Oh my -- one month from today we'll be arriving at WDW....and I'm nowhere near ready! So much to get done!

One month!!!

Oh, my....I just realized....

ONE MONTH....until my wife and son leave for WDW (by way of Buffalo, NY & Harrisburg, PA). :cool1:

I'll be a bachelor for 9 days (party at my house) until I fly to WDW to meet them. I get there 2 hours before they do...that's gonna be a long 2 hours. :confused3

We have exactly 1 month until we leave for WDW. I hope CBR is ready for us, because we are definately ready for it!!!!:cool1:

I noticed that your children are very similar in age as mine. I have a DD 10, DS 7 & DS 1. I was just wondering what your plans are. What I actually mean is, how are you scheduling your activities around your 1 year old?? We are thinking about hitting the parks early, eating lunch ADRs, after lunch head back to POP for nap/swim and then go back to the park(s) and/or dinner ADR. What are you guys thinking? We are also wondering how difficult it is going to be lugging the stroller around on the WDW bus. Just wanting to get some more input... Please share if you don't mind. :goodvibes

What time are you arriving at CBR? We're checking in on the 17th, too...but probably around 8-9 p.m.

We are DRIVING:scared1:from missouri. Sooo, we will be leaving on the 17th, sleeping somewhere in Georgia that night and get into Disney around 1:00 or so on the 18th. With 3 kids we just couldn't do the 17 hours in one swoop! We tried before, it doesn't work;)

Yippee!! That's our first night there!! I love the launches! Used to live down there and they are sooo cool, especially the ones after dark. My youngest kids have never seen a launch. I hope all goes smooth and we can watch from CBR!!

We are driving down from NC. I'm about half tempted to leave a little later than I planned and take 95 down to stop and watch the launch a little closer....hmmm

Oh... so close.. we'll be driving down 95 all that day. Any idea of the time? I haven't actually seen the launch before. My husband worked at Mission Control back when the shuttle program was new. He has a big collection of mission patches and pins as well as a framed photo of the launch signed by his co-workers at NASA JSC. Oh.. I do hope we can catch it. Can you see it from South Georgia? We'll be there by evening.

I GOT IT!! I GOT IT!!

Thank you new online ADRs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After trying for 51 days i can finally say:

8/2 Chef Mickey's 7:25am

Now I must dance. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Suddenly, I feel like trying the new booking system to book Chef Mickey's JUST so I can go before you!! :rotfl2:

I am a Park Stroller veteran. I've rented Disney strollers and I've brought my own. There are advantages to both, but if your child is 1, I'd opt to bring my own. I find it fairly easy to fold up my stroller and pop on the bus. Just don't even think about trying to get on the MK parking lot tram with a larger format stroller. You can do it with an umbrella stroller, but not bigger. I have a very small DD who will turn 7 days before our trip. I'm putting her in the small format stroller I bought a the World Showcase Gateway Giftshop near France. Its great! She weighs 34 pounds. She'll likely want to walk a lot more than in the past (this is her 6th trip), but when you need to move through the crowd fast, you either need the stroller or to put the child on an adults shoulders. At the end of the day, you need that stroller. But the buses with strollers are easy. The ones that aren't are the strollers that have the infant seat attached to it. Those are more unwieldy on the buses. The advantage of renting a stroller is that when you leave the park, you can leave it behind and pick up another one at the next park. But then you'd not have it in your resort area. Good luck, but don't worry.. you CAN do it :cheer2::cheer2:

It is scheduled to launch at 7:39pm as of today. That is really cool that your husband worked at mission control! I take it he also has the "what part of *bunch of formulas* don't you understand?" NASA mug. :rotfl:

AAAWWW! That was so kind of NASA to be thinking of you.:)

Wasn't it? Should send them a thank you coconut from the CBR! :rotfl:
Oh and thanks for asking about the multiple quotes, now I also know how to do that! ;)

It's been fun to check out ADRs to confirm on the website! altho i'm not sure i'd like to be booking them from the site yet, I find it quite slow... guess I like talking to a CM too much :rotfl:
I can only see some of mine, having a problem with the phone # as UK phone numbers are +44-xxxxx-xxxxxx !!! which doesn't fit.. so i've had to guess which of these digits the CM put in as our phone number?? lol.
I think i'll still phone soon tho to confirm all 13 ADRs, BBB & the Illuminations Cruise :woohoo:

BTW.... I've always got wake-up calls while at wdw, and it's been Stitch as long as i can remember (bout 2002 was first trip we used it!!) .... has anyone had other characters recently? Mickey, Goofy, etc?? Just wondering!!

Well, our plan is to hit rope drop in the mornings. Go until lunch time and then hit the resort for naps and a swim ( for the older ones). The last time we were there the 6 yr old was 2 and we went commando. He faired pretty well, lots of napping in the stroller. Last time we only had 4 days, this time we are taking 7. Hopefully we won't have to go so fast. We will head back to the parks after or at dinner time and hopefully it will have cooled down a bit. This is what we did in '05.
We rented a stroller last time, but this time we're bringing our own. It's not an umbrella stroller, but it is smaller and folds nicely. From what I understand we will need it for CBR.
Of course if he (DS1) melts down, plans may change. No matter what, I'm just excited to go back!

Thanks Nikki - sorry I did not add the dates. We are at CBR - Pirate Room July 15-22 then the Poly July 22 - 29.

Thank you!!! I added your information.

ok, I've had a flurry of activity for the past few days and now it seems like it's really getting close.

  • i've added some adr's to my schedule.
  • I've booked my airport limo transport(can't use ME at shades of green, we could use it for our initial CSR but it's was just easier to book with a car service both ways, i'm not social so early in the morning, i don't want to be on a bus with other people LOL)
  • Booked my transport from home to the airport.
  • purchased another suitcase LOL
  • Started preparing my garden grocer list
  • Started my list of packing items and needed to buy items

overall, good progress for a procrastinator!
