Are you going to try Spoodles still, or are you going to get a different ressie? I can't decide what to do-I was so looking forward to Spoodles.

to the Spoodles goers: It was only recently announced that the restaurant was going to close. However, back in October we ate there. It was still good, but I thought that the menu seemed like it had fewer entrees and a few less appetizers than I'd remembered in the past. The dessert menu had flan though, which I love there. I'm going to pass on it this time though. I don't think it will ever be the same. IMHO. We're going with fewer ADR's than ever and we'll try to eat as many meals in our villa. We're planning on visiting a couple table service ressies that don't require ADR's such as Beaches & Cream and Rainforest. Its time to try new places anyways.

Apparently there will be a surcharge on meals during the so busy time between 5/24 and July 11th. We arrive on the 12th, so luckily we'll just miss it which is good because it effects many of the ressies where we have ADR's, such as Boma and Cape May. All those extra charges add up!

It is not in our hands but in the hands of my higher power whom I choose to call God. We are well and I will keep you updated as we have new information. my countdown is now 52 days! it'll be 7 weeks on thursday.. wow!! i started counting at 184 days when we booked, so it seems incredible how close it's getting now!

Yesterday I read about Spoodles changing to a dinner buffet, I have an ADR on July 19th...
What are others thinking of doing due to the change?
I looked around on the WDW Info dining section for another meal idea.. i thought maybe Il Mulino at the Swan instead altho never eaten there... but then, I'm sure the buffet would still be nice at Spoodles? I might not even get a reservation at Il Mulino, plus it might be good to have one last meal at Spoodles before it becomes Kouzzina! .. decisions, decisions!

54 days for me!! I have no ADR's for the 19th. Maybe if you're still hitting Spoodles, we might meet you there. My MIL & niece have the take a plane back to Texas early that morning, so it'll be the 5 of us. In fact, we're checking out that day, but we'll still be at the parks all day. I hadn't thought about it, but since we will check out, we will NEED to eat our meals out. We could go QS or not. I want to see Spoodles buffet menu. See if there are things there that all 5 family members will eat. The kids pizza will please my youngest at least. I wonder if they still have the flan for dessert. May need to say farewell to the flan. Later on the 19th at night, we'll leave the parks and head to Melbourne to visit a college for DS17. I always wanted to try Maya Grill, but it is a little pricey. I know.. decisions- decisions. I've never eaten at any ressie at the Swan or Dolphin. hmmmm what do you think?

I had tried to book an ADR at Spoodles for our trip but wasn't able to...now that they're changing to a buffet, I'm not so sad about it anymore. I really wanted to try them, but would prefer not to do it as a buffet.

I can't believe our trip is coming up so soon -- July 18 will be our first day in the parks and I can't wait!!!

Hey, that is a good question. I bet if you already paid for your DDP, it won't. I don't think they can raise the prices AFTER you've paid, but it might effect those who haven't contracted for a particular price yet. It will effect any meals you eat off of your DDP. You need to eat 3 meals a day, so you likely will need to add another meal. You'll be ok if that 3rd meal per day is QS. Its only the table service restaurants that are effected. Personally, 1 QS and 1 TS meal plus a snack was enough for one day for my family. The TS meals with dessert was really too much for us. I'd call 1-407-WDW-DINE and ask. We're paying for all our meals without DDP, so I'm glad we're going to just miss the surcharge.
