We swore we would never go in the summer, but my SIL has a timeshare and they need to go then for a basketball tournament. I'm thinking we know the lay of the land pretty well and the plan is to get there early, do our favorites and then get out and back to the pool. How bad is it late at night?

We did exactly that when we were there July 4th week. Go in the mornings, take a break and come back in the evenings. It can be busy at night, but we have stayed as late as 2:00am at MK and except for Space Mountain, there wasn't much of a line for anything. But SM will be closed won't it.:sad2:

You can count us in too. We will be at CBR in a pirate room from July 11-18!! This is a surprise trip for my boys. Last yr was their first ever DW trip and we told them it would be a few years before we would go again. Then the 4/3 deal was extended!!! They think we are going to FL to the beach. We aren't telling them a thing!! They won't know until we pass under the wonderful DW sign!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Now, I just have to keep my big mouth shut!! And that's the real challenge!::yes::

We are there from July 15th till July 22nd - in a Pirate room, maybe we will see you at Trinidad South - I will have my lime green mickey!

/
went to AAA today, to buy the first of our 5 park tickets :cool1: had to share...that much closer, that much more real :)

Boy I go away for a few days and you all talk up a storm. I noted a number of newcomers and wanted to welcome you to the thread. I will assure everyone gets on our list on post 39 page 3 as soon as I get back and have easy access to my computer.

One last reminder: ONE DAY CLOSER and STILL COUNTING!!!!! Lois

We're staying in a pirate room at CBR too, and our dates overlap! Cool! :thumbsup2

We looked at menus again yesterday. I think we're gonna splurge on the Deluxe Dining Plan.

We're looking at the following:

Epcot (day we arrive plus 2 days):
Biergarten-Dinner
Coral Reef-Lunch
Chefs de France-Dinner
Wolfgang Puck (@Downtown Disney)-Lunch
Le Cellier-Dinner

Magic Kingdom (2 days)
Chef Mickeys (@Contemporary)-Breakfast
Ohana (@Polynesian)-Dinner
Crystal Palace-Lunch
California Grill (@Contemporary)-Dinner

Animal Kingdom (1 day)
Donalds Breakfast @ Tusker House-Breakfast
Hoop De Doo Revue (@ Fort Wilderness)-Dinner

Hollywood Studios (1 day)
Hollywood & Vine-Breakfast
Sci-Fi Drive-In-Lunch
Mama Merose's-Dinner (Fantasmic)

Any thoughts?

Also, I'm wondering if we even need the hopper passes. With 6 full days, we can spend a full day at each park. hmmmm. That would save us $150 ($50 per person), right?

Oh, I almost forgot.....ONE DAY CLOSER!!!!!

Good food choices! We still have to finalize our dining!

We don't get park hoppers to save the money! Plus we have two little ones and I think it's easier to stay where you are for now anyway!

Last time we decided that we would add the hoppers when we got there if we needed them. We did fine without them. We did have to brave some crowds because we went to a morning EMH and then couldn't leave and AK started getting crowded towards the end of the day on it's EMH day, but it was managable. I think we are going to do the same thing this time, because I don't know what to expect since we have never been in the summer. I'm very nervous thinking about the crowds and heat.

I have never gone without hoppers! We're just two adults, though, so it's easy for us to hop around and we usually like to end each day in World Showcase.

We just booked our trip last night --- 8 nights July 6-14 at the Wilderness Lodge. This will be our first family trip to Disney World. I have been dozens of times with my mom and sister, but this will my first time since I've been married and going with DH. Also, this will be my stepdaughter's first ever trip, so I am planning on making this very memorable. I can't wait!!

Welcome to the DIS and our thread. Once I return from out of state I will update our list. It is located on page 3 post 39. Check it out and see who else will be there at the same time. Look for you to included on the list sometime the first week in March.

YES, Tom We are ONE DAY CLOSER!!!! Thanks for keeping us posted. I am so excited I cannot contain myself. ONE DAY CLOSER AND STILL COUNTING!! Lois

Hi Everyone! Please add us to the list...We'll be at WDW from 7/19-25 for our Disneymoon...:yay:

It's our first time to WDW and I'm a little nervous...I'm sure this will be the last time we're at WDW by ourselves (the next time will probably be with kids) so I want everything to go well.

Can you experts take a look at what we have planned so far? I based my days off of TGM's July 2008 info...I'm hoping things stay the same.

Some background info:
At home, we're normally not early risers, but we'll make the effort when we're there. We have 6 full days planned for WDW (19th-24th). We'll be staying at SOG from the 17th so our first disney day is a full day...no worries about checking in and storing bags and all that fun stuff. We're transferring hotels (to CR) on Thursday, the 23rd and we leave Saturday morning. I'm hoping our bodies get adjusted to the 6 hour time difference fairly quickly :scared:
We're not big breakfast eaters (will probably just keep fruit or something in the room to eat before we head out), but we love food. We're staying away from Japanese/Chinese and anything at the Poly...we eat that type of food all the time at home so we want to try something different. We're not on the dining plan. I read someplace that it's not good to plan things around dinner, but I like to know when we'll be eating and that we'll get to eat at the places we're interested in.

Ok - here it goes:
Sunday - Animal Kingdom, DTD at night - dinner @ Raglan Road.
Monday - EPCOT all day (with a break in between) - dinner @ Chefs de France
Tuesday - HS all day (with a break) - Fantasmic dinner package @ Mama Melrose
Wednesday - MK all day (with a break) - breakfast @ Crystal Palace, dinner @ Plaza Restaurant
Thursday - change hotels in AM, mini golf in afternoon or DTD in afternoon, dinner @ Le Cellier, EPCOT for EMH.
Friday - MK, EPCOT or HS in the day, dinner @ Narcoosee's, watch Wishes from room, MK for EMH.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance for your sage advice :worship:
