OFFICIAL JULY 2009 THREAD!!! (Part 2) It's here!!

Hey all - New to this thread - we leave a week from tomorrow morning. I am soo excited!!
Just wondering if anyone else there has any young adults going along with them, My DS (20) is afraid he will be bored and it's driving me crazy. He thinks the whole trip will be just about his little sister (8) and that is soo not true. (It's all about me, ha ha!) We left him home for the last two trips but all we heard after was that we didn't want him with us. That is not true, we always ask him to join us but he didn't want to go. This time we are also bringing my parents so we are making him join us. Grrr, he is a wonderful kid seriously, great values and very smart, He's a junior in college now and I was hoping that he would just enjoy a family trip together before school starts next month. We even invited his girlfriend but she can't join us so now he's thinking he will be bored. I don't want him to ruin our trip but I think it's important that he come with us. I know it would break Grandma and Grandpa's hearts if he doesn't go. Does anyone have any tips for me?? I have already informed him that he doesn't have to hang out with us the whole time and we will give him plenty of free-time but he doesn't seem to care about that.

Well according to the UPS tracking system, my personalized Disney T-shirts have been rescheduled to be delivered on Monday, 7/20/09. Well, we are leaving 7/19/09. So, we won't have our new shirts to wear to Disney!! :sad1: I am so sad! It was personalized with our names. I just can't figure out why it is taking UPS so long. These shirts were ordered 6/29/09!! Is there something going on that I don't know about? I sent an email explaining the situation to them. But, I am sure it won't make a difference...:sad2:

I guess I am just going to have to buy us some more when we get there. These were the T-shirts that we were going to wear together for our photo at CRT breakfast!!! Does anyone know of a particular store that we could get personalized T-shirts made (fast)? This just stinks!!! Any ideas are welcomed!

That's kinda weird.. someone doesn't want to go to WDW? *GASP!*

I guess I would try to have someone there (maybe another friend of his if his GF can't go?) or a family member that will go off and just do things together (maybe trade off who wants to go.. mom and son together one day then someone else another day or whatever). Sometimes it's nice to only have one other person with you, you know? Then everyone could meet up for meals and/or shows so you all still get the family thing with the parents. I can see how maybe he would feel bored having to go at a group's pace.

Good luck with it.. If the above doesn't work.. gosh, I don't know.. I really think he just needs a "buddy" to enjoy the parks more.

Can you call UPS and ask that you PICK IT UP yourself? Sometimes their trucks get in the day before at the distribution center. There's still a small chance you could still get them.

Either make them yourself (lots of great graphics on the Creative DISigns forums) or I think there's a Hanes store in Downtown Disney that does custom shirts.

It is worth a shot! I'll call tomorrow. I'm not sure where the distribution center is around here. But, maybe I can find out. :goodvibes

Awe. I would ask Grandma and Grandpa (secretly) to spend extra time with him, or extra attention. I know older kids sometimes feel all the attention is on the younger ones.

I'm a Disney nut. So even though I'm 26, I've always loved Disney and would never think of being bored there.

Maybe day a mom and dad day? Or just a dad and son day?

Look on the bright side. Buying t-shirts at Disney is fun!

I just finished putting the iron-ons on all of our shirts. 8 days + 1 extra x 3 people = 27 shirts. :laundy:

I am tired.

That's a lot of shirts! But you guys will all look so great!

That's a tough one...is there another friend he can bring? Hopefully once he gets there he'll just get caught up in all of the fun and excitement. I hope so!

Oh no! I'm sorry!

Do we?? It's 3:14am and I'm online lol

Plus I think there was a time difference between you two hehe

3:14 am? Yikes! I was most definitely asleep at 3:14 am! My older DD wanted to go to the midnight showing of HP6 but for various reasons that didn't work out -- she was NOT happy -- but if she had gone, we would have had a VERY late night and probably would have been awake at 3:14 am, too.
