*OFFICIAL* July 2010 thread! It Was Hot, It Was Crowded...AND IT WAS AWESOME!!

I didn't see any disers...unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to find your noteboard either!

I didn't see any Dissers either except for one of the Photopass photographers in MK saw my LGMH and we chatted it up. Turns out she's on the DIS, too!

I did get about 8-10 comment on the cards I made for our noteboard. Some were from Dissers. Only bad thing was that someone stole my Sharpie marker!!:headache: Reminds me that even in the happiest place, there is 'crime'.

We also ran into issues at MCO because the people there were grumpy and not friendly. They had a lot of people trying to get through security and only had 2 gates open.

one recommendation would be to add TVs into the stand-by line that plays the TS movies all day long, so that if you are waiting an hour and a half, you have the movie to take your mind off the wait.

Now that is a super duper idea!! I love it and wonder why the imagineers didn't think of that. All the kids and adults would be entertained and less grumblings.

This was our first time not doing MCO (we drove and then took AT back), so I was wondering how the airport was ... sounds like everything else -- busy!:goodvibes

Thanks Wendy! How was your trip? Was it nice returning so soon after your last visit? I imagine it was harder to leave this time. Will you be doing a trip report?

Our trip was great! I am not sure about a trip report yet....I will keep you posted. It was great going back so soon, and much harder to leave. Our APs expired July 15, so no future trip in sight. DD will be a Junior this year, so we are looking at college visits during spring break and next summer......not sure where that leaves Disney :(

Hey all!
Ran into Nettaboo in Toontown this a.m.!
Going home tomorrow :headache:

More later...

Tony's Town Square was the resturant we didnt enjoy. Dont get me wrong, the food was great but the service was super slow. There was a table in the corner who came after us but got served before us....I understand my sister has dairy allergies and that can increase the wait times but this was the ONLY place I saw any diffrence in our wait time.

So DH put the kabosh on going to WDW alone in Aug (after I put money down to hold the room ><) but he said we can go in 2 years (After he get's home from this next deployment and hopefully move out of NY to some place closer to Disney...TX would be a short jaunt I think). Only this time I will be planning for My family (5) My little sister (1) and my older sister and her sons (3) Which means I get to make 3 seperate reservations and request rooms next to eachother. I have Disney Post Partum Blues! I wanted to go back soooo badly! Oh well now I have my 2012 trip to look forward to which gives me lots of time to nab things for my nephews (who have NEVER been to Disney!) like trading pins and lanyards!

I have to say I've heard not so great things about Tony's as well but my friend ate there during their trip and they loved it! To each his own I guess!

We are also (hopefully) planning another trip in 2012 just the two of us. I want to go back so badly but I really need a trip with just me and boyfriend, no more family trips

24 hours until we leave for the airport...YAH!!!!:jumping1::jumping1::woohoo::woohoo:

Yay! so exciting! Enjoy!

Tony's Town Square was the resturant we didnt enjoy. Dont get me wrong, the food was great but the service was super slow.

We ate at Tony's...decided to cancel Hollywood Brown Derby which was an earlier ressie because possibility of rain. The only reason I wanted to eat at HS was to see the late Fantasmic. Our ressie was at 8:50. I asked when I checked in if it was possible to sit outside. Since there was a big party out there, it wasn't an option, but she said she could probably give us a window seat. We sat at the window and watched the MSEP! I thought my Chix parm was good and DH thought his steak wasn't bad--nothing to rave about. Honestly, the window and MSEP were so wonderful, I will think fondly of the meal. haha

Leaving for the airport in about an hour. I could only sleep about 4 hours....just too excited!! party:party:

For those that are getting ready to go, this is the time for stress (did I forget something, do i need this, etc.).

For those that are leaving, have a great time and say hi to the Mouse for me.

For those returning (like me), I hope it was fun.

Nikki, I am going to plan to do a Travel Report. I just haven't started it yet. But once I have the link, I will post it here for you.

Just back from our week long trip that ended yesterday!! We had the best vacation ever. This was our first summer trip, and we were very nervous about the heat, rain, lines and tour groups. We NEVER waited more than 15 min for any attraction (Peter Pan because it looked like the line was short). We always used fastpasses, went to EMH a.m. parks everyday except for this past Saturday (headed to Magic Kingdom instead, and the park was EMPTY for the first 2 hours). We had no lunch or dinner ADR's, and istead just had counter service or ate at our resort. Never waited for a table, or had any lines to order food. The only rain we got was on Sunday afternoon and this past Friday afternoon. Loved the resort location, busses were a bit slow to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, and VERY slow to downtown Disney, but it would not change our minds about staying there again.

Thanks to someone mentioning the Tom Sawyer paint brushes, my DD found one on Tuesday and we each found one on Thursday (and gave one to another family). We were given fastpasses to Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain for finding it. She was so excited to find them.

Toy Story Mania was so much fun!!! I'm so glad we were able to get fastpasses for it on Wednesday and on Friday!! But they go real fast, so be sure and head there early enough to get some, otherwise you will be waiting 90 min to ride it.

Thanks to everyone on this thread for the great advice and tips, we are already talking about our next trip.

Sounds fantastic!! I'm so glad you were able to work the summer crowds! There is definitely a system you have to follow that, maybe people that are used to going in the off-season aren't used to. We are the same way...never wait more than 20 mins, FP everything! I'm so glad you had such a great time! It was really nice reading your little mini-review!

Started my TR! I have almost a 1,000 pictures to select from for the report...but I didn't take very good notes. :lmao:

For those of you leaving soon...have a blast!

Do you want me to link your TR in the first post? If yes, just remind me what your dates were...

You're the complete opposite of me ;) I took INCREDIBLE notes, but I don't have many pictures, and I have no pictures of myself. I don't think I'll do a TR because people don't like to read ones without pictures. I also had an 'issue' 3 years ago when I did my wedding TR and haven't done another one since then.

Glad to hear there is someone else like me! I took really good notes this time, but not so many pictures. I hesitate to do a TR for the same reason!

Yes, Nikki, please add me. Our dates were 7/12 - 7/21. I have to get caught up on your TR!

I am sooo intrigued by your "issue." Are you willing to share?

**see below :)

I have a Canon SLR that I was excited to use, but the ease of the point and shoot allowed for shots that I wouldn't have taken. (like at the pool where the security of my p&s didn't cause me problems.)

**Both of you could do a different type of trip report...maybe reviews of different restaurants/ attractions/ shows. I think there is a readership out there of people trying to learn who aren't always interested in someone else's "trip." I enjoy reading about others' experiences and opinions. :goodvibes

Maybe we can semi plan our trips out at the same time :D It would be awesome to have someone to share my excitement with!

We actually did the 50-60 min wait for Toy Story Mania and loved being able to take loads of pictures of the inside. I was disappointed that all the FP's were gone but over all it was a fun ride! Congrats on finding the paint brushes btw! Glad you had a great time!

Let's just say that ANYONE can join here and not everyone is here because they love Disney.

As for the TR. I was thinking about doing something like that. On the way home, to pass the time, we wrote a bunch of things like our favorite ride, favorite food, favorite snack, favorite day of the trip, favorite surprise, etc... It was fun!
