Water Park Today!!!

Hi,
I am exited to join the thread!!!
This will be the first time we go as a family, I have been twice but DH not and we are taking our 2 year old. I am beyond exited. We are staying offsite.
We got our tickets today from undercover tourist and will have a car.

We arrive on july 2nd and leave on the 9th and have a 4 day Magic your way with no park hopper. What I am most concerned is that our toddler will not tolerate too much waiting and heat, or make it through a full day without a nap. We want to enjoy the little moments, not hit a ton of attractions. Definitely meet characters, my boy sleeps with Pooh and loves Mickey. I thought I will alternate days of rest with days int he park
Here are our plans so far:

July 3rd- Magic Kingdom after naptime. 4pm Crystal Palace reservation. Want to make it to the fireworks!
July4th- Relax in the pool
July 5th- Magic kingdom. Go at opening, take a break for a nap, can I leave and come back? How long will it take if my hotel is 20 minutes away (plus parking, monorail, security etc)?
July 6th- Relax, go to a yet undetermined park in the evening
July 7th- Animal Kingdom. Go at opening. Lunch at Tusker House
July 8th- Relax in the pool.

Will it be worth it to go to Epcot at all? Is there anything a 2 year old will enjoy there?
What are your must do attraction with a toddler?

thanks for the feedback! can't wait to get there
Lucia

I have a 6 year old and 2 year old. If I had to choose would skip Epcot and go to Hollywood Studios. They have Muppet (theater seats) and Disney Jr (everyone sits on the floor) shows that my 6 year old loved at this age and I can't wait for my 2 year old to see. Also outside of the Playhouse Disney Live show there are character meet and greats. Both shows are indoor and air conditioned so good get out of the heat attractions. Epcot does not have many "rides" or shows for a 2 year old UNLESS they love Finding Nemo then you could visit The Seas but you can see the Finding Nemo show at Animal Kingdom too. Honestly I think the AK Nemo show is more entertaining than Epcot Nemo ride.

Must do MK rides:
Dumbo, Small World, Aladdins Magic Carpet, Winnie the Pooh, The train that goes all around the park, Tomorrow Land Speedway, Peter Pan's Flight, the Laugh Floor, Jungle Cruise...probably more just can't think right now,
the fireworks and evening parade are after most kids bed time but worth staying to see, find a spot early send someone else from your group to get hot dogs from Casey's Corner and eat while you're waiting. 2 year old can stay in carriage for parade but you may need to pick them up for fireworks - if they haven't fallen asleep.:cloud9:

We take breaks and don't stay on property. It take about a 15 -25 minutes to park, wait for tram or monorail, go through security, and go through turnstiles. So you should add 45 minutes to one hour (there may be traffic outside of Disney traffic) total travel time for off property to back in park time.

My kids have been going to Epcot since the youngest was 8 months old. We always find things for them to do. They loved Spaceship Earth, Journey into Imagination, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Turtle Talk with Crush, The Land boat ride, and they really like the countries in World Showcase especially the ones with rides. We have never run out of things to do.

I agree that you might want to try Hollywood Studios. It all depends.

However, with that being said, we always find that MK really needs two full days to do everything especially with little ones. Just a thought for you to consider.

Really wish we didn't have to change plans and move our trip later. Would loved to have met all you guys. We def. need to see pictures.

11 days til we leave
13 days til we check in at CSR. :cool1:

Starting to try and plan out what we do each day...
We have the 4-day Magic your way tickets (no hopper)
So far I have :

July 4 - Swimming at Dig Site and walking around areas that don't need park tickets
July 5 - Epcot (Magic Hours 8-9am)
July 6 - Magic Kingdom Park (Magic Hours 8-9am)
July 7 - Hollywood Studios
July 8 - Animal Kingdom (Magic Hours 8-9 am)
July 9 - Leave for Gulfport Mississippi for beach time

Have not figured out about where or what to eat yet.
Open to suggestions at each park
We don't have the dinner plan, girls don't eat that much (finger food like burgers / chicken finger(nuggets) and fries for them).

In Epcot, Sunshine Seasons in the Land is good especially for Quick Service. In MK, we like Columbia Harbour House or Tomorrowland Terrace for burgers and things. Animal Kingdom we really like Pizzafari or Flame tree BBQ. Don't really have a good one at HS to recommend. We usually eat TS there.

We leave in 7 days and I can't wait!
We are arriving on the 30th June staying offsite for 5 days and then heading to the Poly on July 5th to the 14th. We have a 14 day pass so will be overdosing on Disney! Perfect.

May drop by for a DIS MEET - sounds fun! Any excuse for a Dole Whip float!!!

We'll be at the Poly at the same time! We are there from the 10 - 17! Excited to try CL for the first time!!!

Do people still do the Lime Green Mickey head things? I usually have them hanging off my bags when in the parks so DISers can spot me.

I do too. Our August group last year made custom ones but I'll still have them hanging on my bag.

Hi Everyone! Just joined yesterday. We have 28 days to go. Staying at POR. Looking forward to doing everything!

Make sure you utilize fast passes. They are a necessity especially in summer! Have fun and try not to wear yourself out. :)
