OFFICIAL JULY 2009 THREAD!!! (Part 2) It's here!!

one more bad thing.

Was putting on the magical express tags and we only have 3 and 4 suitcases.

I called and apparently, I just have to give the ticket to the suitcase that does not have the yellow ticket the airline gives you to the DME counter. Let's hope it all works out.

Oh no! I hope it works out!!

I'm doing laundry and just thought of something..........
since the resorts have free towels use at the pool, I wonder if I can get by without taking my own.
Do you take your own towels or use theirs?

Also, a friend of mine told me that you're not supposed to wear tank tops to the table service restaurants. It seems like I wore tank tops last year.......but I could be wrong. I know the signature restaurants have dress codes but what about the others? :confused3

I'm taking our own towels...we like really big beach towels, and since we're going to be going to the water parks anyway we decided to take our towels. Pop Century didn't have towels at the pool when we were there two years ago, and although I think CBR does have towels at the main pool, they don't have them at the quiet pools and who knows where we'll end up. I don't want to use the towels from our room, so I'll just take beach towels with us.

As for not wearing tank tops at table service restaurants -- I've never seen/heard that rule and saw tons of people in tank tops at every TS restaurant we went two on our last trip. I know some signature restaurants have a dress code (like Victoria and Albert's) but haven't heard anything at all like that about the TS restaurants.

Cute!!

Good morning everyone! Well, woke up at 5:00am, couldn't sleep. I don't even have a plane to catch or anything like that. Just have to get the dogs to the kennel, load the truck and make the hour drive to Universal. We move over to POR on Thursday. Hopefully I'll see some Dis'ers. I'll try to post during the week about the crowds etc.

I wish the rest of you a wonderful trip.pixiedust:

Have a great trip! I'm really hoping to see some fellow DISers on our trip!

And thanks so much for the instructions on multi-quoting, Nikki! I think it worked!

Nikki, where are you on the surprise for your future hubby? How will you announce it?

I'm sprinkling the board with an extra large dose of pixie dust, spraying it with Lysol, wiping it down with Clorox wipes, and sending all of the healthy vibes I can! :goodvibes

I started with a sore throat, sniffles, and sneezing yesterday so I'm pushing Vitamin C and Zicam today...and I have chronic stomach problems that are exacerbated by stress, so I've been feeling yucky for a couple of days now and I'm positive it's because I'm stressing so much about this vacation.

But I don't want to be sick at Disney...so I'm willing myself to feel better NOW!!!
:)

I am sending you a lot of pixie dust!

I also have stomach problems. So I'm kind of hoping the probs with my throat is acid reflux!

I have acid reflux as well as a condition called gastroparesis (stomach digests too slowly which causes upset stomach and excess acid). It's definitely exacerbated by stress and lack of sleep...both of which have been in abundance the last couple of weeks. I'm just hoping that once I get to WDW I can relax -- the planning part will be over -- and just enjoy the time we have there. I'm hoping!!! I only had one day on our last trip where I felt really sick but it only lasted for about half of a day. I think I'll be fine if I really watch what I eat very carefully (I'm not supposed to eat anything greasy, fried, or with high fat or sugar content -- which eliminates most of the yummy stuff, and am supposed to stick with foods that are relatively easy/fast to digest and several smaller meals throughout the day instead of really huge meals) and get a reasonable amount of sleep each night -- much easier said than done!

Speedy is too cute!!!

Hello from Disney World,

Ever since we got here, I've had trouble getting DISboards to load. I just finally go the pages to load.

Let's see. We went to the Magic Kingdom the first day. My MIL and DN went with my older kids to Stitch's Great Escape. DH, DD7 and I went to Tomorrowland Speedway because DD7 insisted. It said a 30 min. wait. It was less then 15. However, as it started to rain just before we boarded our car. We decided to do it anyway, but as we got further along the track, it started to down pour like you wouldn't believe. By the time we got off the ride, we were totally drenched. I couldn't have been wetter if I'd jumped in the pool fully dressed. As we were going around the track, as it rained harder and harder, it was difficult to open my eyes. By the time we ran over to Anti-Gravities, it was flooding in Tomorrowland. Pretty soon there was at least 4 inches of water on the ground. Scooters were going through it making a wake. I had on slip on tennis shoes because our villa wasn't ready yet, and we went to the parks not dressed as planned. I had "park" shoes, but they were still packed in the van. Anyway, I had to take them off because they were so sloshed. Its now Tuesday, so maybe they are dry!:scared1:

We now have called housekeeping 5 times for missing items. Never had that happen with DVC before. Still waiting for my 4 spoons and pot holders.

We have our tea at the Grand and DH and DS17 are at Ft. Wilderness on their Segway tour.

We ended up eating dinner Sunday night at TRex. We showed up without reservations. They told us 40-45 min. It was more like 20. The food was very good. Drinks are expensive but very good. The only real problem is the noise level!! OMG it is SOOOOO loud. My MIL wears hearing aids so she had to take them out. It was hard to have a conversation, especially with her. So, I would only go there again if she weren't with us. DN still wants to do Rainforest on Friday for lunch. Hope MIL can bear it. Its noisey too, but not as noisy as TRex. I dont' think I've EVER been in a ressie that loud before. Its cool though. The cool factor is high. The service is also very good.

Oh.. and during our drenching, our camera Kodak 7590:love: became sopping wet. We let it dry. We used it. But now the programming is all messed up. No matter what setting you put it on, it thinks its on another random setting. I have no idea HOW to fix that and if it is worth having it repaired since it is a 5 megapixel. Its several years old, but has a lot of great features and is a very good camera. Sigh! We discovered it completely NOT working when we tried to take pix at our character breakfast. We now only have the pix on MIL's OLD camera and DD21's camera. I guess when we get home, we're buying a new camera. DH forgot to pack his backpack which we usually use in the parks. That would have protected the camera at least somewhat in the downpour.

See... now matter how much stuff I brought (alot) we forgot something important because it wasn't on the list. Why I have no idea!

Oh.. and on the way OUT of MK drenched wet, I swear I passed Emma Ford, but I wasn't able to stop her. They were rushing in and we were running for the bus. I hope I bump into her again.

Well, I have most of the baby's stuff in a pile in his room, ready to be packed. I have to run to my mom's and see if she has an extra suitcase or two for the boys. I don't think that they'll be able to share a case this time.
I also put on a pair of jean shorts I haven't worn for 2 years and actually zipped them up and........I can still breath! I might have a couple other pairs now. I'll have to wear those early in the vacation as we are on the dining plan and they will probably not fit towards the end!:rotfl:

Speedy;
Is so cute. What a good daddy you are!

I'm worried about the weather when we go down...on our trip two years ago, we had a really, really bad thunderstorm one night but that was the only rain the whole time we were there...right now the forecast is showing 40% and 60% chances of thunderstorms...I know afternoon storms are typical in Florida...I'm just hoping we don't get caught in a terrible downpour, and especially not every day or on our water park days!

Enjoy your trip! I love reading "live" updates!
