Only 49 days for us!

I am trying to decide on a park bag. I have a VB small backpack (yellow bird) that overall worked well in the past. I took it to the zoo with us yesterday and had one new problem and the same problems as the last time I took it to Disney - I couldn't remember which pocket I put what and it got wet. Ugh...memories of Faye yesterday.

I figure I can work around the old problems again (decide logical places for each item then stay consistent and have no rain in Florida in July while we are there. jk.)

The new problem is I have an SLR. To get it out of the bag, I have to move everything around. (I have drinks and snacks for the girls in the bag.)

I need a backpack that is divided in half vertically. I really should patent this idea!
This way I could have camera on one side and snacks, etc on the other side. Does anyone know of one like this? The front pouch isn't deep enough of backpacks for the camera or big enough for snacks. Anyone know of a bag like this?

Otherwise, the solution is that I will carry my VB and DH will also carry a backpack. (We have a plain black nike drawstring bag that has an expandable zipper around it.) DH can carry the water bottles and snacks. I will carry the camera and other little items (ponchos, sunscreen, APs, room keys, etc.) Once it is empty, I can fold it and put it in my bag.

I always have a dilemma with bags. I have gotten to the point where I expect my kids to take care of their own stuff and that helps a LOT. They have to deal with their wallets, poncho, and autograph books. I do keep the tickets. They usually do the small back sacks for their stuff. I clip a carbiner to my bag in case I have to hold the back sacks while they are riding something. I once lost DDs purse because I was carrying too much, so that is my new solution.

I switched from a Healthy Back Ameribag to a bagallini that is very small. Too many pockets too - but I deal with it. It is waterproof. The only problem is that it does have a magnetic clasp and that demagnatized DS's AP. I think I may just put the park passes in plastic case, hopefully that will protect them. The only other issue is my poncho - still working on that one. Sometimes, DH can fit both of our ponchos in his pockets.

I'd love to know more about this. I'm making a video for my students for the last day of school and I'm going to burn it onto DVDs for each of them. I want to use Go the Distance, When You Wish Upon a Star, and then I don't know which other one. Something appropriate for first grade that has to do with succeeding and achieving your dreams.

Great idea and a fun way to help pass the time before our trips!!!

We're getting ready to call and pay off our rooms (split stay) tomorrow!

I bought fabric to make a dress for my DD for the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show

REALLY need to get back to working out so I'll fit into my shorts et al.

Made my and my DD's pedicure appointment for the day before we fly out.

Definitely show us a pic of the dress! I love to see all the crafty things!

Oh, now a pedicure sounds like a wonderful idea -- I hadn't even thought of that. I will schedule one now!

@ Marshay- well I have 47 days to go and I have already put 99% of our clothes in our suitcase (just me and my dd12) Ummmm... I went and bought some glowsticks at the discount store to pass out during the parades(spread some pixie dust), just been gathering all the little things like goggles,beachball,water cam,travel size motrin and other first aid items like that and just piling them up. I still need to print out all my paperwork though. I'm sooo ready to go...... come on July 8th, hurry up and get here,lol.

I KNEW someone else would have their bags packed already -- I told DH that I'm starting to put clothes away now (about 50 days) and he was like, what if we need to wear those clothes next month? So I was thinking, well, maybe I am too early...

OOh, great idea about getting extra glow sticks to hand out. My 4yo will love to do that!

I am an elementary school teacher in NC- getting ready to bring my 9th group to WDW June 27th-July 3rd. We participate in the YES program and I had a call on Friday about rescheduling our program. Due to their projections of capacity crowds they said MK will probably open at 8:00 am each morning that week. They plan on posting it on their site around June 1st.

The last I looked at park schedules for July was about a month ago ... does anyone know if things have changed like EMH or park hours or changing parades/fireworks times, Fantasmic, etc?

Sounds like I'll need to go back and review park hours in early June.

As for bags, I have two Baggalinis that I used at Disney i the past. But now we're back to having diapers, snacks, etc. We're going to Knoebels this weekend (small amusement park in PA) so I'll test that there to see how it holds up.

But we have the benefit of a stroller and we certainly take advantage of that! I swear we may still bring a stroller even after the kids don't usse it anymore.

40 days for me!!

I can't believe it! It seems like it was just last week that I woke up on a Saturday morning and realized that we have to book our trip NOW because our 180 day was 2 days ago!!

As soon as DH woke up and I told him, he was like BOOK IT! It did not take us long to pick our dates and resort and before the end of the night, I had most of our ADRs made! Gotta love the online reservation system! (And shout out to Debbie from Magical Journeys who books my trips FAST!)

Now we're just 5 1/2 weeks away! It will be here before we know it!

We are so excited here! 30 mins until the recap!

Damon and Carlton (the creators/writers) did a live interview at the New York Times building on Thursday which they broadcast to a few theaters across the US (and Canada, too, I think!) so we went to that. It was great! There were a few very minor spoilers, nothing that would ruin it for us or anything and they even showed a clip from the finale! Also didn't contain any big spoilers but it was cool to see in advance. They took questions from the audience too and there was a lot they couldn't answer which makes me think that a LOT will get resolved tonight. I hope we're satisfied at the end! It's so exciting and sad at the same time. I've been watching from the beginning!

Anyone else going to be watching tonight? I'm afraid to go on the LOST thread in case someone posts a spoiler! I was so mad when that jerk posted the final 3 of Survivor like 2 months ago under the heading "Jeff Probst" to leave Survivor. Tricky jerk!

I'm at 45 days now and I'm going crazy with this waiting game. The waiting at times feels like you have soo much time but then it's like Nikki said you wake up and it's like whoah 45,46 days left in that way it does kind of sneak up on you IMO

@ Marshay- well you know what they say "Birds of a feather" My hubby too was like " are you seriously packing?" and I was like "don't be jealous" lol jk. I couldnt help myself. I have regular summer clothes like from last year but still found myself buying for "disney" so those are the things I have packed for me and dd. Oh and the glow stick idea of course was a disboard tip. My 12yo is looking foward to giving them away.

Anybody else kinda packed yet??

Working on the packing - I just bought 3 cute tanks from Kohls because they were on sale and I've put them in the suitcase so I won't be tempted to wear them until the trip! We're really trying to just use carryons this trip - don't ask me HOW, we'll be there 12 days. I'm skeptical, but DH thinks we can. At any rate, I'm pulling out all of my lightest, thinnest stuff and delegating it all to the Disney pile.

Well it hit 95 here today!!! DH and I were out in it walking around parking lots and we both just laughed as we dripped with sweat, wondering if being at WDW in 95 degree weather will make it seem more pleasant!!!!

I think I just decided that I will be wearing running shorts, and tanks!!

Still excited about being in Disney during the summer with the much longer days, but I may need a vacation AFTER our vacation just to recover.
