Official July 08 Code Watch Thread...FINALLY!!

I remember that the July rates for deluxe were mainly YC, BC and BW at like $199/nt. Does anyone remember if the 1 or 2 bedroom villas were available at the discount? Would love to stay at BCV or BWV. Thanks!

My TA says there is a really good chance they will offer something for AP and/or Visa Card Holders. She said that Disney is having some problems booking rooms, the economy I quess. Better for all of us hoping for a discount!
One can hope! I believe last year in July the only discounts were for moderates and Delux resorts not value.

I have a friend who is going in July - she doesn't have an annual pass and they are not card holders - was there a discount for the general public last July??? If so, could someone share with me what it was??? Thanks so much!

If I remember correctly and deluxe AP rates last year were limited to BC,YC, and BWI. They were also offering "home away from home"rates for OKW and SSR. I'm not sure about the mods and values, if there were any AP rates at all, or which resorts were offered.

I know that the BC/YC and BWI AP rates were pretty good. Hope they offer them this year!

Some moderates were discounted, too. I called the morning codes were released and booked POR for the middle of July last summer.

I am really hoping that something comes out for July!!

Does anyone know if they ever have bounceback offers in July?:confused3

Do you already have your room booked and then just call to add the code if/when it comes??

I'm a Disney Visa cardholder, so I'm crossing my fingers for some kind of discount!! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I would book as soon as possible. July is usually the busiest time of year next to Nov-Dec time frame. You can always ask them for the discount when and if it comes out. My TA said she could handle it and we have been booked for 4 months! I am not sure of the process that is why it is so nice to have a TA so I don't have to worry about any of that! Plus they usually have a heads up on what is coming out before we do.:woohoo: Keep an eye out on the Disney cardholder website, but honestly this website is the BEST place to hear it first!

Well, I need a discount for the 4th and 5th. There's probably not a chance in Hades that they'll offer a discount that weekend.

Greetings Everyone:

I've recently had to reconsider my plans on a trip to Disney this year. We were planning on going in August right before Free Dining (unfortunately). Due to some job circumstances, I'm now considering going July 9-21. I'm really concerned about the crowd levels. Is it going to be too crowded to for us to enjoy ourselves? Are the waits for the attractions going to be too long? I'm really freaking myself out, and debating whether we should just do something else this year. Can anyone help me out? Those of you that have gone in July, what do you think?

I go for 2 weeks in July almost every year and I do not think the crowds are that big of an issue. Yes it is crowded, but we went for a week in early December last year as well and I did not think there was that big of a difference in crowds.

We go to a park almost every day. We are there when the park opens, stay until about noon or 1:00, head back to the room for lunch, pool , naps, etc. and then head back out after dinner. You will be amazed at how much you can get done in the morning before the crowds arrive. We always hit every attraction at least once and we ride our favorites like Splash, BTM, ToT, RNRC several times. We never utilize EMH. In fact we go to to the park the day after it had EMH and that works really well for us.

Also, make sure you make smart use of fastpass. I am the fastpass runner for my group. At park opening at Epcot, I will run ahead and get Soarin' FP and then meet my family at Test Track and Mission Space. At AK, I run ahead to get EE FP and then meet them at the Safari. At MK I will run to Splash to get FP and meet them at Pirates. Just have a plan and get the big attractions out of the way early.

Go and have fun and don't worry about the crowds.

We go every year in July, actually the week after you. Maybe we're used to it, but the crowds aren't so bad. We stay away from MK on Saturdays!!! Crazy!!! Soarin and Test Tracks FPs get sold out late in the day, but other then that we never have a problem. Ressies are prompt and service is great!:woohoo:

Good luck with your plans, it is HOT!!! We spend the afternoons at the pool!!!

Hi Dave :goodvibes

We've gone for a week in July for the last few years and we've enjoyed ourselves :thumbsup2

But I can honestly tell you that you can't compare Marathon weekend to a week in July. The heat, humidity, and crowds (Brazillian tour groups :scared1: ) are much much, much, much worse.

But it is definitely doable :goodvibes Plan, plan, plan, plan :thumbsup2

We go to the parks early, by lunch we are swimming up stream (out of the parks) will the rest our just coming in  Then lunch and the afternoon in the pool, shopping in the airconditioning, napping.... Then back to the parks in the later evening for shows and fireworks. Oh and use those fast passes ;)

Best of luck on your decision Dave :wizard:

Ugh. I had forgotten about the Brazillian tour groups :sad2:

Are the Brazilian tour groups there all of July? We will be there from June 26-July 10th - I know a few years ago they were there but it was the middle to end of July.
This is our first trip in July, can anyone explain to me what and or who are the Brazilian tour groups?:confused3

A group of about 30-40 Brazilian teenagers only monitered by one adult. They have a reputation for being rude and loud. We try to avoid them at all costs. You'll recognized them by the matching shirts and loud singing in line. It makes conversations practically impossible. The only upside is that my teenage girls were fascinated and would tell me "Gosh, I would never act like that". They truly are princesses. princess:

We went during the first week in July last year and there were a few groups of them there. But, we didn't feel that the park was inundated with them. Luckily, they usually wear bright yellow and green shirts so that you know to go to another ride if they're about to enter.

Do they come every year? :scared1: Is it like a senior trip for them? We are going to be there for 5 days in the first week before our cruise i sure hope we don't "happen" upon them! Thanks for the info!

If you see a group of brazillian teens, usually all wearing the same brightly colored T's, and Singing VERY Loud, carrying Flags of their tour group...RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION!:lmao:

Though the general advice others have given such as getting to the parks at rope drop and leaving around 1 or so is all very sound advice, if you're worried at all about how to tour WDW during a crowded time, you might consider subscribing to one of the disboard sponsors: Tour Guide Mike. You'll get detailed information to help you avoid crowds. We've used TGM before for very crowded times and had no long lines for rides whatsoever. Though I've heard others say you can learn all the info you'd get at TGM's website from just reading disboards very thoroughly, and that's probably correct from what I've seen, I still find it a convenience to have such detailed info organized in such a way that it's easy to access and work with. And it's really not that much to subscribe especially with the disboards discount.
