OFFICIAL JULY 2009 THREAD!!! (Part 2) It's here!!

Well this is it. We are packing up the car in a few minutes and we are leaving around 3am so the kids will sleep at least half way there! Can't believe it's finally here!!!!:yay:
I'll be checking in during our trip to let everyone know how its going. Hope to see some of y'all there!

sigh

i'm home

heavy sad igh.

But it was a glorious 14 days at disney. I'll update tomorrow. One thing in particular - we used TGM's best days and I never waited more than 15 min for any ride. Most less than that. I just couldn't believe it.

Brazil tour groups are out in full force but I noticed MUCH better behavior from the teens this year - only a few kids really causing trouble (trying to line jump and ride twice, etc) Most were just very nicely behaved, enthusiastic and lively, but well behaved.

thank you very much, we are all packed and ready to go....now i just need to get some sleep...and hope that a certain presidental visit doesn't block my road to the airport tomorrow!

Well I am ready. Bags are packed..all I need is to throw in my toothbrush in the morning. I'm planning to get through the rest of the day, wake up at 4:30, brush teeth and leave! i can do make-up at the airport while waiting to board!

Sounds like the summer rains are still thriving. I am winging it and not bringing a poncho. I think I will just get drenched and enjoy it!

Our temps here this week have been lower 60's and finally 70 today. I fear my body will not handle the heat well!

I have my bag, my penny press list, my photo op list, camera, my travel papers, WDW book, ADR #'s, and bikini! Yep, I'm ready!

Don't skip the poncho!! I had the same thought. I thought. I'll just get wet. Its hot, what difference does it make? Well.... I'll tell you. We now have to buy a new camera. We got caught in a sudden terential downpour while on the Tomorrowland Motor Speedway. We got soaking wet drenched. I couldn't have been wetter had I jumped in a swimming pool. I stuck my purse underneath the hollow nose of the car, but the entire contents still got drenched. The camera got drenched too. The most unexpected consequence was that my hair color ran all over my white shirt. I used a semi-permanent color to highlight my hair with red highlights. It doesn't normally run in rain or even when I wash it, but I have no idea what is in that rain (acid?). What a mess. So, always keep a poncho at hand. The rain came upon us very suddenly. One second its sunny, the next a black cloud settles over you and its raining. Oddly, it'll rain in one park, and not in the others. We got stranded at the Grand in a rainstorm, while my husband had sunny weather at EPCOT. How odd is that?

make sure they take those Maid Of The Mist ponchos with them. They'll need them just as much or more.

I still need to pack.

I also need to clean the house before my wife comes home.

Guess which is more important right now. :rotfl2:

Also, somewhere we have some ponchos from the dollar section at Target....wonder where she put them. :confused3

Does my ticker really say 3 DAYS!?!?!?!?!?

Woo hoo!! Just saved some more money on our trip! :cool1:

The lady in the office next to me one a $358 Disney gift card in a drawing at some luncheon she went to. She can't afford to use it right now (it would cover admission to Disneyland, but not much else).

I offered her $260 for it, and she took it.

:rolleyes1

DW & DS made it to Harrisburg, PA and I can tell from my checking account that they went to Hershey, PA. They better bring me some chocolate.

Just got home :sad2: I had an amazing trip! the crowds were not bad at all! we never waited more than 30 minutes for a ride. we tried evening emh's at hs, mk, and epcot. hs and epcot were super crowded with waits up to 2 hours! MK emh was awesome! one night we were there until 2am and could walk on everything!
our favorite meals were le cellier, ohana, and tony's. I was a little disappointed with coral reef, sci- fi and kona cafe due to bad service.
the Polynesian is absolutely beautiful and the cast members there were outstanding. i was in tears today because i did not want to leave. well im off to bed. cant wait to hear about everyone else's trips!

I'm here!!!! We went to Epcot this morning at rope drop and did Soarin', Seas w/Nemo and Friends, Test Track, Mission Space, and Universe of Energy and Soarin again before we left at around 12:30. Crowds were not too bad at all. Weather was also good. Hot, but not unbearable by any means. We are resting after a swim and lunch at our resort, Bonnet Creek which is really nice! In a little while we are going to AK until park closing at 7 then to ESPN for dinner to meet my friend who is a CM at MK. After dinner we'll hit Epcot for Illuminations! Tomorrows plan is DHS in the am w/lunch at Sci-Fi and MK in the pm.

had some sad news on my return home, my family's wonderful dog passed away on Monday, she was 12 years old... a very good age for her breed, nevertheless it was very upsetting & knowing that + post-wdw-blues has made me & DBF very sad this evening :sad2: i had bought her a toy from wdw last week too, which added to my grief! :guilty:

anyways... can't wait to read all the upcoming trip reports :)

I am very sorry for the loss of your beloved pet and family member! Maybe you can save the gift for a new pet when and if you are ever ready to take that step.

We were are Coral Reef and had some of the best service. Must have either hit a bad day or a bad server. I am sorry it was not as you expected. For those who have it booked here is some pixie dust that it is as good or better than Janet and I experenced. Lois

Did DHS this morning and did ToT, RnR, TSM, STours, and Muppets then lunch at Sci Fi. Sci Fi was great-much better than last year.Kids LOVED RnR and ToT!!!! Crowds still quite manageable by using UG Touring Plans best days calendar. We are on a pool and rest break right now. Tonight MK for some rides.
