Love surprises!!! We surprised DD in 2010. Drove to the airport, pulled out suitcases and told her where we were going.....she cried and cried tears of happiness :) Best memory ever!!!

After a fantastic 14 night holiday at WDW we finally got home last night. Serious jet lag today but we are getting there. Wish I was still on the count down as I think it will be a while before we get to go back again :(

Glad everyone is having a fantastic time!

I am glad you had a wonderful time. Maybe when you get settled at home you can share some experiences with us. :)

Back from a great week (7/06-13.) This was our first time going in July so wondered how it would compare to our previous May/June trips. Sorry this will probably be long. Feel free to skip over if you get bored ;)

First thing we noticed...THE TOUR GROUPS!!! :scared1: They were everywhere!!! However, we didn't feel the overall crowd level was that bad. Wait times were short and often less than posted. :thumbsup2

Weather was about as perfect as we could have asked for. Only had a 5-10 minute sprinkle a couple days. Heat/sun weren't near what I was afraid of. We even came home from Florida without a tan! :sad2:

Tried a couple new things "thanks" to free coupons in our MYW pkg....both were major disappointments. Fantasia Gardens mini golf was cute, I suppose, but wasn't worth the time. Didn't help that this was probably our hottest day and they had us so backed up we were waiting & waiting on each hole. Wished they would have put some more time between each group. Also went to Disney Quest. OMG! I can't imagine PAYING to get in to this place. It was dark, loud, dirty, understaffed--just a total waste! Hated it! We did both of these on the same day so needless to say, not a good day.

On the brighter side--we did lunch at BOG. When we got to the bridge the line was back quite all the way to the beginning. The CM said it would be an hour wait. I asked DD & she wanted to wait. From the time we got in line until we were walking out with full tummies, it was an hour! :thumbsup2 Once inside there were TONS of empty tables. We chose the main room and sat along the "snowing" windows. The food was fine, nothing great, nothing bad--but the experience was pretty cool & so glad we "waited."

Finally had lunch at Le Cellier. I have wanted to try the famous cheese soup & pretzel bread but couldn't see paying for four of us to eat there. Figured this mother/daughter trip was my big chance! We were in the first seating so were there pre-opening. Thought it was cool when all the staff came up and sang the Canadian National Anthem before opening. The cheese soup & pretzel bread were yummy! BUT--after bringing the food, or waiter disappeard--:confused3 Never came back to check on us, our drinks were empty, the bread was long gone even before our meals arrived and the bowl just sat there. Meanwhile I'm watching other servers being attentive and interacting with their tables. The saving of this experience was our waiter did finally reappear and had a chocolate mousse dessert for DD in recognition of her birthday button. Needless to say, all was forgiven. ;)

Another day at Epcot we tried Via Napoli. Pizza was good, but not worth the hype. It is a good value though so I can see why people go there. Restaurant was very loud and tables close together which didn't help.

The day before we left DD asked if we were going to 1900PF--?!? Told her I hadn't planned on it (we've done breakfast & dinner there on previous trips.) She said she realllly wanted to have dinner there. Couldn't believe it but there were several times available. I quickly came to the conclusion this is more an experience for younger kids. The characters hardly stopped long enough to sign an autograph & take a picture. Looking around though they would sit, chat, dance, etc, etc with the little kids. My DD is 9, but this was her big request (probably based on her previous dinner experience here when she was 5--which was much like the other little kids were getting this night.) Our server was good, but for the $$ spent and DD's disappointment, this was a big let down.

I sort of came to the conclusion that a dining party of 2 (mother/daughter) did not get the same service as a larger party. I know we might not order as much=bigger tip, but we still paid good money. The thought that came to mind after every meal with an ADR--not worth the money.

Did not get to meet Gaston :sad1: Every CM we asked gave a different time he was scheduled to appear. After lingering around the fountain area for an hour we finally gave up. Checked back on our second MK day and he was not there that day--:sad1: :sad1:

We did have some pixie dust moments though. DD received a cinnamon roll for her birthday button at Gaston's Tavern. Had some great character interactions with Chip & Dale (multiple times--DD's favorite!), Goofy, Buzz & Captain Hook. She got to dress a stuffed Duffy bear at our resort gift shop. Had lots of fun trading pins & vinylmations.

AND--we ran into Tom & Sarah Bricker!!! :cool1: I felt like it was my own "character" meet & greet. We were going thru the line for BTMR and there they were, off to the side taking pictures of the decor. They were so nice to talk to me. DD thought I was crazy, but I was sure excited! :cool2:

All in all, another great Disney trip--made all the more special because I got to share it one on one with my DD.

Thanks for the trip report. I know that Disney Quest has many fans, but I felt the same way, and could not wait to get out of there! Happy to hear you enjoyed good weather, but sorry to hear some of your dining was disappointing, especially the character interaction...bummer. We are going to try the pizza at VN, but the way you described the seating situation, I don't believe we'll enjoy a peaceful, leisurely meal there. :rotfl: Happy to hear that your time with DD was very special.:goodvibes

Glad to hear that overall you had a good time in Disney with your daughter. Yeah, I wasn't overally impressed with Disney Quest either. My DS really likes it though so while DD and I go shopping, DH takes DS to Disney Quest. It's a win-win for us, but my DD has no interest in it and either do I.

We love Chip and Dale also. Glad your DD was ablle to see a lot of them.

Sorry your 1900 Park Fare experience was not what your daughter remembered. My daughter really wanted to go there again this trip. I hope the character interaction is good. She really loves the step sisters and their antics.

Hi everybody, just found these boards. I am going to Orlando/Disney July 27-Aug 3. We hadn't been planning a trip. My mom arranged the trip as a surprise for us using a friends time share. We just found out 2 weeks ago & it has been a total last min. trip. Lodging is paid for & we will be driving. Since we hadn't planned on a such a huge vacation (But are super excited anyway) we don't have a ton of money to take with us. My girls are 6 & my youngest is 4 on the 26th. I know that I really want to do Magic Kingdom with them but what else? We are going to Sea World one day (I have season passes from my local Busch Gardens that gets me in). I saw the boutique where they make you look like a princess. Is that worth it? Also what is BOG that I keep seeing?

Sorry I'm sure that I sound stupid but I haven't been to Disney for 10+ years. My girls don't know yet & we plan telling them this Saturday.

The boutique is expensive. BOG is Be Our Guest restaurant in the new Fantasyland at MK. You can find out costs of boutique on easywdw.com. I think it is way over rated. What a nice surprise from your mom! You are not stupid. I am still trying to figure out some letters for places!! ;-). Have a reat time!

I would say definitely do Magic Kingdom with your girls and maybe Hollywood Studios if your girls are in to Disney Jr. And shows like Sophia the First and Mickey Mouse or Doc McStuffins.

This is the first time I am taking my DD to The Boutique. I feel like it's something we will do once with her. She's been waiting the last two years. Reservations fill up fast though so if you are interested, don't wait too long.

BOg is Be Our Guest restaurant which is new to Magic Kingdom. Very hard to get dinner reservations for this one. Lunch is a quick service meal with no reservations required.

Hope you have a wonderful time. Feel free to ask anymore questions you might have.
