does DTD have fireworks too? or can you see some from there? I am soo excited and my husband and kids are sick of hearing me talk about our plans as I make them I love Dis boards You all soo get me lol.:rotfl2:

I am fairly certain that DTD has fireworks. Last time we were at Epcot for the 4th (July 2008) we saw fireworks in the distance and were told they were DTDs. I think at some point Disney will publish all the July 4th events and the info will be available here on the Disboards or all ears.....

I know what you mean about DH being sick of the plans.......lol, this is a great place to get it out of your system without driving your family nuts!!

were going july 17th-23rd staying at boardwalk. 2nd trip w/ family ,kids 10,9. last time was nov -07 at AK. great hotel but weather was to chilly for us .

So glad you joined our thread! Have you many any dining reservations yet? If you would like to post them, I could add them to the master list on the top of page 7. It's fun to see if we're going to cross paths with anyone!

Welcome to the DIS! You definitely won't be chilly in July!:rotfl:

Hey guys! How's everyone tonight? Not too much activity on this thread today....

Anyone make any new ADRs?

DH got his vacation approved so I was about to book our flights tonight until I realised that I still hadn't changed my OnePass info on Continental to my new name. When we went in Oct. I had to bring my marriage cert...they never asked for it, as I had my old and new license. They really seemed to care less but I'd rather just have it right and now worry about it. The prices already went up $20 since the last time I looked so hopefully they won't go up anymore before they change my name!!

Do it!! You gotta do it! You'll love it! And if you book it, make sure you don't book any tours after 9 because it's 2 hours and World Showcase opens to the public at 11:00. Originally I booked the 9:30 tour but then I realized that we'd be riding around WS with other people for the last 1/2 hour if we did that so I switched it to 9.

Some pics of our tour!

That looks like fun. May have to talk dad into doing one of these!

We are heading to WDW arriving July 13th and leaving July 25th. This is the third visit for our family (me, DH, DS17, DS12). We are staying at Fort Wilderness for the first time...hauling our fifth wheel all the way from the Canadian prairies. Can't wait!

:welcome: It will NOT be chilly in July!! I never even take a jacket in the summer. We were there in Nov 07 too and froze one night. It is nice to remember that trip when you are sweltering in July!!

I agree - looks way fun - does anyone know the minimum age? I thought it was 16 which means we have to wait for DS to catch up......he will only be 13.

I'll be at the Fort at the end of your visit - the 21st to the 25th!
We are staying in a cabin. One of these days, I would LOVE to have an RV. Perhaps when DD is out of daycare and in public school ($$$) we can afford to get one.
My parents have a fifth-wheel and I wish they would come down while we are there.

It's my first visit to FW as well - I hear it's great!

:woohoo:

We started out tenting and worked our way up to the fifth....you'll get there eventually. I do enjoy having my own space and being able to cook my own meals...even on vacation! DH and DS12 took archery lessons last year at the Fort. They were impressed with the amenities.

I have a whole list of things to do such as watching Wishes from the beach and a bunch of stuff we missed in our previous visits.

I am certainly expecting the weather to be hot and humid but like many others DH is a teacher and we are restricted for our vacation time. We really can't complain as we are taking five weeks in total including time in New Orleans, WDW, the Keys, Miami and Memphis.

Now...if I can only get brave enough to follow the instructions to make those wonderful tie-dye Mickey shirts!!!!

That sounds like an awesome trip!! Where can you do archery at Ft. Wilderness? This is something DS might really enjoy! We always try to do something new and different each trip and I am always looking for new ideas.

Archery lessons on compound bows are offered at the Bike Barn in Fort Wilderness. The cost is around 25.00 plus tax. I found this number to call and book the lessons....407/939-7529. Both my husband and son really enjoyed the lesson.

Thank you so much! DS did Archery several years ago at Cub Scout camp and loved it, but has never had the opportunity since. I will check into it!

So excited:dance3: dbf told me today that since we already had a vacation planned, they aren't making him go in July for training!

Nikki, do you recommend the segway tour? is it worth the money>? is it really hard to drive those things? lol I was trying to talk DBF into trying it but he is convinced that I won't be able to do it. :lmao: ( I want to prove him wrong!) I just love the idea of being able to explore WS without the crowds and I would love to learn more about it. BTW i love your pictures!

Yeah -- I 'm so glad you get to go!!

My DH, my dad and I did the Wildnerness Segway tour and that was wonderful! Those segways have larger wheels and you travel over "rougher" surfaces, like gravel, wood chips, sand and regular paved roads. You start in Ft. Wilderness, explore around the campsites, go to the stables and take a quick break exploring there, then you head on over to Wilderness Lodge and back again.

Starting lineup (notice the big wheels):

Don't we look like geeks!!:lmao:

Can you balance on your Segway, show some love and not have it move all at the same time?:rotfl2:

Now...if I can only get brave enough to follow the instructions to make those wonderful tie-dye Mickey shirts!!!!

We've done this twice now and it really and truly is easy to do -- it just takes time. Gather all your materials first and then have fun dying. We prefer the "crystal" method (looks like water or crystal) instead of the traditional tie-dye.

Here are the two different shirts we did. This is my first attempt ever at tie-dye:

And then we tried it again the following year.

Marshay - Your shirts look great! I did try and convince PixieDust32 to adopt me (on the Tie Dye shirt thread) but that would be way too complicated.....I will just have to try and make my own shirts instead. We're headed to Disneyland in April so I also have a bit of a deadline.

Hey Everybody! Just wanted to join in the fun here because were going to WDW in JULY!!!!!!!
