OFFICIAL JULY 2009 THREAD!!! The wait is on!!!

We leave in less than 2 days and I have thrown my hip out.

I have been having problems with bursitis in my left hip for a few years. For the past 6 months or so it has been feeling great and not bothering me at all.

It has been acting up a little for the past few days. I think from the swimming and water aerobics I have been doing to get in shape for the trip. Walking down some stairs today, I took a step and my left leg almost collapsed and I had a shooting pain. Now it feels like it will collapse after about every 4 or 5 steps.

The worst thing is, my chiropractor is on vacation, and the lady that answers the phone informed me that "No, he does not have anyone on call covering for him, you will have to come in on Monday." Monday?? I will be at WDW on Monday! I checked with my regular doctor and he wants me to come in the morning and take some x-rays.

Hopefully he will be able to do something for me, besides tell me to "rest and take it easy for the next 10 days."

Anybody know how much it costs to rent one of those electric wheelchairs??

Good thing we do not have too much stuff planned, and my sister has no problem if we don't even make it into the parks every day!

The best thing to do is Google "medical supply" companies in the Orlando area. Weekly rentals on the motorized scooters are much less expensive than renting in the parks. Plus, the supply places deliver to your resort before your arrive and then pick it up after you depart at the end of your stay. I always rented a motorized scooter (ECV) for my younger DDs boyfriend when he went to Disneyland with us; it was always at our hotel when we arrived and we made sure to charge it overnight. We also took the charging cord with us and he would charge it when we were having dinner. The CMs are really good about the scooters - DDs BF was able to drive it into all ride loading areas and once he transferred onto the ride, the CMs would drive the scooter over to the exiting area for him. I hope you feel better. I have had major ankle surgery so I kinda know how you feel. I am hoping for no flare ups after we are there!

Only time will tell. I do know that at a point they do stop people from coming in but it is hard to tell what will be like this 4th. All ya can do is show up and see if the park is full.

It is so exciting to see folks heading on their trips. I know we will be going soon. Lois

I tried to get on about an hour ago, and got a google message that "the link appears broken" tried a few more times different ways. I'VE BEEN ON DISBOARDS SO LONG I BROKE IT! Talk about panic mode





I just really got going this week. Do you want me to email you a copy of my packing list? Also, check out my PTR for my to do list, maybe that will help you think of something you need to do. Warning, I'm pretty OCD about this stuff!

I have not experienced the panic of a broken Disboard yet...i don't know what I would do!

A copy of the packing list would be great!! I'd really appreciate that. I'm pretty OCD about it too, which is why I am now going crazy. I did find shoes yesterday and renew my prescriptions/get toiletries and pay bills. So that is a few things down.

Today we're going to the circus and a picnic with a bunch of friends, so I'll probably lose today, too.

Because I am booked woth Disney I still CANNOT complete the on-line check-in. I called and get a we know it does not work well. When it goes down it is down for days. Don't worry it really will only save you about one miniute when you check it. That is crap! I do not believe he was trying to sell me that crap and do not believe that Disney put it up when it still had this many issues.

I know anytime you do something new there are issues. In fact anything with computer or on-line it takes a while to work it out. But to not work for days at a time when you can't access it until 10 days out is wrong. I am also sure it will save more than just a miniute when I check in. Oh well. Gotta go to Work. Only two more days to work. Lois

I just get a "On line check-in is not available. Please try back later! As far as what you can request in on-line checkin I have no clue. I will keep trying but I think the CM attitude that it isn't a big deal was not was Disney would expect of them.

If you need copnnecting rooms I would call now!! They do not have as many as are needed. Just to be sure.

Does anyone know if you can get towels from your resort for the water parks? I'm trying to decide if I need to take them. They take up so much room in the suitcase and we're flying.
