OFFICIAL JULY 2009 THREAD!!! The wait is on!!!

When I had it done I got a six inch incision from right below the breast bone to right above my belly button. Took a good six weeks to recover and I had two small kids at home. It hurt to set up from resting in bed. Would not want to do it again. but i have seen it done from two 1 inch incision in the belly. Much faster recovery time if they do it that way.

Remember to get plenty of rest as that will help you get your strenght back. It will be time that can be put to good use planning your WDW Vacation. Lois

I will definetly be on the DIS a lot. I just ordered a laptop from HP. Been planning to get one for a while. And the thought of 4 weeks in bed kinda helped me get a head start on that. So I am waiting on it to get here so I can set up my wireless on it and talk to you guys!

PopArtGirl: Wishing you a Speedy Recovery too!! Wireless laptops are great; just make sure you have a surge protector close by to plug it in quickly when the battery runs low!

Unfornatly we are not going to go to The Wave. While the food appeals to me... it doesn't to my parents

Not at all! Slept right through my regular morning work-out! I woke up and wondered where my husband was as he made it to the gym and I never heard him!

We all need to live where my Dad does (southern Arizona) they do not change their time. I have never understood how it was supposed to save us anything. But since everyone in my community jumped forward I did too !!

I will definetly keep you posted. I'll have 4 weeks to DIS since my surgeon is telling me to take these 4 weeks off since I'm a hyper person and a teacher.

My mom had the surgery when she was my age (different though since they cut you open these days probably the one you had) and my friend had it last year and told me she definetly needed at least 3 weeks.

When I had it I ended up with about 5 "poke" holes. I had it on a thursday, fri/sat/sun were pretty much a blur but monday was ok and tuesday was more ok, and I was driving the kids around again. 4 weeks later would definitely be no problem doing disney.

Ooh enjoy your time!!!!! Do you get to go to the airport? Make sure you get a family pass so you can go directly to the gate to meet him. (if you don't already know about it - you just go to the ticketing counter, tell that you're waiting for a military member, and they give you a special pass to get past security without a ticket- you don't even have to wait in line at the ticketing counter - they send you to the quickest line.
