***Official January 2025 Thread***

I was thinking about being a cool aunt and buying it for my nieces, but knowing them, they’ll be pooped by noon and want to go back to the hotel and I’ll feel like an idiot spending all that money!
Actually I wonder how many melting down toddlers we’ll see around the parks being dragged around by parents who bought the premier pass and want to get their money’s worth!

We have nailed down our dates - January 2-12. The first time I went to Disney, it was the week after Christmas. New Year’s Eve at Magic Kingdom was so much fun. Of course, I was much much younger then!

At this point, we’ll split-stay between Pop! and POFQ. But I have CSR reserved until I hear about the Skyliner and the refurbishments at POFQ.

Anyone plan on getting the premiere pass? I’m assuming it’ll still be available in January. If we were doing a short trip I’d definitely get it for MK or maybe DHS, but with two weeks I dont think it’s necessary. I keep thinking about how nice it would be though, so we’ll see if I’m strong enough to resist lol. I swore I wouldn’t pay for the After Hours and I talked myself into that lol. Also, just an fyi, but even though our 60 days aren’t here yet you can still book a lot of the DS restaurants on Open Table. I just booked Raglan Road for the 17th.
I was so excited at the prospect of it, but was disappointed at the prices, so it's a no for us--for now!

1) We haven't stayed at a deluxe resort for years.

2) I feel like MK is the park most suited for it, but at $350 per person, that would be $1400 for our family of four.

I will dream about doing it for 1 day as a fun splurge, but I don't know if or when that day would ever come!

Yay! Your information has been updated!

Dates officially announced for the Festival of the Arts! January 17- February 24!

Link here.

Looks like it’s starting about a week later than it did in 2024. My first park day is January 22 - hoping the bloggers are gone by then 😳
Ugh, our first Epcot Day is Jan 20. Or at least that was the original plan. Was really counting on it starting the week before. Oh well. :eeyore:

What is the Festival of the Arts like? Does it make Epcot more crowded than usual? Are ADRs in Epcot easier to get because most people eat at the booths? Will other parks be less crowded while it’s going on? Is it hard to see the shows?

Thanks for any insights anyone can provide!

Oh my goodness that’s really starting late! We’ll be there the 11th-25 so I guess we’ll have a few days with no festival and a few CRAZY days with everyone coming to FARTS. Ugh.

It's fun! We like festivals for the food, and some of the Arts dishes are really cool looking!

Generally, any Festival days are usually more crowded. Be careful of opening day, weekends, and holidays adding to the festival crowd.

Are ADRs in Epcot easier to get because most people eat at the booths?
Possibly. I know when we've attended festivals, we only ate at booths!

Will other parks be less crowded while it’s going on?
Possibly. Arts and the winter months are somewhat less attended, so you may not see as much of a crowd reduction elsewhere as other festivals or times of the year.

Is it hard to see the shows?
Possibly. In general, I've heard you can usually get seats without a dining package. However, it will completely depend on who is performing and also weather.

Thanks for any insights anyone can provide!
Here's some extra reading!

We are considering it for HS because we have a lot of rides there we want to ride and we will be there Jan.1 - 7 when it is predicted to still be pretty busy. It'll depend on the price and what LLMP looks like. We have Park Hoppers so we probably could do all the rides we want to, but it'll take a lot more planning on my part. We will see.

I’m curious about this too! I’ve never been (excited about this year, though!) but from what I understand, bloggers/influencers tend to flood most Epcot festivals for content the first weekend (ie: pictures and reviews of the festivities and food). Not sure about this year as some of the APs seem to have blockout dates then since it’s a holiday weekend, which makes me nervous for the following weekend (my dates) but hoping it’s not too terrible. Can’t wait for them to announce the performers!
